Edward felt the mark on his arm burning fiercely and his transformation starting but didn’t fight back, only quickly taking his trousers off. He knew that if Fenrir was willing to do this, there must be a good reason for it.

Edward grunted in pain and fell to the ground before all his skin started rupturing. Out of the shell of his skin, the body of a dark wolf, half the size of Flastrdra appeared. The bottom part of its legs was hidden in a purple-gray mist, with threads of the same energy circling her body. Compared to the last time Fenrir had taken over his body, the differences were obvious. Her strength was slowly recovering.

Fenrir took a deep breath and murmured under her breath: “Ah, the fresh air of the mortal world…”

Flastrdra moved one step away from Fenrir. She knew Fenrir was Edward’s friend and a sort of fallen God, but she didn’t expect that the mere sight of her would give her such a dangerous feeling.

The leader of the viera was on the ground, trembling from every fiber of her being.

Fenrir fixed her eyes on the poor girl and said: “Do you still plan on keeping silent?”

The girl was so terrified that she couldn’t even speak. The pressure she felt from Fenrir was like nothing she has ever felt before. She couldn’t even move a single muscle with those pure black eyes fixed on her.

Fenrir sighed and spoke again. “You have something of mine here. If you don’t speak, I might choose to take it back. I’m sure that would spell the end of your entire race.”

The girl didn’t understand what she meant at first, but suddenly her eyes widened and a pungent smell covered the entire cave. Her pristine white dress started turning different colors around the bottom half as well.

“Fenrir, you’re going to scare the girl to death.” Said Flastrdra in an awkward chuckling tone, wishing to ease the pressure on the girl slightly.

Fenrir snorted and said: “I’m going deeper to check on something. You keep watch over her until she calms down.”

After Flastrdra nodded, Fenrir rushed by the leader of the viera and continued deeper inside the cave. She passed by some caged wolves but ignored them as she proceeded even deeper. When she reached the deepest part, she moved her paw to touch the wall at the end of the cave. It differed from the other walls, this one having a pure black color.

“It really is one of my claws. Now everything makes sense.” Said Fenrir under her breath before sitting down and closing her eyes.

Her body started slowly turning back, and Edward opened his eyes. As he regained his senses, he fell to the ground with sweat dripping down his forehead and grabbed onto his right leg.

“It fucking hurts!!!” he exclaimed through gritted teeth.

[How are you?] asked Fenrir with worry obvious in her voice.

“How do you think I am? That fucking wolf took a hefty bite of my leg.”

Fenrir just sighed and waited for Edward to calm down. It took over five more minutes before the pain subsided and she spoke again.

[Look at the wall in front of you. That’s one of my claws.]

Edward looked at the inconspicuous black wall and asked: “From your actual body?”

[Yeah. The chaos energy emanating from inside changed the bodies of the wolves and allowed them to reproduce with the huldra. You can go back and ask that girl whatever you want. I’m sure she will be happy to talk now.]

“Aren’t you going to eat it?” asked Edward, fixing his eyes on the black wall.

[Not yet. All that chaos energy would for sure make the wolf stronger, but I’m afraid the curse would become too strong. I’ve done enough damage for today. We’ll come back for it after you get stronger yourself.]

“Alright. Thank you, Fenrir.”, said Edward and started making his way back. He passed by the locked pack of wolves but ignored them the same way Fenrir did. They were nothing more than the viera’s breeding slaves.

When he reached the leader and Flastrdra, the poor girl was laying in a pool of her bodily fluids while bowing toward him. Edward raised an eyebrow and turned to look at Flastrdra for an explanation.

“Don’t ask me. Fenrir scared this girl silly. Ever since she could move again, she just turned around and started mumbling something about her God and stuff.”

Edward looked at the girl again and noticed that indeed her lips appeared to be moving, but no words seemed to come out. Being concerned for Violet and not wishing to prolong his journey here, he asked: “Now can you tell me what is happening to my lover?”

The girl’s body shook, and she said: “I’ll tell. Please forgive me for offending you, Holy Prophet.”

“Say it.” Edward couldn’t care less how she would call him. He had his suspicions about that as well.

“Ever since our tribe changed, our people possessed two souls, one dominant and one dormant. Our people concluded that the dominant one came from the wolf side of our race, while the dormant one came from the huldra side. The moment we lose our purity, the huldra soul would wake up and slowly grow stronger the more life force it absorbs until eventually devouring the wolf soul, replacing it completely.” Said the girl.

[I see. The huldra race reproduced with the wolves, but the chaos mutated them into having to share a body with another soul. The wolf part was affected by my chaos energy and was stronger, allowing it to keep the other soul dormant. Since they still had the characteristics of the huldra race, once they had intercourse, their body would still absorb the lifespan of their partner and use it to strengthen the dormant soul. Waking up, the huldra part would slowly gain control over and devour the wolf soul.]

“Any solution to stop the huldra soul from getting stronger?” said Edward, jumping straight to what he wanted to know the most.

