Chapter 406: Former Royalty, Current Assassin

This anecdote was only repeated exactly as it had occurred in the notes of the Qian Family and other major clans. Most knew that the Behemoth Bloodline Warrior monopolized the Barbarian state affairs, but they didn’t know that there were two branches. One was surnamed Rocky and the other one Doklas, for the sake of fairness.

The two branches were both royal members and they took turns to accede. While the emperor, no matter what he had been called, he must change the surname to Peter. That was the rule.

As time went by, the stereotypical drama appeared on the stage of history. The party in power refused to step down and the other pressed hard. The only solution was a war. The losing Rocky family was said to have suffered a complete extinction. The Purple-Vein Bloodline Family was the only bloodline family that had participated as reinforcements for the Doklas Family.

“It seems they weren’t right about everything, at least to the knowledge of the ancestors.” Qian Jin nodded. “At least you are a Rocky who is still alive. Well, now you can tell me why you want to kill me.”

“Someone paid for your life.” Rocky Ray answered in a cold tone and looked at Qian Jin with a cool face.

“Who was that?”

After a moment of silent agony, Rocky Ray shook his head. “I can’t tell. I am an assassin.”

“Assassin…” Qian Jin sighed at the sky and fixed his eyes once again on the royal decedent. “If your ancestors knew about this, would they wake up to beat you? After all, you are a prince!”

“I…” Rocky Ray shuddered at the words but he bit his lips and said, “Have to eat and live.”

To be honest, it sounded bitter enough. The Rocky? Glory had long been forgotten and buried by the Doklas. He had no other choices but to wait for an opportunity.

To plan retaliation, he must endure hardships. But, as a Rocky, he couldn’t live his life on the Barbarian territory. Any Behemoth Bloodline Warrior who had awakened their bloodline power had the last name of Doklas, or Peters for now.

“Come on! How much they paid you? I’ll give you more.” Flipping his wrist, Qian Jin picked up a huge piece of gold brick from his Warrior Dimension and threw it directly on the ground. The crashing sound, like a hammer, pounded on Rocky’s heart.

The young killer, who had stayed cool all the time, now could not help but swallow the lump in his throat. The gurgles were so clear that Qian Jin had heard them.

“Not enough?” Once again Qian Jin fished out another brick and he saw Rocky Ray was wavering. He thought the young killer might attempt an open robbery if the situation wasn’t like this.

“Then how about you tell me how much you want?” Qian Jin asked carelessly. “Ten of these? Twenty? Or thirty?”

“Stop it!” Flinging up a pillar arm, Rocky Ray stretched out his carrot-like fingers and shook them along with the head and the wide-opened eyes. “I won’t tell you a word, even you give me a whole world!”

Breathing heavily, Rocky Ray looked away from the bricks on the ground for fear that his resolution might begin to stagger. He couldn’t! He couldn’t betray his clients!

But… There were at least thirty pieces! It was worth God knew how many heads. With that, he could buy weapons and recruit retinues to pave the road for revenge! The Rocky revival could be expected soon!

“Seriously, you don’t want this?” Hearing people coming up the stairs, Qian Jin narrowed his eyes and put on a murderous face. “Don’t you think I dare not to kill you!”

In the pauses of his quick breathing, Rocky Ray was heard to say, “Bring it on!” He closed his eyes but kept his head held high in the face of this most perilous situation. He hated this but he had to admit he was overwhelmed by this appalling opponent on the first mission. Rocky Ray was fully aware how strong Qian Jin was from the way he ran on the rooftop. And the strike just now? Qian Jin had obviously held back to spare his life.

Run? Rocky Ray didn’t even think about this option. There was no way he could get away! Measured with the Zence standard, he was at best a Level 8 Demon Fighter. Physical Strength and archery were his trump cards but Qian Jin outstripped him in both aspects.

“Well, since you won’t say a thing…” After a long pause, Qian Jin started his Warrior Power. As his legs trembled at top speed, [Innumerable Shadows] was performed. Within a moment he appeared behind Rocky Ray. Stretching out his fingers like a claw, he clasped the assassin and overturned the immobilized arms. At the same time, he lifted a leg and kicked the young man’s head.

