A shadowy figure was seen walking. Only the sound of grass being crushed could be heard. When the figure came out of the darkness and into dawn's light, it was Jonathan.
His clothes were covered in dirt. Jonathan hadn't had any injuries on him thanks to his proficient use of the healing technique. It had been three nights Jonathan spent in the Forest of Death. He speculated how long it would take for village operations to get back to normal. Since the damages the nine-tails caused wasn't as severe as what Orochimaru or Nagato Uzumaki would cause a decade from now, Jonathan was sure that it wouldn't take long for the citizens to return to their daily lives. After spending those three nights in seclusion, Jonathan had advanced his techniques abundantly.
Before entering, Jonathan could only execute nine total techniques. Three of them where medical ninjutsu he learned from the orphanage (healing jutsu, chakra dissection blade, and poison extraction jutsu). Three more were lower ranked techniques that most starting ninja had potential of performing (clone jutsu, hi-speed movement, and substitution jutsu). Those six techniques alone took Jonathan ten months to fully perfect. Upon defeating an already injured Hazuki Uchiha, he acquired the sharingan as well as her blood cells. After three days of flawless training, Jonathan not only learned to control his sharingan but also acquired two new techniques (sharingan genjutsu and fire ball jutsu). In total, that made nine techniques including the sharingan.
Though Jonathan knew several more hand signs to practice other techniques, he knew that it wouldn't benefit him if he didn't have proper control over them. After Jonathan would learn a technique, he had to be able to fully control it. Otherwise, that technique wouldn't help him during a battle. This is how Jonathan was able to defeat an already injured Jōnin. It was because he was very judicious with how to use his skills.
Now that Jonathan was prepared, he decided to leave the Forest of Death. Traveling by air, Jonathan leapt from tree to tree until he made it to residential areas. It was unsurprising the speed at how most of the buildings were being reconstructed at. He had only spent three nights in the forest and already the Leaf Village seemed fully recovered.
Jonathan avoided the cemetery entirely in case it was still populated. By the time he got to the shopping district, he jumped down and landed in the back entrance of a familiar shop. The place Jonathan planned on coming to was none other than Ichiraku Ramen shop.
Almost everyone was familiar with this area. It was the main character's favourite restaurant to eat at, first featured in both the first episode and the first chapter of the series. But Jonathan didn't come here for nostalgic purposes. Nor did he come to eat ramen. Jonathan managed to sneak in successfully without making a sound or being spotted by anyone. He then surveyed the area for anything out of the ordinary. Despite being a regular shop like the others, Jonathan needed to understand his environment. He wasn't just a cautious individual; he was one not to leave room for mistakes.
The shop was empty with nothing special inside. There was some barrels and sacks of ingredients but that wasn't to Jonathan's interest. He could tell the shop was closed and the owner, his real target, would arrive soon. Jonathan sat down and waited patiently.
Less than an hour later and he heard someone entering from the back. Jonathan made haste and jumped to the shops roof without making a sound. The person who walked in was none other than the owner, Teuchi. Jonathan hardly knew anything about this character. Aside from his prestige and successful business, he was the perfect candidate for Jonathan. Even better, this would be the main character's favourite place to come to when he grew older.
Jonathan jumped down behind Teuchi. The landing sound instinctively made Teuchi turn around in shock.
"What the…?!" Those were the last words Teuchi uttered before seeing Jonathan's bright red eyes staring into his own.
Teuchi's shocked expression ceased. He lowered his head confirming he was successfully placed under the sharingan genjutsu. There were several advantages to having the sharingan. One of them was its hypnotic abilities. When a target was placed under its illusion, Jonathan was able to manipulate the target's mind in various way. He could cause them to lose consciousness, force them to reveal their secrets; but more importantly, he could control their mind itself.
Only a few seconds passed and Jonathan was seen walking passed Teuchi's unconscious body. He stood on a nearby stool, leaned his elbow on a table, rested his chin on his fist and asked:
"Why don't you close the shop for today?"
Teuchi raised his head and turned to respond, "That's a great idea. Anything for my beloved son."
