Somewhere around the southern part of Firalos, Lucas and his group were searching for a way to fill their stomach.

"Let's go over there."

The leader holding a sword pointed in a random direction and gestured a silent sign at the people behind him.

They all nodded back at him while following him without a word.

While distanced far away from each other, tall trees with obsidian leaves were all over the jungle. It made one wonder where exactly was their location on this planet.

Currently, they were situated around the southern edges of Firalos and moving towards the middle areas. Firalos was at least twice the size of Earth meaning that the distance between the two areas was immense.

If not for their evolved bodies, it would normally be impossible to reach the center part in six months while only walking.

'Crunch' 'Rustle'

Around this time, the group was wandering as several amounts of jet-black leaves were crushed beneath their feet.

Black mucus oozed out of the squashed leaves leaving traces on the soil.

The humans continued walking unaware of the consequences of such simple actions.

Even though Lucas and the two policemen knew, the three simply didn't care as they thought that it was just a poisonous fluid. They had no idea that it could be detrimental to their survival.

Luckily, the mortals were still close to their starting point from where they were summoned.

The majority of the monsters were in front of them so no beings were following them through the traces at the moment.

After wandering for ten minutes in this unknown place, the group heard an uproar from afar.

Everyone turned their heads to Lucas and saw that he was already going to the location.

While moving silently, all of them prepared their hearts as they pursued his back.

Time passed and the group was approaching the cause of the loud ruckus.

They hid behind the thick trees and concealed their presence as much as possible.

Lucas was already about to look at the scene from one of the trees. The man tilted his head.

He was surprised at the events happening in front of him.

'Six white boars and those plants from before. What are they doing here?'

'Wait... What are those big ants?'

While thinking about this, he looked at the humans spread out away from him.

They were also shocked at the view and was standing still behind the trees.

'Thank god, they didn't scream and ran away.'

Lucas thought as he turned his head back to observe the monsters.

Presently, the behaviour of the beasts was unusual.

The Yigaks and the viny plants were focusing too much on the ants beneath the tree.

Fighting recklessly, the boars charged at the tree where the numerous ants were staying.

The carnivorous plant also struck at them using its thorny long vines.

Their battle continued on for several minutes while the group of humans continued to observe.

After a while, the more than fifty or so irregular-sized ants were vanquished despite their numbers.

From the fight, two Yigaks survived while three of the vicious plants were still alive.

These two groups of monsters fought each other.

It seemed like the ants were a bigger menace to them so they dealt with them first.

Now that the biggest opponents were gone, they turned to each other in menace.

For two minutes the skirmish of abominations was finished, the Yigaks lost while only a single plant remained in the surroundings.

This plant then went to the tree where the ants previously lived.

'What is it doing now?'

Lucas and his group were waiting in silence.

The monster then used its lengthy vines to grab something above the tall tree.

It didn't seem like it was going for the leaves.

Instead, the plant grabbed something that seemed to be an unknown crimson fruit.

'There was a fruit up there? I was looking all this time and saw nothing but leaves.'

Lucas was baffled at the sight of the monster currently shoving the fruit inside its mouth.

"What the hell? A fruit?!"

An old man from their group shouted in surprise.

The guy had been too famished that he forgot to stay silent.

Suddenly, the plant looked in his direction.

"Kieeek!"

Its dangerous vines came to the hiding humans.

The old guy's stomach was gouged out as the bloody intestines fell on the soil.

"Kuguk."

He vomited blood and lost his life on the spot.

"Nooo!"

"Run!"

Panic arose from the hearts of the group.

They all ran away in different directions except Lucas and the two policemen.

This time, the carnivorous plant seemed to be stronger than the previous one.

The one was busy chewing a meal while this one was fully concentrated on the fight.

Lucas went out from behind the tree and didn't rush out like before.

The monster turned its head to him and attacked unhesitatingly with its thorny vines.

Mana was felt on the sword of Lucas.

He managed to slice some of the vines, but three others had reached his side chest.

'Shit! Why is it so strong?'

The man backed away and checked his body.

'Bang!'

Kelvin and James were already helping him without being given any orders.

The plant blocked the bullets while using its countless vines as a shield.

Only small holes appeared on its vines.

"That's ridiculous. It can do that?"

James was running away as the monster was already attacking back at him.

"Lucas. Should we run?"

Kelvin asked from a distance.

Surprisingly, Lucas shook his head in rejection.

He knew that their first step to survival was here.

