“……She seems to have caught a cold.”

“What? It can’t be. She’ll whimper even if it hurts a little, but she definitely said she was okay!”

Seraphine frowned as she heard a murmur like a man’s drowning voice.

‘It’s noisy.’

Her whole body was heavy.

She didn’t need anything and she just wanted to be alone.

“Just because she doesn’t show it doesn’t mean she’s not sick.”

“……”

“Still, it is a frequent occurrence, so the princess will get used to it. Somehow.”

Seraphine wasn’t only sick for a day or two.

As it was a common occurrence, the doctor was puzzled to see Duke Rubia being restless.

“She said she wasn’t sick, but she collapsed right in front of me.”

“Even if it hurts a little, she would call me, but she’s saying everything is fine.”

The Duke of Rubia seemed to be shocked by the appearance of his daughter who suddenly fainted with an innocent face.

Then the doctor nodded his head as if he understood.

“It will be fine. You’ve been treating her well so far.”

The doctor who left a word of consolation to the Duke of Rubia gave his prescription and went out.

The Duke of Rubia was hovering and looking down at his daughter’s frowning face.

Then, a maid came to visit.

“What’s going on?”

Her maid didn’t know that Seraphine had fallen because she had found ‘it’ while everyone’s busy searching other people’s rooms.

When she was suddenly confronted with the Duke of Rubia, she was shocked.

“I don’t think you’re here for no reason. I’m asking you what’s going on?”

“That……”

As he looked at her, the maid thought, ‘After all, Duke Rubia will soon find out about this.’

“I found the culprit who stole the lady’s valuables.”

“What?”

“The lady, who felt strange because things kept disappearing, secretly gave me instructions. But today, the missing brooch was found in her maid’s room.”

“Is that true?”

“Yes, I saw it with my own eyes. If I search through the maid’s room, I’ll find it in no time.”

The maid’s salary was never small.

In fact, it could be said that it was bigger than in other places.

Seraphine was weak and usually spent all day in the mansion. So it was natural for her to accept grievances.

The Duke of Rubia also took that into consideration when setting her salary.

My daughter just passed out.

But the maid is stealing things from my daughter?

The Duke of Rubia raised his voice because he could not contain his anger over the fact her ailing daughter’s valuables were being coveted.

“Call the maid right now!”

As the environment grew noisy, Seraphine buried her face in the pillow.

He didn’t even know that the maid was caught in a trap she had set and that there was a riot.

Now that she’s tired, Seraphine loses consciousness once again.

When she felt the sensations around her, it was quiet that she’s unable to hear anyone’s conversation.

“Water ……”

Her throat was dry, and she floundered her arms for a rope with half-closed eyes.

“Do you want this?”

Then she heard a strange male voice.

‘Who is it?’

A blonde hair was visible through her blurry vision.

“Ica… Ross…?”

“That’s another man’s name. Do I have to know about your relationship with a man when I came here to take care of my sister?”

His voice was as cold as icy water.

When Seraphine was able to recall her own situation little by little, it was not difficult to find out who the man in front of her was.

‘Joshua.’

He was her younger brother.

With blonde hair as thick as honey and a sharp impression like a cat, he was the same blood as Seraphine.

Joshua looked at her with deep red eyes. His tone was full of hostility; however, he handed her a glass of water in a calm and dignified manner in contrast to this hostile gaze.

“Since the suicide threat didn’t work, you must have devised another method this time.”

Saying so, Joshua sat on the edge of her bed.

Seraphine, who barely raised her upper body, stared at her younger brother, who was two years younger.

Meanwhile, Joshua felt guilty as he looked at her without saying a word. Then he finally broke the silence and talked gibberish.

“You’re tired because you’re trying to get attention in front of us with a fake illness. You’ve got such a personality.”

“You look like me.”

As soon as Seraphine spoke, Joshua made a face that looked like his eyes would pop out right away. She had a way of saying calmly, but no matter who had heard it, Seraphine’s words were like a curse word.

