“I see… that’s right, there’s was no way you’d even accept my feelings….” After hearing my response, Erica’s expression darkened as she said that in a self-deprecating tone.

“Was that all?” I asked.

“Yeah, the only reason I brought you out here was to confess after all.”

“I see… then, let’s go home.”

“Uh yeah… about that, you can go home first if you want to, I think….” Erica turned to look in the direction of the ocean. “I think I want to be alone for a while… you did reject me again after all.”

“Sure,” With a cold tone, I turned my back against her and started walking in the direction we came from.

Well… enjoy that scenery while you can… Because it’s the last time, you’ll be able to see the sun high up in the sky. I thought as a tired grin appeared on my face.

*Frederica’s POV*

“…” I sighed as I stepped out of the train doors. A quick look outside the glass walls showed it was already dark.

After being rejected by Iven for the second time, I… needed time to think for myself, so I ended up staring at the ocean view of the beach for several hours until I realized it was already late.

I was just that devasted after all…

Love can be a hurtful thing while it is also beautiful, like a thorny rose.

“I’m going home….” I muttered as I started walking through the nearly empty train station.

I really thought he’d accept.

When I saw Iven out and about, having fun with Alisa through the shopping center yesterday, I was very jealous.

He rejected me the first time because he apparently didn’t deserve it.

And now, for the second time being rejected, I can’t help but think it’s because of me.

I guess I’m just not attractive in his eyes at all. Of course, that’s how he’d think. Iven’s three years older than me; I probably look like a kid to him, a childish one at that.

Ugh… why is it Alisa and not me…? I’ve already gone over this many times since earlier but still can’t understand it.

What made him change his mind about it? I want to know so badly…

I continued to pander to my thoughts as I walked through the half-empty train station. Eventually, once I reach the area with the stairs and elevator where I exit.

A big gust of wind blows my hair for a few moments before it dies.

Is it going to rain? I thought as I tried to proceed forward, but I couldn’t move.

I could still move, but something was pulling on my clothes.

“Huh?” I uttered in confusion as I glanced at my surroundings but found no one there but me.

What’s happening? I questioned in my mind as I panicked but then suddenly.

*Schnk*

“Ah…” I uttered in confusion that when I looked down at my stomach, a single 13-inch kitchen knife stabbed me. “Ah…AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” I screamed in agony as blood spilled out from the wound.

The next moment, the mysterious force pulling on my clothes was gone. I dropped to the ground as the knife mysteriously pulled itself out.

“Ahhhhhhh!” I kept screaming in pain as I closed my eyes.

*Schnk*

“Ahhhh!” I screamed in pain as the knife was stabbed again, this time in my chest.

Stab.

Stab.

Stab.

Stab.

I was continuously stabbed and penetrated by the knife at different parts of my body.

I screamed and screamed, but the pain didn’t stop.

Dad….!

Mom…!

I cried out in my mind hoping they would come, but alas, there was no escaping from this situation.

There was no escape.

Eventually, my consciousness was thrown into darkness, presumably to never wake up again.

*Iven’s POV*

I stabbed and stabbed with all my might into Erica’s body.

“Ngh!” With my bloodlust motivating me, I thrust the kitchen knife into her body as she screamed in pain and agony.

Eventually, like in the dream world, Erica’s body dropped all resistance and stopped moving.

But I didn’t care.

I didn’t care that the job was finished and I had already killed her. Even after she died, I continued thrusting the knife into her lifeless corpse.

I wonder, how would I look to them if people could see me?

A deranged person, a monster, or someone with an unusual amount of bloodlust?

I don’t know.

As I continued to hack at Erica’s body, I was making a fountain of blood.

Continuously spilling on the floor, the walls, and even the elevator door behind me.

Because of the ability to transform my body into an astral state, no one could see nor hear me, not even the security cameras installed here.

To them, it’d look like the knife was floating on its own.

Several minutes after she died, I stopped and looked at her bloody corpse.

Her face had an agonizing expression.

Her clothes were drenched in blood.

“Haha…hahahahahaha!” I was already too far gone, so much so that I began to think this was fun.

I wasn’t even offering any form of apology to her.

Hours earlier, I had trampled on her heart, and now I took her life.

I’m the worst human being imaginable.

“Ah… I went too far,” I voiced after I snapped out of it and got ahold of my senseWell… nothing I can do about it… I thought.

But… should I just leave the corpse here?

I really want to have fun and chop it up to pieces and then throw it out myself, but I can’t exactly drag it anywhere, nor do I have a place to do the butchering in the first place.

“…” With a defeated sigh, I dropped the knife I bought from the shopping center before arriving at the meeting place onto the floor and left it with her corpse.

As I went down the stairs in astral form, I felt someone’s gaze on me, and then I turned and looked around my surroundings, only to find no one.

That’s weird… no one should be able to see me, right?

Unfortunately, as I was only by my lonesome self, I had no way to test whether this ability works other than going out on the streets and trying to get people’s reactions.

But that’s hard when you’re already treated like a ghost, even without being in astral form.

“Make no mistake however, plenty of supernatural beings also wander the world, it’s only the people not involved with the supernatural that this ability applies too.”

Lilith’s words echo in my mind.

Supernatural beings, huh… I wonder if I’ll get to see one outside of that world. I aimlessly thought as I continued on my way home.

***

“I see… how cruel you’ve become, Iven….” Some distance away from where Iven was, a single figure was watching him from afar.

“I guess it’s time to move; the game needs to progress hehe….”

The next moment, the figure disappeared without a trace into the wind.
