Igraine kicked things off with telling me what the actual job is we adventurers do.

"Basically, we're a private organization that is allowed to operate within most countries of this world." She said. "We take on requests that a countries military either doesn't have the time for or can't attend to due to various circumstances. This includes slaying monsters, escorting caravans, dealing with bandits and thieves, etc.. Basically what your typical fantasy world adventurer work like in those novels and anime back in the old world."

"So you were a fan of those as well?" I asked.

Igraine simply nodded. "Sure was."

She then moved onto the next topic in our discussion.

Namely the fact the countries cannot interfere with the internal workings of the Adventurer's Guild unless extreme circumstances occur. While vice versa the same is true. The Adventurer's Guild cannot interfere in the internal affairs of a country unless in the most dire of straights.

Building upon this when war between two countries breaks out Adventurer's may not participate under any circumstances. If they do their standing as one will be revoked and they will simply be reduced to a common mercenary.

Not afforded any of the benefits that come with being an adventurer ever again.

"We're more than common thugs for hire." Igraine spoke. A passion in her voice. "If you just want to kill and mame then simply become a mercenary in the first place. But don't drag the Adventurer's Guild into your bullshit. That's a thing we adventurer's won't tolerate."

I simply nodded, understanding where Igraine is coming from.

"Ok, time for the next topic. Rank." Igraine said.

She then told me about the Adventurer's ranking system.

Adventurer's are ranked based on their skills. The rankings themselves are as follows.

F>E>D>C>B>A>S

With F rank being the lowest rank an adventurer can have. Even children can gain this rank.

While S rank is the highest rank an adventurer can have. But it is also the most difficult to achieve.

"S-rank adventurers are no joke." Igraine spoke. "I've never met one personally but the stories say they can destroy a small nation on their own, and at given time in the world there are only ten or less active S-rank adventurers." She explained.

"Understood." I said.

S rank Adventurers are monsters.

"So question. Why did you ask May to make my rank C, shouldn't I start off at rank F since I am just signing up?" I asked.

"It's because I judged your skills to be above F rank and at C." Igraine said. "Us guildmaster's do have a quite the leeway in matters where such a matter is concerned. But if you want to go above C-rank you'll have to earn that yourself."

"No problem." I said. "Actually being C-rank right off the bat helps me quite a bit so thanks."

"Sure." Igraine said.

She then went on to explain various other things about the adventurer's guild and adventurers in general. As she did so I paid close attention to every word she spoke until finally she stopped.

"Well that's about it for that." Igraine told me. "Now one more thing." She said.

Igraine then moved over to her desk and opened one of the doors. Reaching inside she took something out and then tossed it to me.

Catching it I unfurled it and saw it is a map.

"That's a map of the current state of the world, including all countries and such." Igraine explained.

This is extremely valuable.

"By the way the country we're in right now is the Altare Kingdom" She said.

Looking at the map in my hands I easily found the Altare Kingdom. Located in the western potion near the ocean.

"I see it." I said. I then rolled up the map and placed it inside my items box.

Just as I did so someone knocked on the door.

"It's me again." May said from the other side.

"Come in." Igraine said.

When she did May opened the door. She then walked right up to me and presented me with a plain white card featuring all the information I had written down on the application earlier. As well as my rank.

Name: Aelion Strax

Age: 21 years old

Race: Dark Elf

Main class: Dark Knight

Sub-class: Assassin

Rank: C ]

"Here you are Aelion, your adventurer's card." May said.

"Thank you May." I said.

I then took the card.

"Well congratulations Aelion. With that you are now officially an adventurer." Igraine happily said to me.

"Master isn't there something you are forgetting?" May questioned. Using a finger to adjust her glasses as she did so.

"Right, right, May. I know and am just getting to that." Igraine said, waving May off. "Aelion please come over to the magic orb and placed your palm on it, while holding your guild card in the other one."

"Sure." I said.

I then did as Igraine instructed.

As I did so I saw the magic orb light up and my guild card as well. But it only lasted for a minute before both lights faded. Though after it did so new words appeared on my guild card at the bottom.

Number of quests completed: 0

Number of quests failed: 0 ]

"What just happened?" I asked.

"It's a special magic we of the Adventurer's guild possess." Igraine began. "What just happened is your data being entered into our system. Now even if someone steals your guild card they won't be able to use it, and should it get destroyed or you lose it you can go to any adventurer's branch in the world and get a new one. Though it will cost you five bronze coins to do so." She explained. "Also, you can now track the number of quests you complete and those you fail if that happens."

"Wow." I said.

No, seriously wow. This guild card is amazing.

"I know. I had the same reaction when I first became an adventurer all those years ago." Igraine told me.

"Well since everything is in order here I'll take my leave." May said.

She then gave a curt bow before leaving, closing the door behind her as she did so.

Once she did Igraine and I discussed several more things. Even information about my comrades.

Though she hasn't heard anything back yet about any of them.

Which is to be expected since I only gave her the information yesterday.

Finishing up our conversation I bid her farewell and then left the guild and returned to the Red Rover.

Heading up to my room I made a list of things I wanted to get done.

Namely explore the city of Wishe with my own eyes.

"Yep, that's tomorrow's plan." I said.

As I did so I heard a knock on my door.

Turning towards it I saw Margret enter with my dinner.

Thanking her I took it and then she left. I then enjoyed another great meal before turning in for the night.

Since I want to get a bright and early start tomorrow morning.
