In the room there was just a plain, but comfortable bed. A desk, a mirror, a closet, a dresser, and our own bathroom with a shower. Though it was quite spacious.
If we had any request to add something to our rooms, we’d have to fill a form out. I didn’t really care to add anything. I was quite used to empty rooms.
On the bed was the school’s uniform.
Today was the day just to get used to school, we didn’t have class today, but we were expected to be up early tomorrow.
After checking out my room I left and knocked on Rio’s door.
He quickly opened it.
“Leo!”
“How’s your room?”
“It’s amazing! It’s even bigger than the inn’s room!”
“How about yours?”
“It’s good.”
“Do you want to look around the campus?”
I asked him.
“Sure!”
We headed to where we entered, the lobby. There were some students talking to each other and others looking for their room.
“Do you think there's a map somewhere?"
I asked Rio
“I hope... This place is massive!”
“Are you two looking for a map?”
We heard a voice from behind us.
“Yeah. We were going to check out the campus.”
“Oh! Why don’t we go together then?”
Looking behind us we could see a male with dark-brown hair and brown eyes. It was Kazu Heardstone.
“Sure.”
“If that’s okay with you.” Rio replied
“My name’s Kazu Heardstone. Nice to meet you!”
“I’m Leo Vondheart.”
“...I’m Rio Vondheart. Nice to meet you...”
“Oh! You’re brothers?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s nice! That both of you were able to get in together!”
“Yeah.”
He was loud, and overly friendly. Though he was reliable, that was how I had written him.
“Well then, shall we explore!?”
“Sure.”
“Yes!”
It’d seem like Rio was trying his hardest to talk. Though he was able to talk well at the inn it took him weeks before he was very comfortable.
I put my hand on his head.
“Calm down, don’t push yourself.”
He looked at me and perked his eyes.
“Yes!”
We had gone around to explore the campus and Kazu invited some of our other classmates as well, he seemed to fit in well. He really was overly friendly.
It had taken us a few hours to walk around all the campus, we learned where a lot of things were though. We’d still need a map for the first few days though probably, this place was just that big.
After we had all returned to the dorm I went to my room, I was tired. So, I slept.

The next morning before class I ran around the track. I think Rio was too nervous to sleep last night because he didn’t get up even after I knocked on his door a few times.
When I got back to my room, I took a shower and put on the uniform, it was a perfect fit. How did they know? I have no clue. But whatever, it was comfy, and it looked quite nice.
I had heard knocking at my door. It was probably Rio.
I had opened my door
“Morning.”
“Goodmorning Leo!”
“Goodmorning!”
It was Kazu and Rio. An unexpected pair.
“I’ll see you in class! I’m going to greet everyone else! See you!”
And just like that Kazu went to another door.
“How’d you sleep?”
“I was too nervous... So, I barely got any...”
“Should I sing you a song tonight?”
“Please...”
“Alright.”
We headed to class. There were a lot of desks, probably 1 for each student. They were quite big as well. I had picked one of the desks in the back and Rio sat at the desk to my right.
This was my first time ever going to school.
We weren’t the first people to arrive.
Rio and I were talking about school while the classroom slowly started to fill. Eventually, everyone had arrived, and we were just waiting for the teacher.
Kazu was talking to a lot of people, he was really extroverted.
A few minutes later the door opened. The teacher walked into class.
He cleared his throat before starting to speak.
“Good morning, everyone.”
“I will be your teacher for the next few years. My name is Grant Mispholfo.”
He then put multiple pieces of paper on the whiteboard behind him. These papers contained our names.
“I will be teaching all of you to the best of my ability and will help with school affairs. Any personal affairs that don’t involve school can be settled by yourselves.”
He then gave us each a piece of paper that said ‘Schedule’ at the top. It also included a list of classes. There were some core classes like P.E and History that were filled in already.
“I will now go over what each of these classes are and do.”
“Swordsmanship will teach you how to use a sword.”
“Combat Magic will teach you how to cast combat spells.”
“Peaceful Magic will teach you non-combative spells.”
“Mana Control will teach you how to control your mana.”
“Archery will teach you how to use a bow.”
“Body training class will train your body.”
“CQC will teach you how to fight in hand-to-hand combat.”
“Skills will teach you how to use your skills.”
“Real Combat will teach you what it’s like in a real fight.”
“Specialized Talent Class, this class will be specialized for your talent so come to me if you're interested.”
The list went on for a while, but I wasn’t interested in the rest of them. It wasn’t only combat classes, there was some production, cooking, alchemy classes too, there was even artifact making and stuff like that.
“After you pick your classes, give me your paper. If you need advice picking any of them, come to me.”
There were only a few classes that made sense for me to be in anyway.
Swordsmanship, Body training, and Real Combat were the ones I needed. Though I didn’t have any fighting talent, learning these would probably be essential. After all, in a few years they’ll be a massive war between humans and demons.