'That crimson fruit must be the reason it's stronger than before. We must kill it.'

As he thought of this, Lucas ran to the monster in various patterns to evade its strikes.

The plant turned its body and lashed at him again.

Instead of cutting off the vines, he tried to dodge as many strikes as possible.

For this attempt, the man was only hit once and managed to reach the body of the plant.

'Damn! It hurts."

His left arm was used to block the strike as a white bone was now seen from his injury.

Even though he was only grazed, the monster sliced a part of his skin.

Clenching his teeth in pain, Lucas sliced the carnivorous plant from its right side.

Unexpectedly, its body wasn't even close to being slashed off in two.

His blade could only penetrate twenty percent of its right side even with mana.

The eyes of the human went wide at this scene.

He backed off right before the vines could strike him again.

"James! Kelvin! Distract it for three seconds."

Lucas told his two fellows while he ran to the trees.

The two guys stuck out their thumbs in agreement.

From one of the trees, Lucas closed his eyes and let out more mana than usual while concentrating on his sword.

After three seconds or so, he went back to battle.

"I'm back! Get away from the monster."

Lucas said loudly to the two policemen.

His two friends were sweating from top to bottom despite only shooting the monsters in the distance.

They were horrified by the attacks of the monster.

The sturdy tree they were hiding from was demolished by the long vines.

At this moment, Lucas focused on putting more mana in his sword.

"Haaa..."

He was experiencing extreme exhaustion due to using too much mana.

His mind was pushed to its absolute limits.

Lucas slashed using his sword despite being thirty meters away from the carnivorous plant.

'Swing!'

A violet crescent strike came out from his sword.

The monster reacted to his attack by putting out all of its vines in front.

The slash divided the numerous vines into pieces and was about to reach the plant's body.

Blood sprayed on the soil as the monster was perfectly sliced off in two.

Surprisingly, the crescent slash still didn't stop.

It reached a tree behind the carnivorous plant and was bisected while it fell to the floor.

"Jesus. What was that thing?"

Kelvin witnessed the shocking event in front of him.

James had his mouth wide open beside him.

"Help me get the fruits. Quick!"

Lucas shakes them off with his words and took the crimson fruits from the tree that had just fallen.

The three men collected every usable thing in the area including the Loops.

"Let's go."

The leader said to his fellow group and dashed away in a random direction.

After five minutes, they all sat down in exhaustion.

Without a word, all of them grabbed one of the crimson fruits on their shirts and took a bite.

Their eyebrows went up as they felt something magical happening to their bodies.

In just a short time, they gobbled up the fruit.

"My hunger and thirst are gone!"

Kelvin exclaimed to the other two.

"It was so delicious. What the hell is this thing?"

James questioned while holding a crimson fruit.

"I knew something was weird when I saw those monsters fighting each other."

Lucas said while distributing the Loops.

All of them absorbed them without hesitation.

"The reason why that plant was so strong was also because of the fruit. It was thirsty like us."

"Our bodies may be stronger now, but it uses more energy as well. That's why my first attack was weak and didn't even go through half of the plant."

Lucas spoke continuously as he explained the logic behind the previous fight.

"I see. Also, we need to stop using these guns."

Kelvin replied while he put away the gun.

"Agree. Let's go buy weapons that can exert out the strength of our evolved bodies."

The other black guy suggested to his friend.

"Hey. How do we check the time?"

James said suddenly as he stared above him.

The skies of Firalos were dark and the light was slowly disappearing.

"Check the Authority. It was written on the bottom."

His follow policeman replied to him and checked.

Lucas also held the Loop on his necklace and verified the time as his eyes searched the screen.

[Authority]

Time: 26:49:12

It was written on the bottom right of the transparent screen.

"Eh, 26? Why is it more than 24 hours?"

James was confused while Kelvin just shrugged his shoulders in ignorance.

"If this planet is different, time might be longer or shorter depending on its rotation. You might not have noticed but gravity is also stronger. Notice how the other humans were kinda hunched back?”

Lucas knew how physics properly worked.

"I see but that means the six months deadline for the portal might take a long time?"

James said as he understood the explanation.

He recollected the state of the humans when they were transported here by Al’Zaroth.

"It should be longer because a day here is more than 26 hours at the very least."

Kelvin said in turn and sighed.

"Let's go to sleep. I assume you guys are tired too. If I suddenly talk, that means there's a monster."

Lucas suggested as he rested on one of the trees.

The other two followed his action and slept as well.
