Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Who Are You?

Jonathan left the Hokage's manor undetected. It took an hour and half to read all the contents regarding the flying raijin technique.

He would have gladly read more but he decided on saving those infamous techniques for a later date. As far as Jonathan knew, he had plans on returning to the Hokage's manor at a later day. Of the many forbidden techniques that might help him not just get stronger but possibly have some clues as to how to return to earth, it was the reanimation technique (also known as edo tensei).

If Jonathan understood that technique, something that brought others back from the dead, it's possible he could understand its derivatives to help him know how he got here, and how he can get back. Jonathan was bent on returning to earth. He didn't like the world of ninjas. And since Jonathan was planning on slaying every single thing that moved in this world, learning a technique that revolved around death was obligatory.

By the time Jonathan returned home, it was close to sunset. He sat on the table and began calculating how to train the flying raijin technique. He would have gladly gone to the training grounds to start but he needed Teuchi to purchase him more kunai at the ninja tool shop. Even more, the ninja tool shop had a special gift awaiting Teuchi for his large investment. During sunset, Teuchi would take a break and return home to check on his daughter if she wasn't near him.

At this time, Ayame was sleeping. Jonathan had already checked around the house to make sure of it. To bide his time, he sat in the kitchen and accumulated his greatest gain by far that he acquired from the Scroll of Seals.

After about an hour, Jonathan felt uneasy. It was close to nightfall and Teuchi hadn't once come home. There were times that Teuchi didn't come home on time due to how busy the shop had recently gotten, but tonight felt different.

'The Chūnin exams was held today. It's possible that people from respective clansmen, and other ninja, were celebrating the results,' Jonathan considered.

Having nothing to be base his assumption on, Jonathan went upstairs to his room. Here is where Jonathan kept a lot of his purchased items. There were shuriken in the hundreds, senbon in the thousands, as well as sealing and explosive tags. One could say Jonathan's room had become an armament for most ninja tools in the Leaf Village.

Jonathan looked around and found something peculiar. The way that Jonathan organized his ninja tools were quite abnormal. Because of his perfectionist trait, he aligned everything in the order he thought things should go in. All senbon were stacked together and all kunai were leaned slanted by the closet. Jonathan didn't have obsessive compulsive disorder, but he at least liked things to look neat.

But something was off.

Jonathan didn't move. He only thought to himself. 'One hundred kunai, two-hundred shuriken, two-thousand senbon, ten fūma shuriken, forty explosive tags, five katanas, one-hundred fifty makabishi, four knuckle knives, three daggers...'

Jonathan walked out feeling relieved. Downstairs was Ayame drawing. She had woken up not long ago. Her illusion was still in effect, so she smiled at Jonathan without uttering a word. Jonathan called her over. He had been sick and tired of Ayame as of late.

"Onii-chan! What can I help you with?!" she joyously asked.

Jonathan quickly spun Ayame around, grabbed a kunai out of his pouch and placed her in a choke hold.

"Come out or she dies," demanded Jonathan with a smirk on his face.

It was quiet for a few seconds.

"Onii-chan…" Ayame may have been under an illusion but her tone led Jonathan to believe she was nervous.

Not a moment too soon and Jonathan saw a shadowy figure walking down the stairs. "Let her go," he said. When the figure came to light, Jonathan gave a light smirk. The two gazed at each other for a brief moment. "How did you know I was here?" the shinobi asked.

"Unless you want her to die, I'll be asking the questions," Jonathan declared. He held Ayame close, kunai ready to pierce her head. "Why did the Leaf send an Anbu to what was a simple matter, Shisui Uchiha?"

'He knows who I am?' questioned Shisui. How could Jonathan not? The moment Jonathan felt something was odd, he activated his sharingan. Almost instantly, he saw chakra flowing on the stack of explosive tags. And Jonathan knew whose chakra signature it was. He had spied on all Uchiha clan members.

"During the Chūnin exams, I was watching with my sharingan and saw something strange in the stands," explained Shisui as he pushed his mask to the side. "The shop owner I once visited to order ramen from was under a genjutsu…" Jonathan's smirk disappeared. He stared intently at Shisui.

"So, we were right. It was you that placed him under that genjutsu. I informed the Hokage and he gave an order to investigate the ramen shop owner's home. I was shocked to see so much ninja tools in one room. When I reported back, the Hokage gave permission to continue investigating."

'He didn't say "I"; he said "we",' considered Jonathan. Shisui was not alone here.

"Now answer my question. Who are you and what are you doing?"
