To think, I would meet another player so soon after arriving in this place.
It's great.
Now I just hope she has some answers about what is going on here, and that she's friendly.
Because just because she's the guild master here doesn't mean I trust her at all yet.
Still looking at me Igraine put a soft smile on her face.
She then hopped off the desk and walked over to me. Putting her own face inches away from mine.
"My, what a fine specimen you are." Igraine said. "We rarely get dark elves around these parts."
"So people keep saying." I mused. "The name is Aelion Strax by the way." I told her.
"Igraine Roldare. Guild Master of Wishe. A pleasure to meet you Aelion." Igraine told me.
"The same." I said.
As I did so Igraine backed off and then went to sit in the chair behind her desk. Her gaze then turned to Alicia. "So Alicia, how did you meet Aelion?" She asked.
"Master it's like this." Alicia began.
She then explained how we met.
"I see." Igraine said after the story was finished. "Well that certainly is quite the meeting. Thank you for saving her Aelion." She told me.
"It was no trouble at all." I said.
Igraine simply nodded. She then looked at Alicia again. "Now then Alicia, do you realize what you did wrong in that situation?" She asked in a scolding voice.
Alicia flinched, but nodded her head. "Yes master, I should've brought allies with me instead of going at it alone. I understand and it won't happen again." She said.
"Good, so long as you understand." Igraine told her. "Now then if you would, please leave the room. You too May. I would like to have a private discussion with Aelion."
"Fu master, please don't devour him." May said, releasing a small sigh. "The last time you did that with someone in your office everyone in the guild could hear you going at it. Please don't make us relive that incident."
"Fufu, no promises." Igraine said, putting a smile on her face.
As for me I simply took it in stride.
If this pretty woman wants to have sex with me I don't mind at all.
Hearing Igraine's answer May sighed again, while Alicia simply shook her head.
The two of them then took their leave, closing the door behind them as they did so.
Once they were out fo the room Igraine started casting magic.
As she did so I got ready to attack.
"Relax, I am simply putting up a silencing spell around the room." Igraine explained.
"Well I didn't know that." I retorted.
"Now you do." Igraine said.
"Right." I said. I then looked Igraine straight in the eyes. "So, you're just like me, a player right?"
Igraine nodded. "I am. You should've seen the title when you used {Appraisal} on me a moment ago. Just like I did when I used it on you."
"Yeah, I saw it. But since I just arrived here and don't really understand anything about this place I wanted to make sure is all." I explained.
"Completely understandable." Igraine said. "So before we continue how about you make yourself comfortable. I have a lot to fill you in on after all."
"Thank you I will." I said.
I then moved over to one of the couches in the middle of the room and sat down. Igraine coming over to sit in front of me.
"So then, where would you like to begin?" Igraine asked.
"First of, what is this place we are in?" I asked.
"We are in the world of Ur on the continent of Ur." Igraine told me.
As soon as she did so my eyes widened.
Since Ur is the name of the world where Ethereal Ark Online takes place. It's also the name of its only continent, a massive supercontinent.
Looking Igraine straight in her eyes I can tell she is not lying to me.
"So, you're saying we're in the game? We're actually in Ethereal Ark Online?" I asked her.
As I did so Igraine shook her head. "No, we are not. To be more precise we are in a world based off the game Ethereal Ark Online. But this is not the game itself." She told me. "Although parts of this world still function like the game like classes and status boards everything and everyone here is 100% percent real. In this world if you do you don't get a re-start. Trust me, I've seen it." She said.
"Good to know." I said. "Ok, moving on. Is there anyway to return to our original world?" I asked. Curious.
"No, there is not." Igraine told me immediately. "At least not any way I've ever heard of. And I've been here for a while."
"How long is a while?" I asked.
"Ten years." Igraine told me.
"What, you've been here for ten years?" I questioned.
Igraine nodded. "Yes, I have."
"But, how?" I asked her.
Igraine shrugged. "Again, no idea. All I know is this. I went to sleep one night back in my old life after playing for a while on the game, and then in the next instant I woke up here all alone. Sound familiar?"
I nodded. "Yeah, that's exactly what happened to me."
"It seems that's the way all players end up in this world." Igraine said. "No matter when they appear here." She told me.

Igraine then started explaining various things to me.
Including her own situation.
Ten years ago when she was nineteen years old she was dropped into this world. Having no clue how she came to be here just like me. She was frightened and scared beyond belief.
But eventually she ran into another player who helped her come to terms with her new reality.
Which he had done many years ago.
Since apparently the player who helped Igraine acclimate to this world arrived in it before 30 some odd years ago.
After Igraine told me this she explained to me that players can appear in this world at any time. Some have even appeared in the past.
