When Edward arrived in front of the inn, Violet was already there waiting for him. She was wearing a long blue gown he has never seen her wear before. Her long hair was tied neatly behind her back, leaving her long white neck and shoulders exposed.

Seeing the work she has put in getting ready for today, Edward looked down at his own clothing and started feeling a bit awkward. All he did was use some magic to wash up and briefly arrange his hair. Even his clothes were the usual ones he wore every day.

Walking up to her, Edward scratched the back of his head and said embarrassedly: “You look so beautiful right now, I’m honestly embarrassed to even stand in you presence.”

Violet blushed and hanged her head before whispering softly: “You always look good, Edward.”

Edward moved to ruffle her head only to stop when he realized he would ruin her hair. Putting his hand back down awkwardly, he moved to grab onto her arm and said: “You look amazing. Shall we go?”

Violet nodded and grabbed onto his arm with her other hand as well while resting her head on his arm. Edward was feeling quite awkward, but Violet was just happy to finally spend some time with him.

As the two walked aimlessly through the residential district of the city, Edward said: “Is there anything you want to do or a place you want to go? I didn’t really make any plans for today.”

“I’m just happy to spend time with you. Even walking around like this is fine.”

Edward planted a kiss on the back of her head and started thinking about what they could do. When he agreed to their date for today, he was too tired to think about where he should take her and now he had to improvise.

“I haven’t eaten yet, mind if we go eat something first?” he wasn’t that hungry with the wolf having filled his belly, but that was the best idea he could come with.

“Why didn’t you say so back at the inn, we could…”

“Shh..” Edward blocked her lips with one of his fingers and continued: “Do you know any place inside the city where they have some tasty food? I’m sadly not as familiar as you with the city.”

Violet nodded and pondered for a moment before saying: “I also don’t know many places that serve food, but I remember going to a restaurant in near the adventurer guild with my father when I was small. From I can remember the food was quite good.”

Edward didn’t feel that a restaurant near the adventurer guild was a good choice for a date, but seeing the forlorn look in her eyes when she mentioned her father, he knew she must really want to go to that place so he agreed.

Walking towards the adventurer guild from the residential district took quite a bit of time, but the two just enjoyed being in each other’s presence so neither of them seemed to mind the long walk too much.

When they finally arrived at the restaurant, it was exactly what Edward has expected. The place was quite crowded, with adventurers walking in and out almost continuously. As they entered inside, the sounds of adventurers laughing and drinking made it almost impossible to even hold a normal conversation inside.

Looking towards Violet, he was about to ask her if she wanted to head to another place when he noticed she was looking all around with a small smile at the corned or her lips.

Letting out a sigh, Edward started walking towards the counter of the restaurant.

“Excuse me miss, any available tables? Preferable in a more quiet spot if possible.” Said Edward towards the young woman behind the counter.

The woman looked weirdly at Edward and Violet who appeared to be on a date, wondering who in their right mind would choose to come to this place. Still, she immediately put on a serious expression and said: “If you want some quiet and privacy, I would recommend picking one of the tables on the second floor or third floor. A table on the second floor costs ten silvers for a day while one of the third floor costs fifty.”

“Then, could you please give us a table on the third floor?”

“Right away, sir.” Replied the young lady behind the counter before signaling for one of the waitresses to come to her. A petite girl, looking not older than 14 or 15, came up towards them.

“Diana, take the guests to the third floor and let them chose one of the empty tables.”

The waitress, Diana, motioned for Edward and Violet to follow after her and the three started climbing the stairs to the third floor.

This floor was indeed a lot more quiet than the previous two, inside being just a few strong looking adventurers discussing quietly at their table, quite a different take from the ruckus on the first floor. After picking a table in one of the corners of the hall, Violet and Edward ordered some light food and two cups of wine.

“Edward, isn’t this too expensive? We could have stayed on the first floor as well, I don’t mind.”

“If we stayed on the first floor we couldn’t even hear each other from across the table.” Said Edward with a smile, grabbing hold onto her hand across the table.

Violet nodded and they started chatting while waiting for their food to arrive.

“Edward, why do you never sleep in the room at the inn? Is it because of Minx?”

“Well, that’s one of the reasons, but there is also another one.”

“What is it?” asked Violet with a curious look as she brought her face closed to his. This was one of the questions she always wanted to ask Edward but never got the chance.

Edward chuckled and said: “At night, I turn into a wild wolf and who knows what I might do if I sleep into the same place as a beautiful lady like you.”

Violet pouted and pinched his hand: “Don’t tease me like that.”

“Haha, what if I’m telling the truth?” said Edward with a hungry look as he brought her hand towards his mouth and took a playful bite on it.

Violet pulled her hand back and blushed while looking around the room: “There are people here.”

