Chapter 48:
Reassurances
I sat with Cecelia, waiting for Alana and Yuriko to finish bathing. I had nothing more to do at the moment, feeling quite useless. There was the matter of Derek on my mind, but I couldn't do anything before we found him. Wherever he was, he couldn't escape. I was just feeling a antsy.
"Love..." Cecelia purred softly, her hands digging into the knots in my shoulders with practiced ease, "We'll get them, do not worry."
I responded with a noncommittal grunt, followed by a satisfied moan as her thumbs worked into my flesh. Her massages were always divine. Lolling my head back, I opened my eyes to take her in. Her hair cascaded down, framing her face beautiful.
"I know, love," Smiling warmly up at her, I found myself lost in her eyes, "What I also know...is how beautiful you are. Sometimes, I wonder if you're real."
A smirk on her lips, she leaned down to me. Her hands dug purposefully into my knots, dragging from me a very pleasurable moan. Just before it escaped my lips, her lips found mine. Muffling my sounds as she kissed me deeply. Disappointingly, she pulled away after a moment, leaving me breathless.
"Is that real enough for you, sweet talker?" She teased, licking her lips in satisfaction.
"V-Very..." Blushing, my attention went back to the fireplace as it crackled before us, "I just find it hard to really feel like I'm here. I just...I feel so useless. You're doing everything, and I'm...I don't know."
Much to my regret, her hands stopped moving. There was silence for a moment before they continued, this time her fingers hit deeper, more lovingly and with a purpose. Each time her fingers found their mark, euphoric moans escaped my lips. I found myself falling deeper, and deeper into relaxation.
"Alex..." Cecelia whispered gently, "I understand how you feel. I know how you are. You've felt like a burden for a long time."
Her words went deep into my ears, reaching to the furthest parts of me.
"It's been drilled into you that if you're not doing something, you're useless," Her words resonated with me, her fingers pushing me further into complacency, "I know this very well. Who you are, how you feel. You need to realize something...just being there is enough. You were there for me. You were there for anyone, whenever they needed it. Even if you were hurt."
I found myself reminiscing. Thinking back on all the times I gave things for others. How I saved up for the littlest of things. How it never mattered cause I wasn't doing anything worthwhile. All the times I was hurt.
The pressure of her fingers pushing into my flesh, working the knots felt like they were working my very memories. I began to remember all the times Alana smiled. Every moment I spent with Cecelia at the park back then. The smile she gave me, the smile she gives me now.
I began to recall all the times I tried my best to be there for my sister, for my brother. It was to no avail, but I tried. A solemness washed over me with each motion of Cecelia's hands on my shoulders. They began to work along my neck, their strength knowing no end. Just the right amount was always applied, with no sense of tiring.
"It hurts, doesn't it?" She asked, though I didn't have to answer as I knew it was rhetorical, "Of course it does. You feel you have to be productive to be of use. To be worthy. My love, you are all you need to be. That heart of yours is your best asset."
"...And my worst," I laughed dryly, finally speaking though my throat felt as dry as my laugh.
Cecelia's hand upon my neck worked the muscles while not saying a word.
"It always gets me in trouble," I whispered, thinking to all the times I was fooled or used, "I care about life...even those you've killed. Who I know were bad people. What of those that weren't entirely?"
Letting my head be controlled by Cecelia, she worked her magic on it. Moving it as she pleased, I felt the tension just melt away.
"If I was able to take a life, then I would have stopped him then..." The regret coming straight to the surface, "Alana told me I shouldn't blame myself...and I tell you that you shouldn't blame yourself. So, if none of us are to blame, what then? Is taking a life really okay? What of those they knew? I've become so desensitized to it..."
Cecelia moved around me. Her leg going over the couch, followed by the rest of her. Straddling me from the front, she took my head in her hands. The soft smell of rose mixed with a certain berry smell met my nose. It was relaxing, just as her fingers were as they worked the base of my skull.
