3 Weeks later...
Every day was practically the same, nothing of note happened during that time. I was still learning the ‘Lout Swordsmanship’ every day and classes continued as normal.
“Haah.”
I yawned as I got out of bed, it was Monday so there were no special classes today, everyone in Class C would be together and it’d be a regular school day... Or so I thought.
Walking out of my room in basic attire, I knocked on Rio’s door, it was time for our morning run.
A few seconds later a sleepy Rio opened the door. He was wearing some oversized pajamas that looked comfy.
“Haah, morning Leo!”
“Morning.”
“I’ll put on my running clothes now, one second!”
The door shut and I stretched my arms
I definitely felt way more tired today than usual. I don’t think I did anything yesterday that would make me this tired.
A few dozen seconds later I heard a voice from behind me.
“Morning Leo!”
It was Kazu, he seemed to be just waking up as well, at some point he started to join me and Rio in our runs.
“Morning.” I waved my hand towards him
“Is Rio awake?”
“Yeah.” I yawned
A few moments later Rio’s door opened.
“I’m ready-Oh, good morning Kazu!”
“Good morning, Rio!”
Those two quickly settled their greetings and we went out to the track and started to run.
…
It has gotten way easier to run, it was probably a mix of consistency and the teachings we’ve received.
Running was also a great way for me to think to myself-
What could I do with this music talent?
Leo Vondheart – 18
Skills – Peace of Mind, Status, My Heart to You
Talents – Music
Stats: D+
Strength: D-
Agility: D+
Dexterity: D
Stamina: C-
Mana: F-
‘Peace of Mind’ just made my heart calm, and ‘My Heart to You’ allowed me to share my calm feelings with anyone who heard my voice...
This ‘Peace of Mind’ skill definitely works, but I wonder how much it works? Like... I knew I was mad when those kids had hit Rio, but shouldn’t this skill stop that? Or is there a thresh point where it stops working...
Hmm...
Peace of Mind (A Grade)
Calmness isn’t an easy feat; however, you are able to stay calm in even the most dangerous of situations. Your soul is as calm as your heart, it isn’t easy to disrupt it.
Huh? I stopped running and stared at the blue screen.
The skill changed; it wasn’t this descriptive before. Is it as I get stronger the more I know about the skill? Or is it because of some other reason? This is confusing... Wait, if this one changed does that mean ‘My Heart to You’ changed as well?
My Heart to You (B Grade)
Those feelings in your heart shouldn’t be kept to yourself, you are able to share these feelings with all who hear your voice.

The description for this skill changed as well, isn’t it practically telling me that I could sing to people to calm them down? I mean, this would probably be useful in the future, but I don’t really see a use for this now.
I didn’t notice it at that time, but there was another small blue screen behind my status screen.
“Leo?”
I heard a voice from behind me, it was Rio. Kazu was next to him.
“Are you done running?”
The blue screens quickly disappeared, and I looked back at Rio-
“No, I was just taking a short break.”
“Alright!”
Rio began to run again, and I shortly followed. Kazu stood still with a confused look on his face for a moment before running as well.
---
After we finished running, we all went back to our rooms and got ready for class.
Me and Rio walked to class together while Kazu greeted everyone else as they woke up.
After we got to class, I immediately put my head down at my desk, I was tired and wanted to relax.
I could hear Rio talking to another student, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying, I closed my eyes and drifted off.
---
It was a dark, rainy day, my eyes suddenly opened wide, and I jolted up.
“This is...”
Looking around I could see the beat-up walls, the dirty floor and the piles of bottles, followed by trash.
I looked at my tiny hands
“A dream?”
*Cough*
My chest hurts...
“No...”
“The past...”
I wanted to move my body, but I couldn’t, it was like I was watching a first-person movie, my body moved on its own.
I got up and walked over the trash, making my way towards the kitchen. I took a pill from off the counter. It was expired cold medicine; I don’t remember how old I was during this, but I know it was definitely before Uncle found me.
I swallowed the pill without any water, soon after I walked towards the window. On the reflection of the stained glass, I could see a small, blonde kid with messy hair.
When was this? I couldn’t remember. But I looked like I was under 10... Why was I having this sort of memory now?
“L-!”
I could hear a scream, it sounded familiar.
---
I woke up and jolted up in my seat. I looked around and everything seemed normal, everyone was still chatting with each other.
I put my hand on my heart and I could feel it beating faster than usual-
“Leo?”
It was Rio, he looked at me with concern.
“Are you alright?”
Maybe it was because I suddenly jolted up or something, but he looked a little worried.
“Yeah.”
“I’m fine.”
I wasn’t lying, though my heart was beating fast for a moment I felt calm. But... Although I didn’t remember when that memory was, it felt unpleasant.
“That’s good!” Rio seemed to have a smile.
I looked around once more and saw that Kazu was sleeping, he seemed tired this morning, so it didn’t seem strange to me.
Everyone except the teacher was in the class now.
Rio and I were talking to each other for a few minutes before the teacher came in.
“Good morning, everyone.”
“I have an important announcement today.”
