It was highly unlikely for Jonathan to get strong enough in less than a year's time through standard methods. He hadn't even learned how to control chakra. The nurse saw the annoyed look on Jonathan's face. She couldn't tell what he was thinking. Not a second too soon and Jonathan said in a calm tone, "Thanks, Ms. Ikitsumi. I thought knowing the date might help me remember something."

Ikitsumi smiled in relief. She tried giving reassuring words to Jonathan, but Jonathan had hardly paid any mind. The only thing he was thinking of was how to escape this hospital in order to head to the only place where his plans could unfold.

"I'll let you rest for a little bit and will check on you often, okay?" Jonathan could only nod with a slight smile on his face. "And if you'd like, you can take off your sandals and place them on the side."

The moment the door shut Jonathan's smile turned to resentment. He quickly uncovered his sheets and stood to look out the window. Even if Jonathan were back on earth in his more athletic body, he'd never attempt climbing down a room this absurdly high. And he hadn't yet harnessed chakra yet, so wall climbing was not an option.

Jonathan wasn't a prodigy like Kakashi Hatake, nor did he have Itachi Uchiha's talents. He was an average boy.

Without daring to waste anymore time, Jonathan opened the doors to his room. The halls were considerably quiet since it was still early morning. He looked around and didn't see anyone. Remembering what Ikitsumi mentioned earlier, they were currently understaffed. Jonathan exited his room casually. When he walked past an open door to a patient's room, Jonathan couldn't help but notice the patient was a shinobi. He could tell because of the universal flak jacket most shinobi above a certain rank wore.

But the shinobi wasn't what grabbed Jonathan's attention. It was what was next to the shinobi, his weapon pouch. 'How can I be sure he's sleeping, though?' Jonathan thought. Before Jonathan could act, he heard two women talking just one room away. Jonathan slid right into the shinobi's room and hid behind the door. He recognized both lady's voices. Ikitsumi was talking to Taji who ordered her to take blankets upstairs.

"Be sure to check up on that boy lord Namikaze brought in earlier."

"I will, lady Taji. I feel so bad for him," Ikitsumi replied.

Jonathan squinted his eyes in contempt when he heard those words. Jonathan looked at how close he was to the pouch. It looked adjustable, befitting for anyone to wear. To him, this wouldn't be an act of stealing. This shinobi's weapon pouch would pave the way for Jonathan to return to the world where he's from. He therefore took the pouch before leaving the room. Though Jonathan hadn't recognized the person sleeping, he knew one thing. A shinobi who left their items lying around deserved for it to be taken.

In but a moment's time, Jonathan made it to the stairs and walked casually down to the first floor. He would pass a couple staff members but not a single one of them stopped him. Whether it was because he was a young boy with a pouch around his legs or because of the way he didn't arouse suspicion, Jonathan was prepared to give them an answer. When he finally descended the flights of stairs and made it to the first floor, Jonathan knew just walking out the front entrance was going to be acceptable.

He didn't like the idea, but he was in the world of ninjas. Playing that role was inevitable. Jonathan found a room in the far back and opened the window. He then forced his small body up the window still allowing him to climb out safely. Even if a few nurses or visitors saw him, they couldn't report anything significant aside from a boy with amnesia took a patient's weapon pouch before walking out. Being thought of as a spy wouldn't matter either because the war had already ended.

Jonathan neither walked nor ran. He kept a steady pace as he casually made his way to the gate entrance. The Leaf Village, known as Konoha to some, wasn't a complex territory. Once you located the main road, it was a straight path down to the village gates. From all the years of free-roaming in Naruto's virtual games, walking on the streets of the Leaf Village was as familiar as walking on Jonathan's University campus back on earth. The dirt underneath Jonathan's soles felt hard and the wind blowing through his clothes left an unsightly sensation.

As Jonathan walked along the main path, he searched what was inside the tool bag he took earlier. Inside, he found only three kunai. In a small compartment, he found about ten or so sharp, steel needles. Jonathan recognized them as senbon. But aside from that, what most interested Jonathan was the leaf village headband. Jonathan had never held one before. Not even back on earth where they were sold nominally. He took the headband out and tied around his arms. It felt much heavier in person.

Already passed the Dango shop, Jonathan would just need to continue forward. The back alley he woke up at turned out to be where the Nara clan residence was located. Though Jonathan was desperate, he knew trying to go back there would likely be pointless. And just like he presumed earlier, the medical-nin would not pursue Jonathan due to the lack of information on him. From what Jonathan remembered, the Leaf Village left their gates open for travelers and merchants during the day. The war was also over, so now was the perfect time to leave. Only the village guards would take notice. But sneaking passed them would prove to be improbable.

But Jonathan was prepared for such cases. Unlike others, Jonathan thought more than five—no ten steps ahead of his opponents. If the hospital made a report and the guards linked that report to a child walking freely out the gates, they'd undoubtedly know where to locate him. This was because the destination Jonathan was headed to was the Leaf Village Orphanage.

It was the perfect place for a small child with no home nor family could go to. He couldn't live like Naruto Uzumaki, whose support and income came from the third Hokage. And he couldn't live like Sasuke Uchiha because unlike Jonathan, Sasuke inherited all of his clan after the Uchiha massacre. As long as Jonathan gained access to this specific orphanage, he could live in safety. More importantly, he could freely be taught medical ninjutsu!
