Chapter 3: Prologue

Sitting in front of my desktop I thought of nothing else but finishing off the monster on the screen in front of me.

My focus airtight.

As I continued clicking my mouse and my keyboard to activate my set spells and skills I watched as the monsters HP continued to slowly but surely drop.

The battle continued for I don't know how long, but when the monsters HP finally reached zero I smiled.

Due to the notification popping up in big and bold letters across my screen.

[Quest Cleared!]

"Yes!" I shouted in my headset. "We did it guys!" I happily said.

As I did so I received the same reply from my comrades.

A sense of accomplishment filling me.

We did just finish a difficult ass quest after all. One we had been planning to tackle for weeks now.

The battle was not easy, but it was definitely worth it in the end.

Since thanks to completing this quest not only have we gathered some primo drop items but all of us have also reached level 240 in game thanks to the battle.

Yes, it's good tidings all around.

As our little celebration finished up I said goodnight to my friends and then logged off. Standing up from my chair as I did so.

Stretching my arms into the air I looked at the time on the screen.

[11:30 Pm]

"Shit." I softly said.

I need to get to bed.

Seeing as I have a job interview tomorrow and all.

Ah but before I do allow me to introduce myself.

I'm 22 years old, and just graduated from college with a degree in history.

Right now I just finished up another exciting adventure in the biggest MMORPG to come out in recent years.

A game called Ethereal Ark Online.

It's a world filled with magic, fantasy, and everything else you could wish for.

Even airships and guns.

I kid you not.

Back when I was in my freshman year of high school is when the game first game out.

At the time be and my best friend Ryan immediately took an interest in it, and were some of the first people to really play the game.

Now at first Ethereal Ark Online didn't get great reviews.

People talked shit about the game mechanics and whatnot, but despite this the two of us really became fan of it.

And soon enough a large number of other people did as well.

Today Ethereal Ark Online has more than one million players from all across the world.

My friends and I included.

Well that's all I wanted to say.

Pushing in my chair I quickly went to the restroom and then hopped into my childhood bed.

Since until I find a job my parents are allowing me to stay with them.

Which I find no shame in.

As I got comfortable I closed my eyes and then quickly drifted off to sleep.

Having no clue at the what that it would be the last time I ever slept in my childhood bed, or saw my childhood home ever again.