Having gotten rid of the awkward atmosphere between them, Edward continued teasing Violet from time to time, taking pleasure in looking at her trying to mask her embarrassment.

Soon, the petite waitress also brought them their order and they started eating. Edward was never a real foodie so he didn’t really have any preferences when it came to food, but Violet seemed to really like it.

They stayed inside the restaurant for more than two hours, the atmosphere between them becoming merrier and merrier with each passing moment.

A little bit after noon, Edward payed the bill which amounted to one gold coin and sixty silvers before they both walked out of the restaurant.

“Violet, I have to go and speak to Ingvar about something for a moment, do you mind if we just get that out of the way now?”

“I don’,t but let’s first pass by the adventurer guild since we’re already here. I need to close the quest I placed before.”

Edward agreed and they walked into the adventurer guild right across the street. Inside, they headed for the second floor where the quest placing desk was located.

Lara spotted Edward and Violet as soon as they stepped onto the second floor and motioned for them to come to her from behind her desk.

“Violet, do you mind if we go say hi to one of my friends here?”

Violet followed Edward’s sight and saw he was looking towards the information desk. Smiling towards Lara, she said: “Oh, Lara? No problem. You go first and I’ll come join you once I’m done.”

Violet went to the quest placement desk and Edward towards the information desk.

“Good to see you alive and well, Edward. If you wouldn’t have shown up soon I’m afraid Arthur’s daughter would have turned the guild upside down. Haha.”

“Thank you, Miss Lara. Do you know Violet’s father?”

“I do. He was active in the same period as my father and they both knew each other. So, what happened to you?”

“Nothing really, but I had to hide while waiting for the beast tide to pass. I’m sorry if Violet has caused you any trouble.”

“No trouble. I’m just glad you’re alright. Still, I didn’t expect you to have conquered the heart of both Arthur and the leader’s daughters. You’ve been quite busy haven’t you?”

“Huh? You mean Kara? What about her?”

“You don’t know. She spend every day inside the adventurer guild when you went missing, asking any adventurer coming to complete quests from the south if they saw you. She didn’t look any less worried than Arthur’s daughter.”

‘Kara did? That’s weird…’ thought Edward, remembering she looked quite indifferent yesterday when he met her. He wanted to ask more about it but noticed that Violet was heading towards them and decided to drop the subject.

“Miss Lara, thank you for all the help back then.” Said Violet with a small bow before taking a seat next to Edward.

“No problem. I already told you Edward is a friend of mine as well. What are the two of you doing?”

Edward and Violet spend a bit more time chatting with Lara at the adventurer guild before taking their leave and heading for Ingvar’s house.

As they were about to reach the entrance, Edward stopped and said with a chuckle: “Hey, want to see a magic trick?”

“Hmm, what trick?” asked Violet curiously.

Edward didn’t answer and just walked with her until they reached the base of the stairs leading to the front door. There, he stopped and waited for Ingvar to open the door with a proud smile on his face.

This time, however, after waiting for a couple of minutes, nothing happened. Feeling a bit embarrassed under Violet’s expectant gaze, Edward coughed dryly to hide his emotions and said: “Never mind that. Let’s just knock.”

Walking up the stairs, he knocked on the front door and waited for someone to open it. He figured that Ingvar must be out since he didn’t come to greet him like always, but even so, he hoped at least Kara would be home so he doesn’t have to come back later.

In a few seconds, the door opened and Ingvar appeared in front of the two.

“Violet, Edward. What brings the two of you here?”

Edward had a feeling that Ingvar didn’t show up like usual on purpose to mess with him. The cheeky grin on his face as he opened the door only served to reinforce this idea in his mind.

“Hello, Ingvar. Thank you for all the help in the last few months and sorry for always bothering you.” Said Violet with a small bow.

Edward also cleared his throat and decided to pay Ingvar back another time as he said: “I came to let you know I’ve spoken with Mya and she agreed.”

“Good. Is she alright with tomorrow as well?”

“She is.”

“Wait, tomorrow?” interrupted Violet “Are you leaving already?”

Seeing her expression turning sad, Edward moved to console her when Ingvar said: “Don’t worry, with us there nothing like last time will happen. You can rest assured.”

This did nothing to reassure Violet and, to both Ingvar and Edward’s surprise, she actually snapped at him.

“Oh, didn’t he leave with you guys the last time too? That’s very reassuring.”

Both Edward and Ingvar’s faces turned awkward when they heard her words, Edward’s because he was the one who sent them away and Ingvar’s because, at the end of the day, she was right.

Seeing their awkward expression, Violet could believe she has just said that. Blushing fiercely she hid her face into Edward’s chest and said: “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be rude. I don’t know what came over me.”

