“…” I sighed as I looked over my phone screen, which had a certain dm opened up.
<Sure, I’ll go…>
After much consideration, I reluctantly accepted Erica’s invitation last night. It was currently the day after, Sunday afternoon.
After I accepted the invitation, Erica messaged me the details of where we’ll be meeting up and at what time.
Specifically, she told me to meet inside the train station and load up my card for the station if I didn’t have any balance. Apparently, we’ll be meeting up after lunch at around 1:30 PM.
“And so I’m here….” I muttered as I glanced at the station’s clock while I stood in the central area of the station with my back leaning against a pillar.
It was currently 1:15 PM, approximately 15 minutes before the arranged meeting time.
The weather outside was a bright clear, and sunny sky.
Speaking from the last time I was here, the number of people swarming the station was, as usual; nothing seems to have changed.
“You’re early… you’ve been waiting long?” Suddenly, a certain someone spoke to me out of the blue while I was spaced out.
Turning my head slightly to the right was a girl with shoulder-length black hair wearing a black and white checkered coat with a white tank top underneath it and some blue jeans.
The girl was Erica.
“…No, not that long,” I replied.
“Good, then let’s get going,” Erica added with a slight smile.

After aimlessly following her through the station, we finally got on a train without hassle. We sat on the second floor with an entire section of seats to ourselves as the train seemed half-empty.
“So, would you mind telling me where we’re going?” I asked, as my seat was facing her.
“Hmm… not yet,” Erica cheekily smiled as if she were teasing me.
“…” I sighed, “If you say so….”
Not deciding to push her about it any further, I simply leaned back against my seat and decided to enjoy the moving scenery in the window to my right.
Three days are such a pain… couldn’t it have been a week instead? I grumbled in my mind.
Surely enough, with my chaotic eyes of suggestion and the ability to get my body into an astral state, I could quickly kill any person within a matter of minutes, depending on the situation.
But because it depends on the situation, in my current circumstances, It’ll be hard to not get suspicion cast upon myself even with my current supernatural abilities that won’t even cross any investigator’s mind.
I couldn’t just entirely rely on the abilities themselves.
I have to combine logic with the supernatural.
That’s the only way I’ll be able to thrive on this.

“Here we are….” Erica said as we both stepped foot into the sand.
“Why… did you bring me here?” I asked. “Is this the place you wanted to show me?”
“Hmm…”
After a long train ride of about thirty to forty minutes, we had apparently gotten to our destination and got off the train. Erica promptly led me to this place.
A beautiful white beach.
We kept walking towards the ocean as the gentle cold breeze hit me and her face, a flock of birds was flying high in the sky.
And a few people, from little kids to the elderly, were enjoying themselves on the beach’s white sands.
“Why you ask… It’s because I have something important to tell you,” Erica spoke.
“Something important?” I repeated.
“Yes, it’s something really important,” Erica added.
It’s just the two of us, she brought me to a beach far away from our neighborhood; Erica’s… going to confess, isn’t she?
Wait, she already told me she moved on when I rejected her first confession but… why is she doing this?
What point is there to confessing to me again?

I can’t understand it.
“I’ll tell you now….” Erica voiced as she stopped as the ocean waves reached her feet.
Glancing at my surroundings for a few moments, she led me to a spot on the beach with less populated people.
Usually, she’d confess at sunset, but given how we’re still kids and had to be home before dark, I guess that wasn’t an option for her. I thought.
Erica tightly clenched her right fist as I saw her cheeks redden with her biting her lip slightly; it was as if she was embarrassed and nervous about the situation.
Breathing in, she opened her mouth.
“I…! I like you…!” Erica voiced loudly with determination and passion.
“I like you, I love you…! You’re the only person I’d want to be with in the entire world…! I love the way how you’d comfort me in our chats, I love the way how you don’t make fun of me or even judge me for things that people find weird… I love the way how you’re so kind to me and… I love everything about you…!”
“Erica…” I quietly uttered her name.
“Will you go out with me? Will you date this lonely me?” Erica added, looking me straight in the eyes as if she had cast away all her shame and embarrassment.
“Fff… hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah…!” I burst out laughing.
“Huh? Eh?” Erica uttered in confusion.
Ah, oops.
“Ah, sorry, I didn’t mean to laugh….” I said.
“Oh no, it’s fine….” Erica replied.
“Well… before I answer, why?” I voiced. “Why would you confess to me again?”
When I finished uttering my question, Erica’s expression had darkened.
As if she was confronted with a reality she didn’t want to deal with.
“Actually… I saw you and Alisa yesterday on a date, of course I didn’t watch the whole thing but… I saw that you were having fun… you were smiling,” Erica explained. “You told me, that the reason you didn’t accept was because you didn’t deserve love, but… when I saw you yesterday, I thought that maybe things had changed, maybe you changed your mind about it….”
“I jealous… so, I confessed to you again now before Alisa could steal you away; I couldn’t bear the fact that you were with someone else….”
“Erica…” I uttered.
“That’s why, one more time I’ll confess, will you go out with me? As a lover?”
This is troublesome… but my mind will not change so quickly.
If it was me from before, I’d hesitate somewhat as this is a guaranteed chance at happiness, but… it’s too late for that.
It’s too late.
I’ve already accepted the entire contract with a devil.
I’ve reached the point of no return.
And frankly, I don’t care anymore.
“…” I sighed as the breeze suddenly picked up for a few moments.
“Sorry, I can’t accept your feelings,” I said outright.
