“Is it almost done?”
“It is.” Cirrus takes out a bowl and hands it to Ai pouring in some soup.
“Sniff! Sniff! Waah! It smells so good!”
“Make sure you blow on it, it’s pretty hot.”
The two are currently eating under the crystal ceiling of the 50th floor. Having defeated the Balor the two decided to rest at the 50th floor as it was a safe point in the dungeon. They found and cleared out an area on a hill and set up camp to rest.
“These crystals are really pretty.” Ai said looking up.
“Yeah…it makes this floor more special that not many people can come here and see this sight.” Cirrus looks out to the rest of the crystal lit floor. “These sea of gray colored trees with vein-like rivers running through the trees…this is a sight only for the brave and strong…I can only imagine how many people it first took to get here?”
Ai could see in Cirrus’s eyes a calm yet distant look, he has seen death before both in the dungeon and on the surface, so a question popped into Ai’s head.
“…Hey Cirrus um…can I asking you something…uncomfortable?” she said putting down her bowl.
“Depends on what it is?” he looked at her.
“Um well…what would you have done if I didn’t kill the Udaeus and I…died?”
“…A rather morbid thought no?”
“I know but…I’m curious on what you would do?”
“…” Cirrus thought on it for a bit, it was long enough that Ai had realized he had never entertained the thought of her dying and he was thinking on how he would react. “…I would be furious, not just at the Udaeus but at myself to have let it happen, I would rage and scream, tears would fall from my face in sheer agony of losing you. I would stop at nothing until the monster had truly been killed.”
“…And if it was a person?” she asked quietly.
The fire crackles and she could see a cold look grow in his eyes. The eyes grew such a sharpness with cold indifference it was like looking into the eyes of a stone cold killer.
“I would hunt them down and slaughter them, be it man or god nothing will stop me until I have killed the one who took your life.”
Ai felt a complex emotion. She had known despite the answer she was going to feel a negative emotion but on how Cirrus painted how he would act it was a pain of losing a loved one. It made her happy that he holds her in that high of regard to do all that. But should she truly be killed, Cirrus would set the world on fire hunting the person or thing responsible. Jubilation and woe mixed around in her.
“Can I ask you the same question?”
Crackle!
“Eh?”
“What would you do if I was killed?”
“…”
She also never held the thought that Cirrus would die, even as children Cirrus was strong. He quickly picked up skills and techniques, he even faced Kaguya till she won after 2 hours of back and forth fighting. The thought also never came to mind since she learned Cirrus was Zephyr, a kid around her age who has slain dangerous monsters and faced Evilus’s Familia’s on his own. Thinking on it now Cirrus was probably holding back during those spars.
'No wait? There was once? When he was beaten by Ottar, I felt my heart drop but...what did I think that moment?'
So…what would she do if he was killed? The question evaded her.
“…I…I do not know…” she looks at the sea of trees and her eyes water. “I think…I will be very sad…and that I will most definitely cry…whether I go and find the person who killed you I do not know…nor do I ever wish to learn.”
Cirrus could see she put herself in a bad mood, by now she would have asked for 2 more servings but not now. But hearing her answer told him two thing, one, she doesn't see herself as a violent person who could such acts as himself. Two, she hasn't lost something close to her, that last thing he got made him a bit happy given the time they live in.
“Why not head off to bed, I’ll keep watch.”
She turned to him and nodded.
“Sorry for the heavy question.”
She left back into the tent and closed it.
“…” Cirrus pokes at the fire and stares at it and then his hand. ‘…We all die someday…I already know what death feels like….I'm sorry Ai but if worse comes to worse I don’t want you to know the feeling of death…but I also don’t want you to know the feeling of mourning.’
Poking at the fire a bit he looks at his hands again, he blinks and he could see them lathered in blood, he blinks again, and it’s gone.
‘I thought I was long pass this…’ He could hear the distant screams of those he killed in his mind. He starts to think on some songs to drown them out.
