Chapter 20: Chapter 20: October 10th Pt. III

Jonathan personally did not like the idea of using the sharingan. Back on earth when he was role-playing, he never once chose to be an Uchiha. Despite knowing almost everything about that clan, he found the idea of the sharingan to be vacuous. But he also understood its vast, privileged superiority in this world. To be able to distinguish chakra, anticipate opponent's movements, copy abilities and perform hypnotism was not something to lightly pass up.

Jonathan didn't want the sharingan. He needed it!

Thirty minutes passed and Jonathan hadn't made a single movement. He kept close eyes on his target. The nine-tails still hadn't shown up yet. This unknown Uchiha didn't look any familiar to Jonathan than that chakra-less nurse at the hospital. One Uchiha dead would not make a difference. Not after tonight at least.

Jonathan was prepared to wait till morning and the next night following if the nine-tails did not show. He had that much patience. Suddenly, a loud bang erupted in Jonathan's ears. Debris of massive proportions rushed over where Jonathan was hiding.

"Run, it's the nine-tails fox!"

"Everyone, get to safety!"

Cries and screams of anguish mixed with buildings crashing and a monstrous roar filled Jonathan's ears. The dust was so dense, he could no longer see where his target was. The problem with Jonathan's plan was that he wasn't aware of the exact location the nine-tails would be summoned.

Jonathan ran out from hiding to head to the direction the target was in. By the time some of the dust cleared, Jonathan saw that his target's upper body had been buried above the debris. He hadn't the strength to move such a large object from the man. And even so, his head was likely crushed. Jonathan couldn't use this Uchiha anymore. And If his sharingan was not active before his death, there was no point in trying.

Earlier, Jonathan wasn't just scouting around for nothing. He was pinpointing various Uchihas' and their locations. Assuming they hadn't moved too far, he counted three in total. One had just died.

Jonathan augmented his feet and sored to the air to get a better view of things. His attention couldn't help but be drawn by the size of the nine-tailed fox. Kurama, the name of the beast, was greatly undervalued in size when Jonathan looked at him in person. His ferocity was greater than expected.

'To think that the mindless boy named Naruto Uzumaki would carry such a predatorial monster inside him for years,' boldly claimed Jonathan.

Even from this safe distance, the nine-tail's chakra could physically be felt. Even more, it could easily knock Jonathan unconscious.

But Jonathan didn't have time to focus on Kurama's brutality. He searched high and low and jumped from damaged building to damaged building. There were so many people scattering like ants in a wild fire. When Jonathan leapt high again to get a better arial view, the nine-tails let out a barbaric roar in Jonathan's direction which caused a vehement wind to send him crashing to the side of a building.

The instant Jonathan's body crashed, in that spot was a piece of debris. Substitution jutsu was successful.

Jonathan had already prepared one after the nine-tails had appeared. He wasn't just looking for his targets, he was also keeping his senses open on the most dangerous creature here right now.

When Jonathan safely landed after the substitution, the area started to become less and less crowded. But Jonathan kept his composure. He wasn't one to distress during critical moments. As he searched the area; lo, a woman with dark hair was seen limping. What almost made Jonathan's heart leap was the symbol on her back. It was an Uchiha. Like a shark smelling blood in the water, Jonathan took out his poison and dipped the tip of his kunai in it.

Back on earth, Jonathan was adept at throwing not just darts at a billboard but also knives. With chakra at his disposal, throwing a kunai was akin to throwing a pencil at a classroom's ceiling. Jonathan distributed his chakra accordingly and hurled the kunai at his target.

"Ah!" screamed the woman before falling forward to the ground. Jonathan managed to successfully hit her right calf muscle. When the woman looked to see what happened, there was no one in sight. Not a distressed civilian neither anyone to rescue her. And even if there was someone nearby, they were too preoccupied trying to save their own lives. This was also how most people on earth would've reacted. Whether Jonathan was on earth or in the ninja world, people were the same no matter where he went. Without hesitating, the Uchiha ripped the kunai right out. She tried getting up but the poison had already taken its effect.

Jonathan hadn't just practiced medicine, he learned of various types of poisons as well. This special poison was derived from kochū, a worm that can infect its target with paralysis without leaving any trace behind after death.

Before the kunai had landed, Jonathan had already been circling around the woman's blind spots. When he saw the poison had taken its effect, he rushed over to the woman. She looked frightened because of Jonathan's sudden appearance. But Jonathan not only had an innocent boyish charm, he was wearing their headband.

"I heard someone scream here. Are you okay?" Jonathan ignorantly asked.

"N—no." the woman struggled to say. "I can't move my body."