Edward moved his arms around her waist and hugged her to let her know it was alright but Ingvar had a frown on his face as he looked at the two of them. If he was not wrong, just as she had her small outburst, he could swear he saw her eyes turning purple for a brief moment.

Edward kept Violet in his arms and turning towards Ingvar to say his goodbye. He has already said what he came here to say and didn’t Violet to feel embarrassed any longer. Nodding back, Ingvar watched the two walk into the distance with a pensive look on his face.

“Did you notice it too?”

Kara appeared out of nowhere and rested her back on the door. She nodded with her eyes fixed in the direction Edward and Violet have gone.

“Probably related to her beast blood.”

“It definitively doesn’t come from Arthur. Did you find out about her mother? I know had someone look into her before.”

Kara shook her head and said: “They didn’t manage to find out anything about her. Arthur never mentioned her to any of his friends either. Looks like I’ll have to look deeper into this..”

“Do you think we should let Edward know?”

“Let him know what? We don’t know anything ourselves.”

Edward and Violet continued their date to the marketplace. Violet apologized again for her earlier outburst, but Edward didn’t really mind it that much and brushed it of before asking her to help him buy some new clothes. He wanted to have something to wear for any future dates so he wouldn’t feel like a peasant when he walked with her through the city.

They browsed the random shops and stalls in the marketplace, choosing quite a few clothes for Edward. Violet also bought some accessories and clothes for herself, but she refused whenever Edward would offer to pay for her.

By the time they finished shopping and left the marketplace, it was already quite late in the evening. As they were walking back towards the inn, Violet strengthened her hold on Edward’s arm and said: “Are you heading back to the forest after dropping your clothes at the inn?”

Hearing the hesitation in her voice, Edward chucked and said: “Do you want me to?”

Violet shook her head and didn’t say anything else, seeming too embarrassed to voice her thoughts.

Edward brought his head closer to her ears and whispered: “Then I guess I’m yours to do as you please with tonight, my lady.”

Violet’s ears fluttered she nodded silently, but Edward could see from the tail swinging happily at her back that she was just as excited as he was.”

Laughing out loud, he led the bright red Violet towards her room on the second floor. As they reached the door to her room, Violet broke free from Edward’s arm and said shyly: “I need to go downstairs and check if anything happened at the inn while I was gone. I also want to take a bath. Do you mind waiting for me inside?”

Edward nodded and entered the room. Dropping the clothes he bought to the side, he cleaned himself as well using water magic and laid down on the soft bed wearing only his trousers. Looking at the ceiling above, his smiled foolishly while thinking about tonight.

[Edward.]

Hearing Fenrir’s voice, Edward was brought back from his fantasies and he asked: “What is it?”

[Can you open that cupboard on the right side of the bed?]

Finding the request quite strange, Edward asked: “Do you want me to go through Violet’s stuff? What for?”

[Please. I just want to check something out.]

Edward sighed and stood up. Moving next to the cupboard, he pulled out the drawer but there was actually nothing inside it besides some common candles. Looking at the mark on his hand, he asked: “What now?”

[Take it out and turn it around.]

Edward did as he was told and to his surprise, there was a small amulet tied to the back of the drawer. The amulet looked like nothing special, but the small black crystal bead fixed in it’s middle was giving even Edward a weird feeling.

[It is indeed chaos energy. So what Azure said was true..]

“Chaos? Like the source of your power?”

[Indeed. According to what Azure has told me, after cursing my soul and banishing it to Earth, Vidar threw my remains into Jotunheim and detonated the chaos energy inside to kill the giants who raised up against his father.]

“So we’re in the world of Jotunheim and this is a part of your real body?” asked Edward in amazement, not expecting Violet to have a part of Fenrir’s body just laying around in her room.

[Indeed. We finally found out what world we ended up in during the soul transference.]

“What about this chaos amulet? Do you need it for anything?”

[No. I was just curious since I felt a familiar energy coming from that cupboard. You can place it back.]

Edward placed the drawer with the amulet back and laid down on the bed once more.

“Should I ask Violet where she got the amulet from?”

[Since there was no trace of chaos energy coming from her body, she probably never touched the amulet in her life. I doubt she would know.]

“Then, what is it doing in her room?”

[Someone hid it there on purpose. From I can tell, the amulet would use the chaos energy to slowly nurture the body of whoever lives nearby, making sure they never suffer from sickness or any other common illness.]

“Probably her father…”

[That is my guess as well.]

“I still think I should tell her about it. She would be happy to have a memento from her father.”

[Yes, she probably will, but there must be a reason why her father hasn’t directly given her the amulet and chose to hid it in her room.]

As Fenrir’s words ended, Edward started hearing footstep from outside. Knowing it was Violet coming back, he put all thoughts about the amulet on the back on his mind and decided to think about it some other time. He didn’t want to ruin their night together.
