Chapter 109: Toxic personality

Even with his poison resistance the purple toxin sank into Alex's body and he was forced to land from the sudden feeling of nausea and illness that came over him. The trait leveled up once but Alex ignored that notification to glare at the pukei pukei who had ambushed him. From the air the green and purple wyvern blended into the forest floor so he hadn't noticed it until it attacked him. ' I'm going to eat you for fucking dinner!' Alex thought angrily at the monster. The feathered monster answered Alex's glare with a roar while it shook said feathers in an act of intimidation.

Alex started to walk around the beast as he waited for his poison resistance to purge the toxins in his body. The pukei tried to charge Alex and swipe him with it's tongue but Alex powered through his nausea and leapt to the side while simultaneously slashing his tail into the monsters flank creating a deep gash that bled profusely. The pukei roared in pain from the injury but didn't learn from it's mistake as it tried to hit Alex with it's tongue again only for him to slash gouge out a chuck of it with his hard claws.

Alex was careful not to get anymore of the toxic saliva on his skin when he slashed the monsters tongue so he didn't need to worry about his poisoned state getting extended. He didn't even bother using his own poison since a monster like this likely has in-built poison resistances of it's own to protect it from such things. The chunk of flesh ripped out of it's tongue served as a wake up call for the beast however as it became more careful in it's attacks switching to distance attacks like the globs of poison it hit Alex with originally.

None of it worked since Alex was actually paying attention to the monster letting him dodge the attacks easily. Alex kited the beast around the area for three whole minutes before the poison in his body was finally neutralized letting him go all out once again. He caught the pukei off guard when he suddenly closed the distance between them and carefully slashed into the beast left shoulder joint severing the wing clean from it's body. The monster roared in agony as it lost one of it's limbs and it's survival instinct told it to flee.

Escape was no longer an option however as the moment the beast tried to run Alex leapt upon it's back and slammed it's face into the ground with his full weight. This disoriented the pukei to the point it didn't even notice when Alex's claws wrapped around it's throat on opposite sides and pulled. In an instant the beast throat was ripped open from the sharp claws pulling the flesh in two different directions. Blood sprayed and the pukei started to suffocate on it's own blood as it's brain began to die from lack of oxygen.

'Serves you right for attacking me for no reason.' he thought with a irritated huff at the still warm corpse. 'Now i need to get this damn thing back to astera so i can get it turned into food and a feather pillow.' he thought as he began to clasp the body with his claws while holding the severed wing with his tail as he flapped his wings. Thanks to the monster being roughly the same size as him and less heavy from the lack of blood in it's body Alex merely needed to strain himself a little to fly with the whole thing.

When Alex arrived at astera no one was really bothered by the obviously brutal way he had killed the monster as it was a normal sight for anyone who had ever seen the left overs of the carnivorous monsters. Despite them being very supportive and friendly with Alex not a single person in astera would ever make the mistake of forgetting that he was a monster and an elder dragon to boot. What did get Alex some strange looks however was when he asked for the hide to be turned into a huge pillow stuffed with feathers.
