Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Zangei and Kawaki

Gonsunkugi was nothing more than a thief. He hardly mattered to anyone and was defeated by the main character, Naruto Uzumaki. As far as Jonathan was concerned, Gonsunkugi was nothing but ryō to him.

Jonathan hadn't just grabbed Gonsunkugi's body; he had also grabbed all of his belongings. The items stored here were likely highly valuable. There were paintings, vases and even weapons painted gold. Whether or not any of these things could yield a profit, Jonathan wasn't willing to let it go. He placed a mark on Gonsunkug and performed the flying raijin several times to transport the items to Kyowakoku Jungle. The last thing in Gonsunkugi's room was Gonsunkugi himself. Jonathan grabbed his dead body and teleported him to Kyowakoku Jungle without leaving.

This time, Jonathan had thought of a new plan. He wasn't going to travel with his bounty. Instead, he was going to travel alone to the collection's office. It was far too dangerous to be seen. Appearing in the Leaf Village, Jonathan entered his smoke form and flew high into the air until he was away from the village.

When he was far enough, he used the lightened boulder technique to fly to the collection office. Jonathan didn't have an eidetic memory, but it was good enough to recall details. The office's location was memorized. There were five in total in the Land of Fire, but Jonathan needed to go to this specific one. There was a special person that Jonathan had to urgently meet.

When Jonathan made it close to the collection office, he performed the transformation technique and descended to the ground. There, he dug a small hole and placed a mark inside. Jonathan then performed the flying raijin technique to collect Gonsunkugi's body and teleport back to his marked location.

Jonathan holstered Gonsunkugi's body over his back and walked the remainder of the way to the office. When he arrived, he went to the bathroom. There was a reason for this. As many would recall, the collection office had a secret passageway for clients. Jonathan looked carefully and went to the urinal close to the end. He placed his hand on the wall and began feeling for a spot different from the others.

'There,' Jonathan thought. He pushed on the wall and a secret entrance opened. Jonathan waited as a man appeared. "State your name," he said. Jonathan recognized the man. Though he was a lot younger, there was no mistaking it. Zangei, the collection agent.

"You can call me Kawaki," Jonathan answered. "I have someone valuable." Jonathan proceeded to show Gonsunkugi's dead corpse. Zangei looked at it before reverting his eyes back to Jonathan. He was looking at a young man with faded hair and tattoos across his whole arm.

"I've never seen you before. How did you know about here?" Zangei asked.

Jonathan had not just picked anyone to transform into. He picked someone who looked like they meant business if seen. Kawaki was a character from Boruto: The Next Generation. Despite that, Jonathan knew him all too well. Boruto might have been the second most hated animated show, but that didn't mean Jonathan didn't know about it.

"I was in need of money, so I decided to become a bounty hunter. The person you're seeing here is a thief I caught freely roaming around." Jonathan knew how to handle this situation well. He holstered Gonsunkugi's corpse over his shoulder and turned around saying, "But if you're gonna interrogate me, I can go somewhere else…"

"Wait," Zangei announced. Jonathan expected him to stop him. "Come inside. I'll take a look."

Jonathan turned around and walked behind Zangei. The inside smelled like urine, feces and dead corpses mixed together. Despite how putrid the odor was, Jonathan kept a straight face. He hadn't cared. Zangei opened a shelf on the wall and Jonathan placed Gonsunkugi's body face up. It was akin to being in a darkly lit mortuary. Zangei took a few minutes flipping through his book to identify Gonsunkugi.

If Zangei couldn't identify the body or if there were discrepancies, he wouldn't pay the client.

"That's Gonsunkugi the Theif alright," confirmed Zangei. "Wait here." By the time Zangei returned, he had a briefcase with him. Opening it, Jonathan saw a lot of ryō. It was no different than the briefcase he took from Gantetsu and Chōseki. Jonathan, of course, wasn't just going to take it. There was a reason why Zangei opened the case in front of him. Jonathan had to count.

As much as his life was worth in this world, Jonathan earned three million five hundred thousand ryō. That was equivalent to over two hundred thousand American dollars.

"You'll be seeing my face a lot more, so expect me to be back soon," Jonathan said after closing it.

"I look forward to that," Zangei casually replied. A guy like him was used to people like Jonathan. He didn't need to share his own name. As long as the person knew how to conduct business, he would be fine with it.