Cirrus closes his eyes to rest and in his sleep he met with Hecton, the Hecatoncheires.
“…Are you keeping watch of my body.”
“I am…”
Woosh!
Woosh!
“So have you explored this place yet?” Cirrus said looking around at the island that bore great similarity to Circe's island.
“I have, and I looked at every tree and leaf, pebble and boulder, every grain of sand and clump of dirt.”
“And the sea?”
“I have looked.”
“And??”
“…It’s the sea, all salt water with no life in it.”
“So…it’s just an empty body of water?”
“Yes, there is no creature in this place besides the hawk and myself, as well as a white owl that comes out at night such as now."
Cirrus looks up to see a white owl flying high in the sky as if it was the moon.

“Ah…well so long as it’s peaceful…”
“Yes it-oh seems something came up.” Hecton quickly disappears.
“Hm wha-“
Slowly opening his eyes he could feel himself being dragged, he looks to find Ai bringing him into the tent.
“Ai?” he said groggy.
“Oh sorry, if found you asleep so I’m just um… just close your eyes alright?” she said looking a bit away from his face.
Cirrus’s blinks and the next thing he knew he was inside the tent; he was to drowsy to really care but when he felt something warm on his chest his eyes widen.
“A-Ai?” he said.
She looked at him with her clear purple eyes.
“Sorry…I just wanted to be near you.” Her face slightly blushed.
Seeing her cute expression Cirrus hugged her.
“!!”
“If you wanted to sleep with me you just had to ask.”
He closed his eyes and slowly went to sleep, the scent of hibiscus lulled him to sleep.
Ai at first blushed at his response but being so close with him she could hear his heartbeat, the way his muscles felt, his scent of a clean, crisp smell like that of early spring rain.
As they submerge themselves in each other’s scent locked in by the tent they both slowly went to sleep…at least that is what Cirrus had thought.
“Cirrus.” Ai said in a sultry voice.
He felt something warm on his lips, her hands wrapping around him holding him in as the warm taste of the soup he made her poured down his throat.
“!!” His eyes shot open; the drowsiness quickly was stripped away by her lips.
Her grip was tight, and all Cirrus could do was drink her in, each breath as it came, the soft tenderness of her lips, it all served to fill him with vigor.
Cirrus felt a primal instinct inside him come clawing out.
“Ai!!”
“Kya!”
Now he was the one on top. The look in her eyes leveled him.
His mind was racing. He didn’t know what she would like, he felt a sense of nervousness he haven't felt in a very, very long time. He did what his brain told him to do and follow the flow.
He kissed her lips more passionately then before; he begins to take off her white and purple kimono revealing her deceptively fair bust size.
Ai in turn begins to remove his buttoned shirt but as he removed her kimono she felt a sense of terror and hope with his gaze on her exposed body.
He began to kiss her chest and down her milky-white skin. He could taste the salt of her sweat. With each kiss lower and lower these feelings grew.
As Cirrus was making his way down he found that she had already token off her pants and she only had red lace panties on. He removed them and began to kiss her beneath. He could feel her trembles with each breath, kiss, and lick.
Her trembling body was awash in an intense feeling of love, her mind was swimming in endorphins.
Cirrus grabbed her hands, and the sense of terror slowly went melted away in pleasure, slowly washing over her.
Their hearts were beating against their chest in a deafening pace.
Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!! Ba-bum!!
They both were breathing heavily.
“Huff!! Huff!! Huff!! Huff!! Huff!! Huff!! Huff!! ”
Cirrus looked up to see her breasts going up and down from her heavy breathing. He begins to take off his pants and underwear.
Ai could see the look of single-minded passion in his emerald eyes, a look of lust. She felt joy seeing him with that look because of her.
“Cirrus!” She locked eyes with him and said with open arms. “I love you.”
“Ah.” Those eyes leveled him once more.
Snap!
Any reasoning he had left was utterly gone.
