Volume 1: The Light

“~Light Heal~!”

As I casted the spell, a soft light came out of my right hand. However, just when I thought it was going to solidify, it disappeared.

I wonder how many times I’ve failed at this by now.

“This is hard…”

“Healing magic is one of the most advanced magic techniques. If it were that easy, many would be using it.”

Master then urged, “Here, let’s try again.”

I then tried one more time, but the magic once again collapsed before it even took shape.

Today was the sixth day of training.

Having mastered most of the basic techniques, I had finally begun training in the healing magic, ~Light Heal~.

I was told that this was a magic that should be learned after a few more steps, but since this is the magic that I need to learn the most, Master agreed to teach it to me as soon as possible.

Unlike a knife, you can’t just imagine what “healing” looks like.

“What do you think, Serena?”

“I’m a spirit, so I kind of understand it. But it is a little difficult to explain it. It’s like a feeling of a ‘bwahhh’… understand?”

“Bwahhh?”

I have no idea.

Serena is the type that goes with feelings, which is not suitable for a teacher.

Master, seeing me in such a troubled state, spoke.

“Light Magic has the power to ‘restore things to their proper state.’ Light Heal is a magic that applies this power to injuries and illnesses.”

I remember learning something like that.

If I recall correctly, Fire Magic has the power to spread, and Water Magic has the power to subdue…

So that’s why Light Magic is effective against curses.

So, when imagining it, I should imagine the curse shrinking and out of my body. Light Magic is difficult to handle, but once I get it down, there is nothing more reassuring.

“I understand. I will do my best.”

Remembering what Master taught me, I concentrated on training once again.

Amazing, when I applied what Master said, it worked better than before. He is really good at teaching.

My Master, Gory, is indeed a “Sage.”

Sage is a title that is only given to selected people among Magicians, and there are very few of them.

I feel sorry for making Master spend so much time on me, even though he’s got a lot on his plate (busy). I wish there was something I could do to repay him.

As I was thinking, there was a knock at the door and Shizuku entered the room.

“Excuse me, Callus-sama, His Highness Sirius has arrived.”

“Oh, is that time already?”

Sirius is my elder brother and the Second Prince of the Kingdom.

He is the opposite of my Brother Damien who mostly uses his brawn, and is a man of brain and wit. I always admire his calm and collected judgment, just as I admire Brother Damien.

And Sirius has always been good at magic. Unlike me, who was a failure, he was a great person.

“Master, is it okay if I leave?”

“Yes, of course. Reuniting with family is the most important thing.”

I bowed my head to Master, before heading towards the front door of the house in the courtyard.

Today is the day where the whole family would get together for dinner, it’s not just my Brother Sirius. My Father, my Mother, my two brothers and I. When was the last time we were all together?

If I were in the Royal Capital, I would’ve been able to meet them often, but I couldn’t because I was in the villa. I hope I can manage to get rid of the curse and live normally. While I was in my thoughts, I arrived at the front door.

My Brother Sirius is already there, and he also noticed me, as I approached him.

“Callus!”

“Ah, it’s been a while, brother.”

He approached me at a brisk pace.

He then came to my side and stared at me with his cold, piercing eyes. He is also known as “Ao-Washi,” or “Blue Eagle.” His eyes are so sharp that any person would be intimidated by his stare.

He stared at me with a sharp gaze, grabbed me by both shoulders and then brought my face close to his, then…

“Callus, is it okay… for you to walk!? I heard that you’re feeling a little better, but you better take it easy. Oh yeah, did that idiot Damien do anything nasty to you? If he did, tell me and I’ll take care of it right now!”

“I’m fine, Brother! You worry too much!”

As you can see, Sirius is also very sweet to me for some reason.

My two Brothers have opposite personalities, but for some reason, they have this in common. I wonder why?