Crack! Before the pain of the dislocated arms reached Rocky Ray’s brain, a huge hammer beat it. Rolling his eyes, the young man lost his Bloodline Battle Form and then passed out.

Forced to turn off the Bloodline Battle Form, Rocky Ray now was just about 6 feet tall. Qian Jin smiled coldly, picked up the man laying prone by his neck and threw him onto the rooftop. He then sprang up there as well. Lifting the prisoner of war, Qian Jin quickly ran to another corner and jumped downstairs along it.

“Hurry up!”

“Who is making trouble here?”

“Search the building! Don’t let him out!”

After the battle, the room was ruined. Students in it started scrabbling, for only God knew what or who it was.

“Idiots! He is already gone!”

Standing on the top of another teaching building, Isabella watched Qian Jin taking his trophy away with a mask of hatred. “This kid… is even more powerful than I expected, especially the last strike! Woho! Now he is my baby! Wait, who wanted to mess with my baby?”

Resting her chin on hand, Isabella frowned. “I must figure it out! No matter who that man is, I will make him pay and he won’t forget about it for the rest of his life! Well, I have stayed out of these killing games long enough, since I was appointed as principal… It’s ShowTime!”

“Don’t know if Qian Jin could get the name or not…” Stretching her arms, Isabella floated behind her treasure student like a feather. “If he can’t… I could show him what a real torture is! Let me see, I have at least 100 wrenches to pry his mouth.”

Was there a second person? Qian Jin suddenly stopped! Turning around, he found nothing except the sky and the earth. He trusted his intuition! He couldn’t have been wrong after fighting so many fights in the jungle. There was someone there!

He clearly felt something. Unless the person had disguised himself as a stone and didn’t move a little just like the trophy in his hand…

“The smell…” Past memories flashed through his mind and he smiled. He almost forgot that smell. A few months ago, he had fought a fight against the principal in her office. The smell was faint but Qian Jin knew for sure it belonged to her.

Scratching his head, Qian Jin thought for a while. He knew the principal meant no harm and he also knew that it was hard to get rid of her. Whatever… He decided to go for Gloria first and everything could wait until they went back to the Torrent Battle Fort.

“The kid…” Isabella looked at his back and murmured. “Did he find out about me? He shouldn’t have… [Feather Snowflake] is, after all, a Killing Fighting Technique! He shouldn’t have! He is only a Demon Slayer!”

Running all the way back, Qian Jin found the flat land had long been gone. It was replaced by rows of earth spikes, which were made of soil but harder than metal.

Enveloped by the earth spikes, Gabriella stood in the magic array quietly. Qian Jin could even see her magic power rolling and boiling as if it were telling him the one commanding the body there was, in fact, the genius mage, Gloria. It was the girl who had accused Qian Jin of touching, pinching and squeezing her chest.

“No wonder she is honored as the first mage in Punitive Expedition.”

Awe-struck by the magnificent scene, Isabella could not help but gasp in admiration. Heartfelt happiness was seen on her face. Thanks to Qian Jin, she would pick up another treasure!

Carrying Rocky Ray in hand, Qian Jin walked towards to Gloria, who was burnt out and fell to the ground in a dead faint. The magic power, at the same time, all died down.

Reaching out an arm, Christine caught Gabriella as she fell. The Barbie looked at the mage with shock as well as bewilderment. She was appallingly strong but why she always seemed so lame? To stay low-key? That’s unnecessary!

Qian Jin drew back, with a long breath. Fortunately, Gloria gave the body back to Gabriella. Otherwise, how should he deal with the accusation? Although he had only “touched” one girl, it was actually two. That would be an absurd charge!

Qian Jin turned to Christine, who instantly blushed and bowed her head to the ground. She used to be a big woman who cared nothing about love. But now…

“Sorry Christine, if I scared you there…” Qian Jin tried to change a subject. “Did not get hurt?”

“No, I didn’t…” Christine looked up at the man and said in a soft voice, “Thank you for saving my life.”

“Don’t say that…” The embarrassed man scratched his head. “The archer was here to kill me! Sorry for involving you in this.”

“That’s alright!” The barbie looked at the curled-up shrimp in Qian Jin’s hand and asked, “Is this the assassin?”