"They are good questions, my love," Her voice was soft, understanding, "That heart of yours keeps me humble. I love every single thing about it. There are bad people in the world. People like you are hurt by them. It's people like me who take out the trash."
"But-" I began to protest, but her fingers made sure I couldn't.

Hitting all the right spots, only moans escaped my lips.
"Shh, it's my turn, love," She seemed amused, playful, "You are a kind human. I don't think there's anything wrong with you. No, there isn't anything wrong with you. However, there is with-"
Finding the strength in my arms, I reached up to the back of her own neck. This caught her off-guard as I pulled her to me. Kissing her deeply, passionately. Pressing her body against me, she held me close.
"Cecelia..." I whispered, breathless, "Don't go there. I'll let you talk, but know...there is nothing wrong with you, nor with Yuriko or Julius. We all have our issues. I love you all the same. More than I ever thought possible."
"Heh...Smooth talker," She whispered back, tasting her lips before her fingers resumed their work, "My point, dear...is that you do the most important thing. You bring light to this world. A kindness that is often lost in others. However, even the kindest of people have a limit. We'll find him. We'll make him pay, and you, my dear, have done the best thing you could for Alana. We'll treat her as if she was our own child."
Her hands came to a stop once more, and once more we kissed. My entire body was hers, relaxed and completely free of tension. She held my face as our lips met, her body pressed close against mine. I felt myself become quite aroused, something that didn't go unnoticed by her. However, before we could go any further, a certain sixth sense of mine went off.
I felt their presence before they even spoke.
"See, I told you they would be together," Yuriko's voice claimed from the doorway, "But I didn't know they'd be this close."
"U-Uncle?" Alana's voice arose uneasily, "We're finished..."
Looking over, Yuriko had a slight pink to her cheeks, but it was Alana who blushed the most. Quickly, Cecelia and I freed ourselves from one another. My cheeks burning in embarrassment.
"S-Sorry about that..." I apologized, motioning for them to come in, "Cecelia was helping me relax a bit."
"I'm sure she was," Yuriko teased, floating over with Alana in tow.
Alana looked much better than she had before. Though she currently had an oversized sweater and sweatpants on. Her other clothes were too dirty to wear. I was pleased to see her hair was finally washed and smoothed out. The dirty on her skin completely gone. She looked refreshed, and I was glad.
"We'll have to get you some new clothes," I spoke up as she sat down, Yuriko next to her.
"I-Is that okay?" She wondered shyly, hiding behind the oversized sleeve of the sweater, her eyes looking at me uncertainty.
"Of course," Cecelia chimed in without missing a beat, "You may have whatever you wish. We'll see to everything, dear. Don't you worry your pretty little head, alright?"
"Y-Yeah," Alana nodded bashfully, curling her legs up to her chest, "So...What do we do now?"
"Now?" Cecelia intoned, "Now, we relax. It's been a long day for everyone. Especially you. How about a movie?"
"Really!?" Alana perked up, suddenly excited, "I-I mean...if that's okay..."
Her eyes darted around anxiously, hiding herself as she became embarrassed, shyness overtaking her. Watching her, I grew worried. She was a cute kid, and I knew that she was at that age where she may take an interest in others. I was worried she may attract the wrong kind of people.
"Am I going to be that kind of uncle? I don't want to suffocate her or be too overprotective..." Sighing to myself, I couldn't help but think of it, "Perhaps we can just do background checks. Just to be sure, right?" Even that, I knew, would probably be too much.
For now, I put it from my mind. The only thing that mattered to me was for her to be happy. Right now, that meant letting her be the child she was never able to be. Sitting down with the four of us, Julius soon joined in as we began a movie. As the fire crackled and the movie played, I was able to see Alana finally relax a little.
She held back at first, but soon was able to truly enjoy the evening. She sat with Yuriko next to me on my left. By the end, they had both fallen asleep together. Peaceful as they were, I didn't want to disturb them.
