Chapter 8: [8] Empire Invitation

(2 day after the demon attack)

*2 day sure went by fast after the demon attack has happen.*

The villager has been repairing their wall and house after the demon attack ended, i could walk the street to see many builder and damaged building as we walk by. The children are playing again happily as the bird chirp in the background, it has become the peaceful village that we know today.

This was an casual day where i sit on Mizi shoulder as she walk to the market area to buy some ingredient to make some food. Nina is right now busy healing the injured in the infirmary. While Mizi sometime help the builder carry some wood and nail, the builder give their thank to Mizi as she helped them one by one. 

"Thank you Mizi!"

"No problem!"

After helping all the builder in her area. Mizi went to the market area where a bunch of people gather to buy some ingredient for themselves, it was quite hard to walk through the crowd. A vendor spotted us in the crowd and yell.

"Look! It the hero girl!"

The vendor point at the confused Mizi as people look at her. People began gathering around Mizi as they handed gift to Mizi.

"Have this fruit savior!"

"You deserve this!"

"Take this as my treat!"

Mizi was trying to decline their gift to no avail as they force her to accept it.

"You don't need to!"

"No no. Accept it!"

"Fine"

So Mizi accepted all of the people gift as her magic inventory fill with fruit and vegetable alike. And that wasn't enough to make them satisfy, they even wanted to pat my head!

"Mommy mommy! It the hero monster, it so cute!"

"You are right"

*Master. Should i let's them touch you?*

*Yeah it shouldn't be much of a problem*

One by one the villager queue in a straight line just to pet my head or something like that, and wouldn't you know it as it was longer than i thought!

*Im starting to regret this already*

Mizi sit on some chair while i sit on both of her hand, the villager usually just gave me some pat, tickle and some even try to hug my body.

To be honest, it feel amazing. It felt like i was in a spa or getting massage by people. I accepted all of their touch against me as i sit there relaxed. 

"Hmph. When can i get master attention"

*I will let's you touch me when we get home later okay*

"Master has to fulfil the promise okay?"

*Yeah yeah*

It was finally over probably by 7 minutes now, it was absurdly long. I guess ot all worth it in the end.

*I guess you don't need to by vegetable anymore?*

"I supposed"

*Anyway Mizi. Where are you planning to go next?*

"Im planning to go the graveyard to pay my respect to the fallen one"

Oh yeah, I did heard there was approximately 13 deceased, 3 missing and 45 injured from the battle against the demon. Most of the deceased were male and work as a adventurer, But i was glad that there wasn't much that lost their life from the battle, although i still felt bad for the family of the deceased.

*Ah i see*

Mizi went to the graveyard that was filled with flower and food,I even saw some family crying infront of their death. The pain when you lose your loved one, it was just like me when i was little losing my parents in such young age, it was hard to overcome and i often feel depressed everytime i think of my parents.

"Master what are you thinking about?"

*Ah nothing.*

Mizi walk to the grave and began praying infront of their grave, it the same for every grave as she pray. She encounter a woman and a boy and a daughter by one of the grave. The children was crying at their father grave with the woman tearing up a bit, when i look to them, the son has the hair of human while the mother and daughter has the characteristic of a elf with those pointy ear and blonde hair.

Mizi lay down on the grave and patted the woman in the back, the woman began speaking.

"Do you wanna hear a story?"

Mizi was confused at first but nodded.

"Alright then, listen well"

*Flashback to the past where there was a elf child and a human child playing together*

"Ahahah Laven!"

"Mason! You meanie"

The elf girl chase after the human kid as they play happily. Their parent was watching from far away to see their children playing happily.

"This remind me when you were a kid haha"

The female human began making fun of the male human as she laugh in enjoyment.

"What about when you tripped over a rock?"

"!"

The female human shut him off before he speak more further.

"Don't ever mention that incident again!"

"Haha"

The male human laugh as the female human punch him in the head.

"Oh you are here Gul!"

A male elf and female elf appeared and began walking toward the human couple.

"Did you see my child?"

"Ah she is over there"

The female human pointed to the 2 child playing together.

"Ah! I was so worried when she run off"

"Hahaha she always does that"

The female human spoke "They look cute together" 

"Yes it is" The female elf agreed

"My family was the master of bow, and i was the first child to be born from it. My family on good term with my husband family, where they specialize in sword art."

*Fast forward to our 18+*

Cheering noise was heard with a priest in the middle.

"Now you shall kiss!"

