Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Enma

Senjutsu, or natural energy, was not something everyone could learn. Jonathan, despite how much he knew of this world, possibly couldn't learn to harness senjutsu.

This was because Jonathan didn't possess high enough chakra.

There were other factors that played into learning senjutsu. Each of which Jonathan was more than aware of. As strong as he might be, it's possible that due to his underdeveloped body, it might not be able to tolerate gathering senjutsu.

It was that rare of a form of energy this world.

"We'll get that arm of yours fixed after we meet the king," Milo Lulu said while walking with Jonathan. The two had already departed the mountain hot springs. Jonathan stopped in his tracks and performed the healing technique. His chakra had replenished enough for him to do so, and by no means was he going to approach monkey king Enma in an injured state. He would ask too many questions because Jonathan already said he came from the Leaf Village.

Enma was the third Hokage's summon. If by chance, the third Hokage summoned Enma and Enma ever spoke about Jonathan to him, it would be very problematic. The next time Hiruen would end up summoning monkey king Enma wouldn't be until Orochimaru's attack on the Leaf Village. Eleven years from now... But it is possible that throughout those unfilled events, Hiruzen could have summoned Enma for any reason.

Nonetheless, Jonathan was always prepared. He would be ten moves ahead for every situation that came his way.

Milo Lulu made a strange pose in seeing that Jonathan knew how to perform ninjutsu. Despite having seen him leaping from tree to tree, he still found Jonathan's feat. impressive enough to say, "Ugh... Never mind."

Less than a quarter mile and Jonathan reached what looked like a mini village. There were huts, and wooden homes within the trees. There were even inhabitants here. Whilst Milo Lulu and Jonathan walked along the streets, Jonathan saw a variety of species.

"You don't talk much, do you, Kabuto?" asked Milo Lulu.

Jonathan hadn't been paying attention to him. He was intrigued at the various apes and monkeys around. There were orangutans, baboons, proboscises and, the largest of the animals, the gorilla. Jonathan had watched movies with giant apes before, but he never grasped the meaning of what a giant ape really was till now. These gorillas were more than one-hundred feet tall (fifty meters). They were undoubtedly the size of a tailed beast.

"Hey!" Milo Lulu screamed.

"What is it?" Jonathan asked.

"You ignored me the whole way here!" Milo Lulu smacked his forehead. "Anyways, we've made it." Jonathan looked to see a giant hut in front of him. Milo Lulu let out a sound apes made. Not a moment too soon and the doors flapped opened. Jonathan would have recognized this ape from anywhere.

"Milo Lulu, did you gather the food supplies already?" asked Enma.

Milo Lulu smacked his forehead again. "Ugh… Listen, my king. Let's say that something more important came up. How would you feel?"

Enma growled, "How dare you not finish the task I gave you?!"

"My excellence, please forgive me!" screamed Milo Lulu. The two hopped around making ape noises. Anyone watching this scene would have believed they were going to fight.

"Look, my king" said Milo Lulu. "It's a boy from the Leaf Village. Elder Baboo tested him and said he told the truth. Then he said that if the boy would like to stay here, the decision would have to have made by you, you excellence!"

"Elder Baboo said that?" Enma curiously asked.

"Yes!" replied Milo Lulu.

Enma rubbed his chin before speaking, "That does not excuse you from gathering the food like I instructed. Leave my sight this instance, Milo Lulu!"

At those words, Milo Lulu ran away yelling, "My greatest apologize, my king! Hope to see you around, prophecy-boy!"

"Prophecy-boy?" questioned Enma. He turned to look at Jonathan who had not said a single thing. "Who are you?"

"You can call me Kabuto, monkey king Enma. I would like to dwell in this land and be away from the ninja world," replied Jonathan. He didn't spend any time in telling Enma why he was here.

Enma stared at Jonathan. The Leaf Village headband was always worn by Enma. When he noticed the headband strapped to Jonathan's right biceps, he asked, "How did you get here?"

Jonathan spent the next few minutes explaining how he mysteriously arrived and then later spoke with Elder Baboo who tested him. Not once did he mention to Enma what happened back at the Leaf, nor did he mention that he performed the summoning technique to be reverse summoned. He did, however, reveal what Elder Baboo stated.

Enma looked at Jonathan in wonder. It was the first time he could ever recall anyone coming to Kyowakoku Jungle. He himself could not determine what to do with Jonathan.

"Let me tell you this, child. Elder Baboo was the previous monkey king before me. You addressed me with respect, so you must already now of my prestige," exclaimed Enma. "Never have I met someone like you before; but, you bear the Leaf's headband. I can only assume you're an ally…."

Jonathan remained silent.

"I will not allow you stay here in our home but I won't deny you to dwell in the outskirts. At least until I figure out what to do."

When Jonathan heard those words, he smirked. "Thank you, monkey king Enma. You will find that I am not a threat but am here to find peace."

Enma was a stern ape. Had it not been for the fact that Jonathan spoke with Elder Baboo, a monkey who could possibly detect lies, he may not have believed what he was seeing. Not letting Jonathan stay in their abode but in the outskirts was the same as saying Jonathan would have to fend for himself. If he died, the blood would not be on their hands. This was exactly how Jonathan expected Enma to act. Enma, more specifically primates, is a somber and territorial animal. As long as their land wasn't being threatened, they wouldn't care where someone was lodged in.