She gave me various examples and references. Including terms and ideas that could've only come from the world we both originated from. From foods to inventions. A lot of it was created by the players who came before and those that appear now.
Igraine also said its impossible to predict when a player will arrive in this world. They simply appear. But she also told me no matter what a player will have the title [ Player ].
She's confirmed this after meeting several other players over her decade long stay in this world.
As Igraine shared all this with me I thought about my friends. Wondering if they are in this world just like me, or maybe they could be long dead. Since Igraine said the time period players appear in in this world is completely random as well.
"Hey, are you ok?" Igraine asked. "You have this really distressed look on her face."
"Yeah, well this is just a lot to take in is all." I told her.
"Believe me, I know. Everyone else says the same thing." Igraine spoke. "But hey, after a while this places grows on you. Like I said before these people around us aren't just bits of data or NPC's. They are living and breathing. I've made friends here and I quite enjoy my new life." She spoke, putting a smile on her face as she did so. "Do I miss my old life sometimes, a bit sure. But to live in a world based on a game I loved. It's not bad at all. What I'm saying is Aelion is that life is now what you make of it. If you want to try and find a way home that's your business. But remember, you decided your own future."
"Thanks. I'll remember that." I told Igraine.
"Good." Igraine spoke. "So anymore questions?"
"Yes." I said. "When I tried to access my friends list before when I fist discovered my status board I got an error message. What's that all about?"
"Ah, that. It's another thing that happens to all players. Unless you meet a person you know and re-add them to your friends list you won't be able to communicate with them at all. It's seriously annoying, but that's just how it is." Igraine explained to me.
"I see." I said. "Hey, if it's not too much trouble do you mind if I give you the name of my friends and maybe you could see if there is any information out there about them?" I asked.
Since I'm not ready to give up on my friends just yet.
"Sure, I don't mind." Igraine said.
"Thanks." I told her.
"Think nothing of it." Igraine said. "I've been in your situation so I know how things are. Now then, lay it on me." She said.
Once she did so I gave Igraine the information on my friends. From the design of their characters to their avatar names, to their real names. Just in case they were using either or in this world. I also gave her several other bits of information to try and locate them if they are in this world.
As soon as I finished Igraine nodded. "Ok, got it."
"Right." I said. "So onto the next thing. Does the level cap exist in this world?" I asked.
Back in Ethereal Ark Online there was a level cap for players. Last time it was updated the cap was 300. So I'm curious to see if its transferred over.
"Hard to say." Igraine said. "I've never met a person in this word player or native with a level over 300. The only beings that have such high levels are monsters."
"Understood, also native?" I questioned.
"A term we players have come up with to distinguish ourselves from the people born in this world." She explained.
"Understood." I said. "On that note, how do the people of this world feel about us? The players I mean."
"It varies. Some think we messengers sent by the gods. Others call us demons. While most have simply come to accept us as commonplace. This is a world of fantasy after all." Igraine explained.
I nodded.
"Alright, so next up currency." I said. Since if I'm going to be living in this world from now on I need to be able to pay for things. "If I had money from the game can I use it in this world?"
Igraine nodded. "You sure can. Even the value of the coins is the same." She explained. "Also the time cycle is the same from our old world as well. seven days a week, 24 hours in a days, 60 minutes in an hour. You get the picture. The names of the days of the week are even the same, as our the months. The only difference is all the months in this world have 30 days so the year is 360 days."
I nodded once more.
Also I am glad all the currency in my items box won't go to waste.
"Well I think that's all for today." I said.
"Understandable. You've had a lot happen to you in just the last few hours. Don't want to overload you." Igraine said. "So take a rest for the rest of the day and we'll continue tomorrow. I even have the name of a good inn for you to stay the night at. It's called the Red Rover." Igraine told me.
"Thanks." I told her. "No, I really appreciate all the help you're giving me. Without I would be stumbling around in the dark."
"Again, think nothing of it." Igraine said.
"Right, well then if you'll excuse me." I said.
"No problem. But one last thing Aelion. I think it would do you good to become an adventurer."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because for ordinary citizens travel between counties in this world is highly restricted. Not to mention you don't have any ID at all. However becoming an adventurer allows one to travel between countries easily. It also gives you a form of ID. That way you can search for your friends and go basically wherever you want. Just think about it."
"Sure, I will." I said.
But honestly from the way Igraine just described things I have already decided to become an adventurer.
"That's all I ask." Igraine said. "Well then see you tomorrow."
"Right, tomorrow." I said.
As I did so I said goodbye to Igraine and left her office.
Processing all that I had learned from her and also thinking about my plans for the future as well.