Joshua said, ‘Huh!’ when she naturally calmed him down even when he brought up the story.

Seraphine, who was half-asleep and didn’t realize what the problem was, sipped the water.

“Father kicked out the maid for stealing sister’s things.”

“Really?”

She was even whipped from what he had heard, but Joshua didn’t bother talking about it. It was because Seraphine’s reaction was too calm — like a person who had nothing to do with the situation.

“What the hell have you done?”

“Why do you think I did something?”

“The maid insisted until the very end that she didn’t steal it, that she had received the brooch from sister.”

“You seem to trust the words of a stranger more than your flesh and blood.”

It was a calm remark from her.

Seraphine looked down at the half-lowered cup without changing her expression.

“If the situation is unfavorable, it is the person who can come up with any excuses. It’s easier to put the blame on others than to admit your sins.”

“……”

“If I had given her the brooch myself as she had said.  Do you think I have a reason to put the blame on her and drive that maid out?”

“… No, I was just saying.”

Joshua didn’t know how the maid had treated Seraphine. Further, it was only natural that he had no interest in his older sister. As usual, if he had ever run into Seraphine, he would avoid her as if he had met a crazy dog.

And so he didn’t think Seraphine had been viciously harassed by the head maid if she had harassed the maid.

The embarrassed Joshua turned around for nothing.

“Those damned wings didn’t stick out.”

“It’s just a mild cold.”

As she gained the memory of the owner’s body, she learned one thing — Seraphine, Princess Rubia, suffered from a rare disease that caused wings to grow on her body.

While Seraphine, the princess of Tilmun Kingdom, didn’t have them.

An ordinary human should never have been born with wings.

But oddly enough, she had her wings from the moment she came out of her mother’s womb.

‘Five hundred years ago, I was disrespected when I had no wings, but now god’s lineage has been wiped out, so her wings are rather strange.’

Humans born with wings usually die before reaching adulthood, and this was because all the mana that would typically be distributed evenly across the body was concentrated on the wings.

‘Because wings are composed of vast amounts of mana, therefore it can be considered as a huge mass of magic.’

Mana was life energy. Not only the magicians but as well as ordinary people had magic.

Those born with many mana become magicians, and those who don’t can’t use magic spells. Considering that all of god’s bloodlines knew how to use magic, humans were fragile individuals.

‘Because of that, they can’t handle the mana that falls through their wings, so they all die early.’

Not only could she not correctly use the power accumulated in her wings, but she could also not handle the amount of mana that was going out, so the owner of this body always lacked mana.

‘It’s a phenomenon that happens once in a hundred years, and they all said there was no cure. If you cut off the wings artificially, you will die on the spot.’

Because of this, it was considered a terrifying rare disease.

If she was of divine blood, she would spread her wings casually but with a human body, even that was a heavy burden.

So the body owner had to engrave a magic circle on her back that seals her wings when she was young.

At first glance, it looked like a tattoo — a tattoo that looks like a giant wing.

But all of this was really just a temporary measure.

One day, the magic power was consumed so much that the wings spread out like a sneeze.

If that happens, I will receive a significant blow to my body, or in the worst-case…

‘I’m going to die.’

It was a nonsensical word.

‘I’ve got wings, but it’s a nuisance.’

As such, there was a limit to maintaining her body by engraving a magic circle and taking medicine. Only someone had to continuously supply her with mana so that she could Iive like an ordinary person.

Although the owner of the body wanted to play the role of a fiancee.

‘My fiance didn’t seem to mind at all.’

He was a man who had an affair with another woman even though he had a fiancee.

You wouldn’t care if your fiancee is dead or alive. After all, it’s a forced engagement, so maybe she wanted to die soon.

“It’s medicine. Take it.”

Seraphine then asked, taking the medicine that Joshua gave her.

“Why are you in my room?”

“Why? You don’t like me? Just throw a cup as you normally would.”

Joshua’s response was ferocious, as if he had suffered a lot.

After thinking for a moment, Seraphine pulled something out of her drawer and actually threw it at Joshua.
