Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Hazuki Uchiha

There was a reason Jonathan carried the woman so far out. Being away from the nine-tails was important yes; but, Jonathan had scanned the area to make sure not a single soul was nearby. He set the woman's body on the hard pavement and grabbed what little he could find to block any seeable openings. Based off the layout of the area, Jonathan guessed he was in poorly constructed home.

Jonathan checked the kunoichi (a female ninja) for anything useful. He managed to find a few bandages from her flak jacket, some threads, as well as kunai and shuriken. But none of those things, however, were valuable to him in this situation.

Feeling exhausted after his adrenalin stopped flowing, Jonathan sat down near a wall next to the fresh corpse.

'It takes roughly one to three days for a dead body to start decomposing. But the rules of this world might be different because of chakra.' Jonathan analyzed. He knew he couldn't do anything immediately because of how low his chakra reserves were. After the nine-tails attacked, it was unspecified what happened before the next day. Jonathan had no other choice but to wait until he restored enough of his chakra.

While sitting, he crossed his arm over his raised knee and closed his eyes. Dangling in his hand were the woman's eyes in a plastic, medical bag he grabbed from the orphanage. When Jonathan looked at his other hand, he opened his palm which were shaded red. This was the first time Jonathan had ever seen so much blood before. Why? Because this was the first time Jonathan had ever slain someone. He remained emotionless.

Back on earth, Jonathan had dissected many dead lab animal parts. Starting as early as middle school. Live organs dangling from a medical bag didn't disgust him in the slightest. It was the amount of blood that caused Jonathan to remain silent.

'That woman said the name Izumi before she died', Jonathan contemplated. The only Izumi Jonathan recalled was Izumi Uchiha. There were missing puzzles Jonathan was trying to gather. For one, Izumi Uchiha was one of the many kunoichi who favoured Itachi Uchiha during the academy. She was also the person he rescued during the nine-tails attack. The only connection Izumi had was to an unspecified man and woman. One of whom was Hazuki Uchiha, Izumi's mother.

Jonathan questioned Hazuki Uchiha's existence because she was only ever mentioned in a novel. That novel might have been official, but it wasn't written by Masashi Kishimoto. On top of all that, Hazuki was never mentioned to be a kunoichi. The only reason Jonathan knew this was because Itachi Uchiha was one of Jonathan's favourite anti-heroes. That was before he completely abandoned the series. Because there was never an illustration of Hazuki, Jonathan wasn't able to tell who she was when he saw her.

Despite that desperate situation he was in, Jonathan still would have targeted Hazuki regardless of how big of an impact her early death would affect the timeline. Jonathan's very existence in this world was already proof there was bound to be some changes. The only thing Jonathan had to make sure of was, to minimize those changes as much as possible until he reached his true goals. Knowing how the story played out was one of his biggest weapons.

Hazuki Uchiha has written to have died by the hands of Itachi Uchiha during the Uchiha massacre, a point in time when two shinobi slaughtered their entire clan in one night. During that night, Itachi killed both Izumi and Hazuki Uchiha. Izumi no longer had a mother, so Jonathan could only make hypothesis as to how it could affect the rest of the Uchiha clan until their destruction.

It was good that Jonathan chose this night of all nights. The entire Leaf was preoccupied with the nine-tails. As long as Jonathan secured an Uchiha with the sharingan without being seen, he was undoubtedly the biggest victor.
