Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Undercurrent. 

Human Federation base, on planet Xeater.

 

“Hurry up, restock the weapon and repair the hull.”

 

“Where is the new helper?”

 

“You over there, carry that part.”

 

Right now inside the base is busy with people. There are not only humans but also other alien species that work for the Federation.

 

Without them knowing, a Brukzel is walking near them to spread the virus. The virus spreads fast; after that it will stay dormant for several months to evolve. When the virus evolves to the next stage, it will begin attacking the body.

 

There are many Brukzel working inside the Human Federation base. They hate humans and Engers for conquering their planet. In the end most of them choose to surrender to survive.

 

“Hurry up.” A cold faced woman with light blonde hair and hazel eyes said to his younger brother.

 

“Sis, wait, we still have time.” Behind her is a handsome man with blonde hair.

 

After arriving on planet Xeater, Eleanor and Asher have been in charge of one of the human base sector. Actually their job is giving order, the other will help them managing this sector. They walk past a Brukzel that carrying a box.

It's already been a week since I have returned to the mansion. For Sara and Vance, I let them choose to join the Red Cobra group for a while or find another place to stay. Both of them agreed to join. I am surprised that Vance also wants to join, I thought he would leave after sending us near the city.

 

I find out Vance used to work as a spy for the Dread organization. He informs me about it in order to earn my trust, and he must have other motives for telling me. After calling Red Cobra group leader Liam to pick them up, I return to the mansion.

 

My mother, after hearing I had already returned, hurriedly returned to the mansion. That night there is a feast inside the mansion.

 

Sitting in meditation pose, I have been gathering vital energy in my surroundings. I slowly open my eyes. Right now I am in the early stage of adept rank, I can use my mother company to require the stuff that I want. First I need to take over the Pharherb, before this I used my mother as a cover, with my status now there should be no problem.

 

For the woman from the film crew that I helped cure. They all make a fuss about it to promote their movie. Because of that my name has spread around the planet.

Standing up from my bed I decided to go check the Red Cobra group.

Christ right now has cut his long brunette hair short and wears a human face mask, to hide his identity. After following the film crew and telling them, he got lost in the forest. Christ finally returns to Kaross city, with the help of his friend he finally can hide here.

 

Suddenly there is a knock on the door. Startled Christ becomes warry, because only one person knows his location. “Who is it?”

 

“It’s me Vance.”

 

“Vance. Wait, I open the door.”

 

Opening the door Christ sees an unknown man. “Vance?”

 

“I wear a human face mask, let me enter and explain everything.”

 

“Okay”

 

Entering the room, Vance explains everything that has happened to him. Christ also does the same thing. Both of them knew each other by coincidence, because of their job as a spy. They also promised not to expose each other's identity.

 

“How do you find me?”

 

“After I escaped, I began gathering information. Your friend is a traitor; come with me I have a place that you can hide.”

 

“Impossible, I have known him for a long time.”

 

“He is someone that the organization put, to keep a watch on you. The reason you are still alive is that the person can’t kill you in the open and doesn’t know you have escaped.” Vance smiles because he knows Christ is a playboy, and most women will trust him since Christ looks like a woman.

 

Christ looks downcast. “I only sleep with his mistress, not his wife. He doesn’t need to kill me.”

 

“Don’t worry your identity as a double agent has not yet been exposed and for me I am already dead by them.”

 

“To think they betray you, you have worked for them for a long time.”

 

“Sigh, let’s go and change your human face mask.” Vance handed Christ a new human face mask.

 

“Okay.”  

 

After they left, a few hours later a group of men holding a gun entered the room. “Where is that bastard!”

 

“I don’t know; he is supposed to be here.”

Red Cobra group training ground. Sara wearing gym clothes is punching a dummy, every punch can knock out a full grown man. After giving her potion to drink several times to treat her body. Her body condition became stable and her skin became normal again. The only difference is her strength is like a bear.

 

With her pretty face, black hair, and red color eyes from the drug side effect. Sara is famous in the Red Cobra group. But after they all have practice fighting with her all the men get defeated. Because of that every time, they see her they quickly try to hide. Afraid she wanted to have a combat practice. 

 

Right now I am wearing a white face mask that only shows the eyes, gambler hat and black long trench coat. “Hello.”

 

Sara startle take a combat stance. After realizing who it was she quickly stood up straight. “Good morning, Mr. Sylas.”

 

I give Sara and Vance my former name. I Still don’t trust them, the same with Liam. “Sara, what is your choice, with your condition already healed except for your eyes. You already can live with humans again.”

 

“Mr. Sylas, I want to stay here.”

 

Looking at her determined eyes. “I will say it again; you will die if you stay here.”

 

“It's fine, I don’t have parents and siblings. No one will be sad if anything happens.”

 

“Fine, I will ask Liam to train you.”

 

“Thank you.” Sara smiles happily.

 

“I want to ask you something, have you killed humans before?”

 

Sara shakes her head. “No, before this I worked for the Federation.”

 

I was surprised to hear that. “Do you know why you have been kidnapped?”

 

“I found something that I should not have.”

 

“What is it?”

 

“The cooperation between Federation higher up and terrorist organization.”

 

“Do you have the information?”

 

“Before being kidnapped, I had to copy the information in my memory card and hide it.”

 

“Good, tell Liam the location of the memory card later to retrieve it.”

 

“Yes.”

 

“Now let’s have combat practice.”

 

Sara became dazed for a minute after hearing it and nodded her head. She's never fought Mr. Sylas before. But she knows she is stronger than a normal man. “Mr. Sylas, be careful; I am stronger than man.” Sara doesn't want to hurt Mr. Sylas pride as a man.

 

I look at Sara and without using any vital energy, I dash straight at her and throw a punch. If Sara's strength is like a bear, my strength is like an elephant after I entered adept rank.

 

Sara, surprised with my speed, tried to defend using her arm to block the punch. At first she thought she could hold it. In the end, she was sent flying. After falling to the ground and rolling a few times, she finally stops.

 

Sara slowly stands up, only bruised on her arm. If I can create an army using the drug it would be great, but the cost and the side effects of the drug make me hesitate. Although I managed to heal her, the ingredient is not cheap and I still haven’t had time to perfected the formula. Another problem is loyalty; I don’t want to get betrayed again.

 

For using brainwash, it will take time and not one hundred percent perfect. Unless I begin brainwashing them from childhood.

 

Sara takes a deep breath, runs toward him and does a flying kick. 

 

From my perspective, her movement is a little slow. “Let’s try my defense” Without blocking the attack, I let her kick my body. Brace for attack, I move one step back and manage to hold the attack.

 

Grabbing her leg, I spin a few times and throw her to the air. Sara falls down on the training floor. “Ouch, that’s hurt.”

 

My body hurts a bit after being kicked. From this fight, I know without using vital energy with my strength alone I can defeat many people.

 

Vital energy contained in my heart strengthens my body, while vital energy stored in my brain allows me to conjure magic. It is difficult for the opponent to kill me, if I use skill and magic at the same time. Unless they use their advanced weaponry.

 

I walk toward Sara to check on her. “Are you okay?”

 

“Yes, just a little bit dizzy. Mr. Sylas you are strong.”

 

“I know, after this go find Liam, and tell him what I said.”

 

“Yes, sir.”
