Watching the rain of arrows pouring into the sky, the martial artists sneered and cut the arrows down, disregarding the clear danger they posed to their comrade. Gradually each warrior begun to feel sore in their hands. The raining barrage of arrows was seemingly endless.
In the years of preparation by Babylon, no one could be sure how many arrows they had produced, all for this moment. The constant arrows made the warriors unable to approach at all.
The three-person hunting teams showed their prowess at this time.
“Ugh!” another scream came from the martial artists side.
A large man fell from the air, he tightly held his leg. Of the three sections of the body, upper, middle, and lower, the lower was the hardest to block for. The highly skilled three-person teams were very crafty, catching any target if the target was not careful.
“Ack!”
“Arghh!”
A pair of screams from the martial artists who were close to the other fell too. One in the thigh, and the other in the belly. This level of injury was not fatal to a martial artist, but it made it impossible for them to continue fighting in a short period of time.
One after another, more screams rang out as the battle progressed and the work of the specialized teams continued. The martial artists begin feeling daunted in the face of the huge shield formation. They had yet to reach it, yet they were already tired. Growing timid they no longer pressed forward.
“Trash, a bunch of trash!” Maxwell Dustwell couldn’t help but shout.
He yelled, “Those are ordinary people, what are you doing? How can you end up like this against ordinary people?!”
“Rush over, rush into their team!”
“Tigers enter the flocks!”
“What follows is a one-sided slaughter!”
Maxwell Dustwell frantically shouted. Influenced by him, the remaining martial artists recovered some courage and went into a frenzy. No longer trying to keep order, they were disorderly and frenzied.
“Free fire!”
Seeing these chaotic martial artists headed towards the shield formation, the commanding general gave the order directly.
No longer cooperating, all archers fired once they saw an opportunity. One arrow after another formed a chain falling upon the wild martial artists. Striking their weak points, the shots were brutally effective.
Under the dense rain of arrows that chained together, no martial artists could possibly survive. Close, yet so far, the martial artists begun to drop. More than a dozen killed by arrows branded fear into the remaining martial artists.
Facing the 3,000 strong Great Discovery Army group, fear filled their bodies. One man screamed and turned to flee, frantically running away. With the lead of one, the rest fled in the same manner. They left the big man that was the lead alone
“Shoot him!” Kai himself ordered.
Immediately, all archers aim at the one target, thousands of arrows fell upon him. Even as the strongest of all the martial artists, he couldn’t resist. With horrified eyes, the man became riddled with arrows. The martial artists continued to flee at this sight.
Maxwell Dustwell clenched his hands tightly, his nails dug into his palm as he shook. The big man just killed was trained hard by him. A rare talent to him, but now he died in the battlefield.
“The whole army, pursuit!” Kai waved his spear and pointed in the direction the martial artists fled.
The shield formation, spear formation, and teams of archers slowly moved forward. Because of the limited size of the battlefield realm, the space was smaller than the usual unowned realms used as practice. They caught up to the agile martial artists, their encirclement cornered them. The martial artists trembled like a frightened sheep.
Closing the gap, another round of arrows were fired by the Great Discovery Army. Without room to retreat, the martial artists became a living target. The dying screams constantly echoed through the battlefield.
“Surrender! I surrender!” Maxwell Dustwell reluctantly declared.
No matter how unwilling, he raised his hand helplessly. If he didn’t surrender then all of his hard work would be shot dead. The referee by his room immediately terminated the match. A white flag appeared in the sky above the field of the martial artists. The match was declared over.
The first battle was won by The Great Discovery Army, step by step.

“Withdraw troops!” Kai waved his hand and loudly ordered.
The small part of the Great Discovery Army slowly withdrew. Even in victory, militant order was maintained. To them, this victory was not exciting. The opponent was incomparably weaker than those extraordinary species that they had fought during alien expeditions as practical experience.
For them, it was the expected result. Martial artists were the most researched extraordinary species, so they were naturally very familiar with them. It would be strange if they did not win this battle.
…
Within the teacher’s viewing room. Janus Estroid and Buzz Starmash both breathed a sigh of relief. Of the five students participating from No. 7 High School, Terra Stars’ opponent was the strongest for the first round. They held great doubts and uncertainties.
“It’s not bad, the big realm can have many ordinary people. In the next matches, she should be able to win a lot of victories.” Janus Estroid said.
Buzz Starmash nodded in agreement.
The two people watched the battle. They saw the army of ordinary people built by Terra Stars was well equipped. The strength was not weak either. Within them, the hope of a few more victories grew.
After the first round. The troops of all the realm rulers naturally should need rest. This kind of competition if it was reality it would be one a day at most. But with the powers of realm rulers, the time in reality was short, but the rules helped the participants accelerate their realms. Otherwise, the group stages alone would take half a month.
The rules allowed each realm ruler to decide the speedup ratio themselves. Terra Stars went with the standard guideline, one hour in the real world was three days in the realm space. The rhythm was about right for the Great Discovery Army.
An hour later, the second match begun. In Gaia, the three days had passed. After three days of repairing, maintenance, and recovery, the Great Discovery Army once again stepped out of the passage full of energy.
The second opponent was also a martial arts realm. Compared to the first opponent its strength was much weaker. Within Terra Stars’ group, half of the students were martial arts realms.
The Great Discovery Army completed this battle with more ease. They defeated the enemy without breaking a sweat.
Third match, the enemy was a realm of Astral Qi energy. Practically the same to True Qi at this stage. It was impossible for them to beat the Great Discovery Army.
The Great Discovery Army had a total of 30,000 people. Dividing into ten teams, they swapped every match. A new team appeared, so that each team would be tempered in the new experience.
Fourth and Fifth battle were weak opponents. The realm ruler students surrendered after they saw the performance of the Great Discovery Army previously. As the external opinion, there were no truly favored participants in Terra Stars’ group at this point.
For the sixth battle, the opponent was unique. It was a tough enemy for the Great Discovery Army. The realm had an unusual monster, similar to that of slimes they have experienced in the past, an ugly creature called “Gollime Monster” were the extraordinary species of the opponent’s realm.
Gollime Monster’s strength was not strong, but it had a strong mental ability. It was capable of speaking and inflicting confusion on people with its words. The soldiers of Gaia were caught by surprise at first, some became controlled by the Gollime and attacked allied.
The soldiers around those controlled quickly discovered it and immediately stopped their actions. No casualties were achieved. The Gollime monster burrow into the ground and hide in caves. The Great Discovery Army could defeat them but acted cautiously. This created a stalemate between the two sides
Until the extraordinary research team came up with some results after a series of planned trials and observations.
The Achilles heel of the Gollime was found. They were greedy, greedier than the legendary dragons Terra Stars knew from Earth’s fiction. These creatures were entranced when they see a shiny gems or gold coins.
For a single piece of gold, they would fight between themselves. To take advantage of this, Kai had a batch of shiny coins and crystal-clear gems from Gaia transported over. Using a trebuchet, they flung them to the enemy side of the field.
The Great Discovery Army sat a certain distance away and watched as the Gollime monsters fought amongst themselves. With no pressing threat, the sanity of these creatures was no match for their greedy nature.
After some success with this method, a member of the research team came up with another idea. They attached the coins to arrows, when fired the creatures did not dodge. They instead moved into the trajectory to try and grab the coins.
The realm ruler of the Gollime monster surrendered directly. He felt depressed when he saw the state of the battlefield. Who told him that they only had greed for Ash Nazg.
With that, Terra Stars achieved six relaxing victories. Her only actions was to prompt the army into the battlefield and out of it again. She was the spectator with the best view, getting to watch over from within the individual beings in battle.
