On the scene, the leaders of the army knew very clearly about this sixth victory. They would have had to pay a small price to defeat the Gollime monsters. An instrumental factor of their clean victory was the extraordinary research team. The size of the extraordinary research team was officially increased again.
After three days of rest and reflection, the forces of Gaia went on to the seventh match. The enemy was on the weaker side, it was a medium-level realm. Its inhabitants were very common in the masses of realm rulers.
Having no trouble at all, the Great Discovery Army easily won once again.
Match eight, a crucial one came and passed. The opponent was the strongest Terra Stars had spectated since the start of the group stages. But in front of the Great Discovery Army, there was no resistance or contest, less than half an hour later the match ended. Terra Stars had won eight consecutive wins.
She had not won the group yet, her final match was a dark horse contestant. Who also won all eight of the previous matches he stopped Terra Stars from claiming the qualification to proceed into the top 32.
As discussion about the match fills the teacher’s room. One of the two contestants was pushing the work of planning onto someone else. Terra Stars gathered videos of the dark horse’s matches. She produced a light projection to show Kai and the extra ordinary research group involved in the battles.
Kai led the group to watch the videos over and over again to plan. Terra Stars instead checked the results of other groups and her classmates. Most of the other matches had already produced a qualifier, the winner of the group with clear gaps above the rest.
With the results of the other groups sorted, only the first group’s final match was of interest. By this time all the teachers were weary about Terra Stars’ strength. But favour still stood with the dark horse student who they had more information on.
“The student John Smith is quite good. His initial diameter was less than 25 kilometres, yet he created such a powerful species.” Said a teacher, many others agreed.
They were all familiar with the realm situation of the current biggest dark horse, John Smith. He had created a medium-level realm but had an extremely rare and powerful main species. Majority of the experienced educators looked forward to the might of the basilisk species.
For the group from Polaris No. 7 High School, the situation of the other four students had been settled. Only Marceline Nabu, the sixth seed of the competition, stood out. Her strength overwhelmed the rest of the group getting a quick nine match win streak.
For Ban Anaban and the extra boy, their strength was considered average at best. They won less and lost more. Being eliminated in the group stage like 90% of the competitors.
Mark Ferrous who was close to Marceline Nabu’s starting point, was not lucky. He went into the group consider the death group. He had a smooth start and won the first six matches. Come the seventh and eight match he faced the reasons it was considered a death group. Faced with a genius from No.1 High School and Polaris Military High School each time, he lost both times.
John Smith, considered a dark horse in group one, looked on with arrogance. He may be a lanky guy, but he felt powerful and proud. On the approach to the battle rooms, he glanced at Terra Stars. Arrogantly looked down at the bored girl, he entered the battle room without any words.
The door slammed behind him as he tried acting imposing.
Once inside he sat in the chair and looked at the panels in the room, he said, “What use is the initial diameter of a realm? I still created a powerful civilization.
“Getting out of the group is just the first step, the final is becoming the champion of this competition!” He proclaimed, thinking himself the main character of this competition.
In the opposite room, John Smith’s first stepping stone, turned her attention to watching her realm. The celebrations in the cities, parties in large homes, all kinds of events held by the general populace were skimmed over. She checked up on Kai and the research group. She could easily tell they were prepared.
The connection activated, the Great Discovery Army entered the door of light again. Seeing the realm used as a battlefield this time, Terra Stars eye twitched. A complete desert full of loose sand.
“My luck still sucks at suspenseful moments.” Terra Stars sighed. Her realm awakening had bad luck initially, on Earth it would rain when she forgot her umbrella, the milk carton would have only a sliver of milk left when she went to use it. Such cases taught her that she was just unlucky.
A desert terrain like this was exceptionally beneficial for the snake-like basilisks. If you spelt snake backwards and evolved it, you would get a creature very similar to the basilisks of John Smith’s realm.
In the viewing room, Janus Extroid and Buzz Starmash couldn’t help but frown.

“It turned out to be desert terrain for this battlefield.”
“This time she is in trouble. The combat power of basilisk should be at least doubled from terrain advantage”
Along with their soured reactions, the group of teachers discussed the topic of the terrain and how Terra Stars was at a disadvantage.
She, who was doubted, watched the large kobra-like snakes. Their bodies rose three metres to flare their inflatable neck hoods. Their bodies covered in thick purple and black scales, a sinister presence shone from them under the light of the realm.
Basilisks continued to spill out from John Smith’s side, far more than the previous opponents who were only sometimes over 100. The basilisk stopped appearing after the 300th.
Normally considered not many, but for an extraordinary species in a realm that was only a month old, they were considered a lot. But this time, 300 did not reach one tenth of the size brought by the Great Discovery Army. Kai’s planning was serious, and he had more soldiers join the group. The forces from Gaia reached 5,000.
With the start of the match, the Great Discovery Army followed the previous way of fighting. Forming a giant shield formation followed by the long spears, and then the huge number of archers that had only increased with the increase of the army.
“Basilisks, Kill the pests! Defeat this stepping stone!” John Smith’s voice sounded above the giant snakes.
The intelligence of the basilisks was far higher than ordinary snakes, they developed community and language well. John Smith made himself into a god to them, he guided the growth and cultivation of their communities from above.
The twin tailed giant snake creatures were primitive and easily influenced by religion. They worship their god very much. With John Smith’s orders, they enthusiastically complied.
The largest of them led as they slithered through the sand, all of them kept their heads up and hoods wide. They glid across the sand that would trap creatures with feet.
“Archers, fire!” Kai personally ordered.
The 3,000 strong group of archers released their bowstrings. Arrows shot out in an instant, all aimed at the fastest approaching basilisk.
The arrows blocked the sky and descended like locusts to a ripe field. In the audience of teachers, they were briefly shocked at the increased size of might.
Facing this terrible rain of arrows, the large basilisk stopped its charge. It lowered its head and hood and slithered forwards a little with its snout digging into the soft sand and lowering it. The soft underbelly side of its body sunk into the sand. Only the extra hard and thick purple and black scales of its back were left exposed.
A series of clangs rang as the locust swarm of arrows fell upon and around it. There was a crisp sound, but no damage occurred to the scales. Some arrows completely slid against the smoothness of the scales.
As the sky cleared again, the wave of arrows all lands. None proved effective as the basilisk rolled its body out of the sand and reinitiates its forward charge with its head held high.
“Its your greatest killer move, how could I be unprepared?” John Smith scoffed at the scene.
His arrogance grew and he sneers, “With these ordinary arrows, don’t even think of about breaking the defenses of my basilisks.”