“Please forgive me, Prophet, but I do now know. Since the ones controlled by the huldra soul would easily lose their rationality to lust, my people would choose one child that hasn’t laid with a male to lead the tribe. That is the only solution I know to keep the rational soul in control.”

Edward clenched his fists in frustration. He was back to square one.

[I might have an idea on how to fix this…] said Fenrir.

“What is it?”

[Don’t you have someone that can devour souls on your side? I can easily consume the other half of her soul.]

“But won’t that also hurt Violet? Also, how do you plan on making sure you don’t devour Violet’s soul as well?”

[Hehe, don’t worry, I have a plan.]

“Prophet, since the two have already had intercourse, I’m afraid is already too late. The moment the huldra soul absorbs someone’s lifespan, it would be in control and seek to sleep with others while slowly consuming the wolf soul.”

[Don’t worry about that. The wolf also got some seeds of power from someone. Edward, you should still hurry south before anything worse happens. If she sleeps with other people while we’re gone…]

Edward turned immediately towards Flastrdra. “Let’s go. We got what we came here for.”

“Please, prophet, won’t you do us the honor of remaining in our village?” asked the girl when Edward was heading towards the exit.

Edward turned and saw the fanatical look in the girl’s eyes. Shaking his head, he replied: “I might return in the future, but now I have other things to do. Make sure you don’t speak a single word of what has happened here today to anyone.”

He couldn’t care less about this village or what they thought of him, but he didn’t want the dragons to find out about Flastrdra and make trouble for them.

“As the prophet dictates. I would rather die than speak a word of what happened today.”

Edward and Flastrdra had no problem walking out of the village, with Flastrdra even telling them it was all a misunderstanding, so they won’t replace their leader. Once they reached far enough from the village, Flastrdra said: “You know they will all probably die.”

“Why do you say that?” asked Edward.

“Since we made quite a show and everyone saw us, the moment people of my race come here to have fun, it’s impossible for the viera to keep their mouths shut.”

“Aren’t there any other female dragons? How would they know it’s you?”

“Hehe, my black scales are a sign of my royal bloodline. No dragon of the royal would lower itself to come to their pathetic tribe. At most, it will just wipe them all in one go if there was any problem.”

“Maybe their leader would ask them to not mention it. She seemed quite serious when she said that.”

“She probably will, but as she said, those women would easily forget their rationality in their lust.”

“It’s their problem.” Said Edward with an indifferent look. “As long as they can hold their mouth until we leave the mountain range, it’s good enough.”

As they started flying over the mountains, Flastrdra kept a low altitude and nothing unusual happened until they reached the halfway point. Then, a huge green dragon started flying straight towards them.

“Oh, shit.” Exclaimed Edward as Flastrdra stopped heading forward and waited for the dragon to approach them. She wanted to run away immediately, but she recognized him as one of the few people who she could still trust.

As the dragon in the air saw Flastrdra stop, his voice sounded in her ears: “My queen, run. They are coming.”

“Hold on, we’re increasing our speed.” Said Flastrdra and didn’t wait a moment more before bolting forward. Edward formed a water whip and tied it around her neck as well.

Not long after Flastrdra started flying forward again, the entire place started darkening. As Edward turned his head to look back, he saw hundreds of gigantic dragons pursuing them.

As the distance started shortening, he saw the green dragon form before start attacking backward, wind spells flying out of its body continuously. He managed to at least make the others slow down as they blocked the spells, but how long could one dragon hold on against hundreds of others?

When the other dragons started shooting their spells, Edward watched as the green dragon kept getting hit until it started falling toward the ground.

‘I guess Flastrdra still had friends left.’, thought Edward with a sigh as he turned back forward, only to notice that their direction has slightly changed.

They were not heading towards the City of Ashes anymore. They were instead aiming for Fallwrath Volcano’s crater. He didn’t know what she planned, but at this point, he could only trust her.

Turning to look back again, he saw a huge ice spear heading straight towards them. Without a second thought, he created a water platform in front of the ice speak.

The platform broke after half a second, but it held enough for the spell to miss its target and land on the mountain below.

“Flastrdra, there’s nowhere for you to run to. Surrender, and we might spare you as long as you give us the location of the egg.”

Flastrdra ignored his words, and the dragons resumed their attacks. Edward’s mana allowed him to block a few more attacks, but it was nowhere close enough for the number of dragons after them.

Soon enough, attacks from all the dragons started hitting Flastrdra, but she continued flying forward. Edward could see her moving her body in front of the attacks so that her wings won’t get injured as she pushed on. More and more wounds started appearing on her body and her speed started decreasing.

She held on until she reached right above the volcano’s crater, where she stopped and let her body fall freely. As her body turned around from the falling motion, Edward rotated himself and arrived above her belly.

“Enter… mouth…” her voice was weak. She was barely hanging on, but the conviction in her eyes never flickered as she opened her gigantic maw.

Without a choice left, Edward moved over her body and entered Flastrdra’s mouth. Her mouth snapped closed, and she fell into the hot lava, slowly singing downwards.