The male human kiss the elf girl in the cheek as they both kissed passionately.

"You are now husband and wife! Congratulations!"

"Woo!!"

"This day was the best day i ever live. We got married and bought a house to live, it was the happiest day ever"

We both signed up for the adventurer guild after that.

*Fast forward 5 year*

"This is the day where has our twin. A human and elf newborn"

"They look so cute together!"

"I agreed with you Laven!"

I hold the 2 beautiful and cute newborn in my arm, with my husband by my side.

"I decided to quit adventuring after that to take care of my lovely husband and children "

*Fast forward to 2 day earlier when the demon attack happen*

Mason was out in the adventurer guild as i take care of my children. I was just cooking casually as i prepare it for my children until the siren goes off.

"A Demon rift has appeared outside the village! All normal citizen must go to the Village safe house while to all of those that can fight must partake in the fight against the Demon as we protect our village"

"I was surprised by the siren and look for my children in the main room. They was crying due to how loud the siren are"

"Maven! Lasi! Come with me!"

"I picked up my children with my hand and walk to the safe house as i was running, my thought was filled with my husband"

"Mason! Be safe please!"

"There was one mistake i made. I didn't bring my weapon and that the mistake that got my husband kill"

"As i run faster to the safe house due to my high agility as part of the elf bloodline, eventually i tripped on a rock while running away"

"Agh!"

"Mother!"

A demon spotted us and come charging forward to my direction.

"Run away! Just leave me here! Go met up with your father!"

I screamed to the children who stubbornly doesn't want to leave me.

"No! I don't wanna lose you!"

My children tried to make me stand up, it was not effective as they are still children with low strength.

"Leave me now! go to the safe house! don't make your mother become disappointed"

"But mother"

"Go Now!"

The children get up and run to the safe house while looking at me with tear on their face. I looked at them with a smile as this is the day where i should have died. The demon charge to me and began swinging it axe toward my defenseless self on the ground as i accepted my fate as i stand there with my eye close.

I thought to myself. "Is this finally the day where i died? My life was too perfect, there was nothing such as perfect life. I should have known"

As the axe come toward my head, a familiar voice was heard.

"LAVEN! Are you okay!"

"Mason!"

The person infront of me was Mason, my husband.

"What are you doing here Laven!"

"I can't move my leg! it refusing to move a single muscle."

The man get something from his pocket and throw it toward Laven. It was a healing potion

"Use this to heal yourself! you need to run to the safe house ASAP , i will take care of this!"

"What about you!"

"Don't worry!"

I drink the healing potion in second as i can feel the pain recovering. I stand up 

"If you recover already, Run now!"

"But i wanna help you!"

"You can't! Who will take care of our children if you are dead!"

I got myself together and run to the safe house as my children look at me with tear. I was pretty worried about my husband, so i look behind to see a scene where i will never forget.

My husband head was launched into the air with blood spattered everywhere as his body fall to the ground. My eye was shocked, i was speechless and i close my hand on top my children eye to not make them see such gruesome scene, The safe house door began closing as my husband head roll to the ground before the door finally shut.

I was thinking to my self.

"If i has my weapon! My husband wouldn't died! Why! WHY! Im so useless!"

"I was very sad, i can't describe my emotion clearly, it was like a void"

"We had to stay until the attack ended, it felt like eternity back there."

"As i stand there emotionless over my husband death, my children was worried about me"

"Mother?"

"My children was worried when i hasn't said anything for a while" 

I looked at them with a fake smile "Yes my children, what wrong?"

"Why do you look so sad?"

"It was nothing"

After 2 hour of staying inside, the door was finally opened to reveal the destroyed building with blue sky. I saw my husband corpse wrap with clothes as they carried it away.

As i stand there powerless. It was hell, is this Fate? I don't know, I don't know what i have done wrong? Why did i deserve this? 

*Back to the present*

"Thank you for listening to my story."

Laven was surprised to see Mizi crying her eye out, even i was crying too but it was unnoticeable. 

*This world is way too cruel!*

"UWAAGH! Your life must have been tough!"

"No no it fine, stop crying now"

Laven summon a tissue from nowhere and swipe Mizi tear.

"Thank you so much Mizi"

"Huh?"

"You saved other people that would have the same experience as me. Thank you"

"Right, I have something to give you"

"?"

Laven reached into her magic inventory similar to Mizi. It was a shiny bow.

"You can have my skill book that i made for myself"

"!"

