Amidst the rubble, a lone television flickered to life. The video on the screen showed two people sitting at a table, appearing to be giving a news report.
"Deities - are they truly the rulers of fate, or just a figment of our imagination? Some say they are the embodiment of goodness and will save us from the darkness that threatens to consume us. Others claim they will bring destruction and plunge the world into eternal darkness." The man with gray hair and a light beard spoke, turning to his companion.
The woman, who appeared to be in her early thirties, replied,
"It's…quite a difficult decision to make, but I have to agree with you, Clark. Deities are something that humanity should tread cautiously around."
"That's right, if we won't be careful then the apocalypse will surely happen…."
The conversation dragged on, but the world outside the television screen was rapidly deteriorating. The once bright skies had turned dark. Buildings crumbled to the ground, their ruins littering the streets.
Then the scene changes to a person, walking through the streets of the ruined city. He wore a sleek black and blue suit with a hoodie that covers his head, its dark black base, and bold blue accents, which stood out in stark contrast to the destroyed buildings that surrounded him. His face was entirely covered by a sleek white mask that, left only two glowing blue eyes visible. The suit was then completed with a pair of black shoes.
He stopped in front of a pile of rubble on one of the buildings. He kneeled down, scanning the rubble.
Seconds later,
"Found it"
He pulled out a gun from his waist. The deep blue energy emanating from it was the only warning before a loud
"BOOM"
Echoed through the empty streets. The rubble turned to dust, but the person was unaffected by the blast.
He approached the resulting hole and without hesitation, jumped down into it. The fall lasted for what seemed like an eternity before he landed with a thud at the bottom.
He found himself in a deep dark underground without any light whatsoever. He turned on his night vision and quickly scanned the area for any potential dangers, but found none.
With that in mind, he made his way toward the supposed cave and saw a gate at the near end. He stopped in front of it, the gate proved to be impenetrable by normal means by his understanding.
Undeterred, he pulled out his gun and with a loud

"BOOM,"
The door was reduced to rubble.
He cautiously stepped over it, his eyes scanning the room as he moved forward. The space was grand, lined with statues on either side, each bearing a sword that had been driven deep into the ground. The statues seemed to watch him as he passed, their eyes following his every move.
As he reached the far end of the room, he saw a throne sitting before him. It was cracked and broken, but still carried an air of regality. He felt a pull towards it and began to approach it.
But as he reached out to touch the throne, he heard a sound behind him. In a split second, he spun around, gun drawn. Before him, stood a monstrous creature, towering over him and pure black in color. Its eyes glowed red and its jagged white teeth glimmered in the dim light. Without hesitation, he fired a blast of energy at it
*BOOM*
The creature dodged with lightning-fast reflexes and let out a deafening roar as it charged toward him. But he was ready. He leaned to the side and jumped over it, watching as the creature crashed into the throne. To his surprise, the throne was completely unaffected by the impact.
‘So it's true’ he thought to himself as he turned to face the creature once more.
‘Time to end this’
He opened his palms to reveal a stream of radiant blue energy coalescing into a sword.
The creature let out another roar as it charged toward him, but he was ready. He tilted his head to the side and with a sudden movement, he disappeared from sight.
The creature's eyes widened in surprise as it felt a presence land on its back. It turned to see the person standing there, sword in hand. Then the person plunged the sword deep into the creature's body.
Specks of blue seemed to surround the creature's body as it releases a blood-curdling roar, its very essence erupting in a brilliant blue light. The person's sword flared with power as he pulled it out, the blue light seeping from the creature's eyes and with a final explosive burst, the creature vanquished in a shower of black ichor. The person was left standing in the middle of the room, covered in black liquid. With a quick flick of his wrist, the sword disappeared as he raised a hand to his ear
"This is ET01, the package is found. I repeat, the package is found," he said to his communicator.
"Roger that ET01, we are sending troops to your area. Over," came the response before the transmission cut off.
Then, the person, or ETO1 was left alone in the darkness once more, but all he needed to know is that his mission had been a success.
