“Come in,” Erica said as she held the door screen open for me.
Instead of the casual, teal-colored hoodie and jogging pants I always saw her in, she’s wearing a black and white checkered coat with a white tank-top underneath along with her shoulder-length black hair, which was usually let down, was currently tied in a bun.
“Pardon the intrusion….” I uttered as I went into her house.
“Follow me; my room is this way,” Erica voiced as she gestured for me to follow her.
“Alright…” I replied. “Wait, your parents aren’t home?”
“They aren’t.” Erica answered, “They won’t be back until tomorrow night.”
“I see…”
As I followed Erica while glancing around her house, I saw that the base layout was generally the same, albeit with different designs.
The dining room, kitchen, living room, and even the pantry.
It felt weird going into a house similar but different to mine.
Going up the carpeted stairs, Erica led me to her room on the second floor.
But before I could go inside, she went in first and told me to wait a bit.
“Uhm… come in,” Erica spoke shyly as she slowly opened the door to her room.
“Okay…” I uttered as I walked in.
Her second floor had three bedrooms of varying sizes and a shared bathroom like my house.
When I stepped foot into her room and glanced at the entirety of it.
I could tell she had the smallest room out of the three, just like me.
“Um… how is it?” Erica asked nervously.
“…How is what?”
“My room…”
“Well… it’s clean, I guess… it’s normal,” I answered honestly as I looked around her room.
Her room was just an ordinary one, with a single-sized bed, a desk filled with various school and office supplies items, a chair, and a small bookshelf filled with regular novels that I’d never pick up.
“It’s not what you expected, you mean?”
“Well… yeah, I imagined it to be more girly, I guess… and this is the first time I’ve ever been inside a girl’s room.”
“I’m not exactly your typical teenage girl, you know….”
“Yeah, I kind of already guess that.”
“So,” Erica voiced as she sat down on her bed. “Why did you suddenly want to see my room?”
“You already saw mine, so I thought I’d like to see yours.”
“Are you sure that’s all?”
“Maybe…”
Of course, I can’t tell her I’m about to kill her. I thought as I quietly held the kitchen knife I had brought with me hidden in my hoodie pocket.
Ever since I left my house and entered hers, I felt nothing but a sheer rush of adrenaline through my veins.
The pain, the guilt that I’ve held up in my heart, has temporarily vanished, or rather… with the amount of adrenaline I’m feeling, I couldn’t handle it.
That’s good. It’d just get in the way after all.
Right now, I’m nothing but a cold-blooded murderer.
“What do you mean by maybe?”
“Maybe I don’t know; I’ve just got this sudden urge to see it, that’s all.”
“Hm… you’re weird.”
“So are you.”
“Mngh…” Erica uttered as I thought I saw her cheeks redden a bit.
I feel sorry for her… I wonder what she’ll think, being killed by a boy she liked.
“Well… let’s get this over with,” I quietly muttered.
“Huh, you said something?”
“No.”
“Sure…”
Right now, I… need to stab the knife into her, so I’ll say sorry in advance for doing this.
“Sorry…”
“What’re you apologizing for?”
“Actually… I liked you back; after all, I know I rejected you hard and all that a couple of months ago but talking to you made me realize something and changed me.”
“Oh, I didn’t know that….” Erica responded, her eyes widened in surprise as she stood up.
“Yeah…”
Sorry for lying, but I need to do this. I thought as the next moment, Erica walked straight up to me. “Huh? What’re you suddenly getting close for suddenly?” I pretended to panic.
Erica quietly wrapped her arms around my upper body, embracing me in a hug.

“Thank you…, I know I told you that I moved on, but… I… couldn’t just give up on you like that.”
“Yeah…”
“Thank you, Iven… for accepting my feelings and confessing like this.”
“And I’m really sorry.”
“What for?”
“This.”
*Schnk*
“Ah…!” Erica cried in pain as a tear streamed down her right cheek. “…Why?”
With hastening speed, I pulled out the knife I kept hidden and stabbed her in the back as she continued to embrace me.
“Just to let you know… I told you not to get too close to me, so that’s why… I’m sorry, I’m really sorry.”
In the next moment, I pulled out the knife from her back, causing blood to spill out from her wound, and then I stepped back and kicked her back.
As she landed on her bed, the blood started seeping into the blankets.
I could quickly cover her mouth and stab the bloodied knife into her chest; blood then splatters onto my face.
“Mmmnggggghh!” Erica uttered with her voice muffled by the palm of my hand.
“Sorry…”
“Mngggggggh!”
Pull. Stab. Pull. Stab. Pull. Stab. Repeat.
“Mgnghghghh!!!”
I repeatedly stabbed the kitchen knife into her body until she had no longer moved.
“Mnggghghhhh....”
Frederica De Guzman had been successfully killed by my own hands.
At this moment, if you were to ask me if I was feeling sorrow or guilt of any kind.
Then my answer would be no.
“So… this is what it feels like to kill, huh?” I uttered as everything around me had been drenched in blood, including me.
I was on top of Erica’s lifeless corpse; she had died with an expression of agony and fear on her face.
This blood’s sticky. I thought as I released my hand from the handle of the knife.
“I did it… I actually did it….”
I stood up from her corpse and tried to stand on the bloodied carpet.
“Ahaha….hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!” I was laughing like mad at the realization of what I had done.
“I killed her, I killed her, I killed her, I killed her, I killed her… hahaha!”
My vision was blood red.
There was nothing but blood everywhere.
I couldn’t think straight.
Did I do it in reality?
Or could it just actually be a dream?
I don’t know.
But this blood… it feels all too real.
“Huuuh?” I voiced as I started to see the world spinning.
Wait... why is it spinning like this?
In the next moment, I fell into a puddle of blood.
My consciousness was starting to slip.