*1 skill book!*

Mizi was shocked for her to give something valuable, Just one of this can buy 3 house in total.

"Is it alright for me to take this?"

Laven nodded. "Yes it is, you deserve it"

Mizi took the magic book and put it back to the magic inventory.

"Look like i have to go now, thank you once again"

Laven wave goodbye as her child followed too. Mizi also wave goodbye at their leaving.

"Thank you missy!"

"Goodbye! Wish you luck!"

Laven and her children left the village to find a new safe home after that.

We go back to the inn, with Mizi preparing the necessary equipment as she began cooking with the ingredient she got. I jumped from Mizi shoulder to the table as i just lay there. Nina has finished her work way earlier too, even Lizy joined the party as she was invited by Nina to go with her.

"Lizy! Why are you here? aren't you supposed to be at the adventurer guild?"

"Hmm how should i say this, Nina invited me to go, at first i decline since there was influx of adventurer. The guild master notice me that i haven't had any break since after the demon attack, so he gave me a day off as a result"

"Ah i see"

I could already smell the delicious food Mizi prepared as the aroma tickle our nose. Few minutes later she came out with alot of food in hand.

"The food is ready!"

The table was now filled with food ranging from meat to vegetable, Except mine because my plate is straight up meat. Mizi sit down near me as all of them starting to pray together before eating.

"Thank you for the food!"

I forgot i was a crocodile so i follow them without knowing.

"KROOAK!!" [I tried making the sound effect for crocodile sorry T_T]

Everyone look at me with confusion before i realise why they are staring at me.

"Did this monster actually make that noise?"

"It sound so cute too!"

*Ah, i did a mistake*

The girl look at me very intensely making me very nervous. Mizi could tell i was nervous from the attention so she stand up.

"Eat your food! Can't you tell master is nervous with all of you looking at him?"

"Im so sorry"

*Ah thank you Mizi*

"No problem master!"

Everyone ate the food to their fullest, it was the greatest memory inside Leandra Inn!

After they have finished eating, they helped around the Leandra inn, Lizy already left for work while the rest clean the dishes and even play some pillow fight. It was enjoyable, although i can't participate on it making me sad.

"Don't be sad master! You are our joy!"

Nina nodded her head multiple time.

*Sigh*

We played for a hour before we end the day sleeping together. With me in between them.. Again.

*Seriously! These girl need to stop making me go between them*

I end up falling asleep too after thinking for a while.

*What do the next day have for us? I still need to know what inside those magic book. Maybe i will ask Mizi when she woke up, Good night World!*

The Next Day > 

I woke up first when i heard some knock knock from the door, the sun is shining from the window. 

*Mizi, there someone on the door.*

She wake up immediately upon hearing my voice.

"Huh"

Mizi walk to the door just to be greeted with someone claiming to be from the capital.

"Hello! is there someone name Mizi and Nina here? The empire has summoned you"

"HUH???"

*What happen?*

"The empire has summon me apparently"

*What that?*

"The empire of Ceribo is one of the biggest nation in the whole world, the amount of military power can easily kill a dragon and with the economy of almost the whole world. And all of it was rule over by 1 person Valeknight the III, and only the king can summon anyone within the Land they reside"

*Is there any way reason why you were summoned? maaybe ask him why you are summoned to the empire*

"May i ask why i was summoned by the king?"

"Hmm, It was stated in the paper that Mizi and Nina are to be summoned to grant them medal for their bravery"

"Master, Do you wanna go to the empire city?"

*I mean, i do wanna know about the outside world even more. Why not*

"Okay!"

"Very well, we will accept"

"Alright, we have prepare a carriage for you to go in"

Mizi wake Nina up as they dress them selves.

"Nina wake up, we need to go to the empire"

"Emp-Empire!"

Nina was jumping with joy.

"I never knew i was invited to the capital! I always wanted to go to the capital my whole life, it has a bunch of knowledge i want!"

"Ah ha, Let's go now"

We wave goodbye at Leandra as we walked out of the Inn, we walked to the entrance fill with people.

"Why are there so many people today?"

The village chief notice us and come forward to us.

"Mizi! You are summoned to the empire! Isn't that great?"

"How do you know?"

"I already notified everyone here of you leaving for the empire"

"Is that why there are alot of people here?"

"Yes"

The escort come to us.

"Ah lady Mizi, is time for you to go now"

"Alright"

We walked through the crowd to the entrance, we got inside the carriage as the girl wave goodbye to the villager.

"Goodbye Hero! Thank for saving our village!"

