Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Elder Baboo

The different type of animal species on earth were not that different than the ninja world's animals. Jonathan had knowledge of apes and monkeys. And what was in front of him was a large, Japanese macaque. They were also known as snow monkeys. Once this giant macaque appeared, a lot of the steam cleared. Jonathan was standing in what most resembled a large hot spring.

"Milo Lulu, why did you call me?" the giant monkey asked. His voice was crackly but very deep. He was also slow when he spoke. When Jonathan looked at him, he'd estimate his age to be around thirty-two. This was very old for a macaque!

"Elder Baboo, this boy. I think he said his name was Kabuto Yaku-something. He said he's a prophetic child so he wanted to come see you.  Ugh… you mentioned something about liberation, right?" asked the ape after looking at Jonathan.

'Milo Lulu and Elder Baboo,' Jonathan thought in his head. He would remember those names. Jonathan slightly bowed while looking at the ground saying, "Elder Baboo, excuse my intrusion. I came from the Leaf Village in hopes of learning the ways of monkeys and apes."

Milo Lulu was taken aback at Jonathan's sudden sense of respect. Jonathan knew when to lower himself to others. He was not the least bit prideful.

"Leaf Village?" Elder Baboo asked. "I see… Come here, Kabuto. Let me take a look at you."

Jonathan walked forward a little. Despite the size of Elder Baboo, he wasn't intimidated in the slightest. Jonathan could estimate his head alone was around fifty feet tall (fifteen meters). The two locked eyes for a moment. Jonathan's expressionless face hadn't blinked even once.

"There is a lot of darkness surrounding your eyes, Kabuto. I cannot see any light coming from you."

Jonathan hadn't expected a giant monkey of all things to tell him what he already understood.

"My darkness comes from the anguish my heart feels for this world. I may be young but I have seen terrible torments and unfair treatment unto others," Jonathan continued. "I have no right to be here, neither have I any desire to murder those that are pure and true. To the listener of my words, I seek righteous judgment."

Milo Lulu and Elder Baboo had not said a single word.

"He is telling the truth, Milo Lulu…"

The ape let out a surprised screech. "What?! He is?!" Elder Milo slowly nodded his head saying, "I cannot perceive any lies coming from the boy."

'Lies?' Jonathan questioned. He had never heard of an ability or technique that didn't require physical contact or interrogation to detect lies in this world. At Mt. Myōboku, their eldest toad, Gamamaru, had the ability to foresee and give prophecy. It would not be surprising to Jonathan if this elder monkey could see if someone was lying. Though Jonathan wasn't lying.

From Jonathan's perspective, no one in this world was pure or true.

"What do you hope to gain by coming here, Kabuto?" asked Elder Baboo slowly. If this monkey elder could tell lies apart from truth, Jonathan was fortunate that Milo Lulu already introduced Jonathan as Kabuto earlier.

"The world outside is littered with evil. As a boy, I cannot bear to live in it. Allow me to stay here for the time being and train under the citizens. If you find my words to be false despite seeing the darkness this world has caused, I shall depart," Jonathan answered. There wasn't a single stutter, nor lack of confidence in his words. He meant what he said without needing to reveal the truth.

"Sadly, that decision is not mine to make. Go, and speak with Enma. He shall decide your fate." At those words, Elder Baboo slowly descended into the hot waters causing steam to erupt. The surface shook a little as Elder Baboo left.

"Isn't that great news," Milo Lulu said approaching Jonathan. "You get to meet with our king, Enma!"

This was not good news to Jonathan. He was expecting their elder to accept him and allow him to stay like Jiraiya did at Mount Myōboku. In doing so, Jonathan could hope to learn and possibly train senjutsu.

Senjutsu was another form of energy in this world. With practice, one could draw out natural energy and mix that energy with their spiritual and physical energy. This type of energy was called senjutsu chakra (or natural energy chakra).

Though Jonathan wasn't completely sure whether or not senjutsu could be learned here, he was certain on one thing: He would use this place to practice the flying raijin.