"Stay safe Hero!"

Lizy, and Leandra wave goodbye at us.

The girl wave goodbye at them inside the carriage and finally it time for us to travel to the Empire!

*New life await on the empire!*

"AGH!"

A girl with a horn and a tail was thrown to the ground filled with bruise.

"We hit the jackpot! we are gonna be rich today!"

"Now stay here you little missy, we are gonna be rich today!"

The girl got up and run toward the bar with her hand covered with red scale.

"Release me!"

"Ahahaha! Release you? What a joke"

The 3 guy left the girl alone inside the room. 

The girl try to cast a spell to break out just for it to dissipated immediately. A sudden lightning shock her body as she fall to the ground again.

"AHHH"

"This damn collar!"

The girl walk to the corner with only her arm, the girl crouched up in a ball position as she started to cry in her arm.

"My mother told me i would become stronger when i grown up, So why can't i do anything about this collar!"

"I was just trying to catch the butterfly.."

*Girl memory flashback*

Far away in the green mountain stand a high cave, inside was filled with gold,bone and treasure as a single egg in the middle of the hoard. 2 large red dragon could be seen beside the egg as a crack appeared on the egg as tiny legs began appearing. It began moving around hitting a wall in the process showing a newborn red dragon. 

"RWOAR?"

The newborn red dragon walk the hoard until it hit something scaly. The dragon began speaking with telepathy.

*Aren't our kid cute?*

*I agree darling. Let's teach her first how to not run into the wall*

A white light began enveloping the 2 red dragon as they shrink and shrink into their human form. The light scare the newly dragon as it run away inside the gold hoard.

"My child, come here"

The newborn dragon felt a link between her and this human, The dragon got closer and closer to it. The red dragon mother patted it on the head.

"That our daughter!"

"MWAK?"

"Are you hungry? Mother got some food for you"

"RWOR! RWOR!"

"Haha i knew you are! here you go my daughter"

The newborn dragon ate the meat with satisfaction as the red dragon couple look at the baby proudly.

*Fast forward to 100 Year* [Yes 100 year seriously, i made her to be a child since 5 Year is like nothing to a dragon age. 1 Year is like a Day to them]

"Mother! I learned how to cast fire spell!"

The used to be newborn dragon has became a small human clinging to her mother feet.

"Good job Daughter!"

"Do you wanna go outside?"

"Yes!"

"Turn back to your dragon form, you need to learn how to fly on your own"

"Yes!"

The small girl become her original form as her mother guide her how to fly.

"Now do this"

The mother enlarge her large wings and jump from the cave as she glide while flapping it. The mother came back to the cave.

"Did you get it now? Fina?"

"Let's me try"

The little dragon jumped off with her wing enlarge, it feel like a glider as she flap her wing.

"I did it!"

"Now let's go outside for the first time in your whole life. Remember to run away from Human as they are evil to our species"

"Ok mother"

The 2 dragon fly together not far away from their cave.

*Fast forward to 50 more year*

"Mother and Father need to attend a meeting with the other dragon, you should stay here for your own safety, don't ever jump off or fly alone or else human will caught you!"

"Yes mother"

"Good girl, i will be leaving now"

"Goodbye mother"

The mother dragon goes out of the cave as it go far away. Leaving the young dragon as human form alone in the cave as it decide to play for a while.

"This stuff look so fun!"

The dragon girl play with the item inside the cave unbeknownst that there are someone behind her to capture her.

As the girl still playing a sleep spell was cast over the dragon making it fall asleep.

"We succeed capturing the dragon! We are gonna be rich! Take every you want inside the dragon cave. Don't worry about the dragon parent as they tend to take a full day to come back home" 

"Yes Boss!"

100+ Man take out their bag and began filling it with coin as the leader put the dragon girl on it bag.

* Fast forward after the girl was captured*

The 2 dragon parent arrive back to their home after a day.

"Fina! Im hom-

The dragon was shocked to see their cave has been ransacked with no sighting of their daughter

"Fina!! The Hoard!!"

The dragon look around the cave and the surrounding to try to find the perpetrator but to no avail as they have already escaped. The dragon parent began to be enraged to see their daughter has been kidnapped as well their hoard stolen.

"You damn HUMAN!!"

The dragon breath a large fire at every direction burning the poor forest to a crisp.

*Back from the girl memory flashback*

"Can i survive here? I wanna be with my mother again"

The dragon girl cried even more while in a ball position.

"Someone, please help me"
