Chapter 27: Chapter 26: The Military.

Vance and Chris have informed Liam of the government operation to eliminate the terrorist. Any organization suspected of collaborating with terrorists is on the list of those to be eliminated. Vance also discovered that Liam's group name is on the list. In reality, it's an excuse to clean up the cities.

 

The human president of Otune has declared war on the underworld organizations. Many influential people are opposed to this order. Because many of those underworld organizations are supported by certain companies and politicians.

 

Normally, the president would back down and make a compromise. But not this time, the terrorist has tried to kill him. With the support of the human federation and the military, he was able to crush all the opposition that was against him.

 

The military is prepared and is awaiting the order to begin the operation.

The Red Cobra group. After contacting Mr. Sylas, Liam directed his man to relocate to a different location. When he is ready to move, the government issues an emergency declaration. Civilians are not permitted to leave their building today until the government lifts the state of emergency.

 

“Boss what to do?”

 

A man with a scar face and gray hair said, “Don’t panic, get prepared, we will leave using the secret pathway.”

 

"Yes, boss," the man says as he exits the room, leaving Liam and Sara alone.

 

“Have you called Mr. Sylas?”

 

“Mr. Sylas orders us to evacuate, and he is on his way to save both of us if anything happens.”

 

“What about the other?”

 

Liam stays silent, Sara seeing Liam's reaction understand, both of their lives are more important. 

 

Liam understands her feelings, but he has no other options. “Let's hope the military targets other groups first.”

The army has raided many buildings in the cities. The underworld organizations' attempts to fight back were futile. The military is equipped with military weapon

 

“Captain, the criminal group has been eliminated.”

 

“Have you captured anyone?”

 

"No, they all die, including our mole."

 

"It doesn't matter if the mole dies; he's also a criminal."

 

"Captain the mole for the Red Cobra group has already sent us a message that they are attempting to flee."

 

"Order our man to gather; they are our next target."

 

“Yes captain.”

 

Suddenly one of the soldiers came running toward the captain.

 

“What happened?”

 

“Captain, other teams are contacting you.”

Large underground sewer, the human has learned from their past mistake about building a city. They need to lay a good infrastructure to prevent future problems, one of them is a drain system that can support city expansion in the future.

 

Currently, a large number of people are escaping through the large underground sewer. Moving in a small group is the safest option. However, the criminal organizations that have learned of the military operation from their backer have the same idea as Liam.

 

“Damp it, why are there so many people here!”

 

“Stop talking and run, we need to get out of here before the army arrives.”

 

“There are so many people, we are running too slow.”

 

“People in front run faster!”

 

“Stop shouting, go and use another path!”

 

“This is the only path that is far away from the military base!”

 

“I already sent a message; our transport will wait for us there.”

 

Behind the large group is the Red Cobra group. The weird thing is Liam and Sara are running slower than other people.

 

Seeing that they are falling behind Sara spoke. “Why are we running slow?”

 

“I am feeling something is not right.”

 

“Should we tell other members?”

 

“No, according to Vance our group might have a spy.”

 

“Who?”

 

“I don’t know; he doesn’t have time to investigate.”

 

While they are talking, they soon hear someone shout in front of them. “The exit is almost there, keep running!”

 

After several minutes, they can see the exit. Coming out from the smelly sewer is a river and forest.

 

“Ah fresh air.” 

 

“I am tired.”

 

“Contact our man we have arrived.”

 

Almost all of the criminal group gasp for air from running, and begin contacting their transport. Half an hour later, they can see many vehicles are heading their way. The reason they don’t used aircraft is afraid that the military can detect them.

After emerging from the sewer. The Red Cobras went into the forest to rest.

 

“Boss, why are we far away from other groups?”

 

“It’s better to be careful.”

 

Listening to his boss' answer, the man nodded his head. What his boss said is correct, other groups can’t be trusted. One of the men near them looked nervous.

 

Taping on the man's shoulder. Liam spoke. “Don’t be nervous, our transport will be here soon.”  

 

The nervous man nodded his head without saying anything.

 

While the people are resting and discussing their next move. Several multi-leg tanks emerge from the forest, unexpectedly close to the approaching vehicle. The vehicles seeing that become afraid and try to escape, but it’s already too late. The multi-leg tanks begin firing their cannon.

 

“Boom!”

 

“Kaboom!”

 

The vehicle that got hit by the shells exploded and the nearer vehicle flipped over or was damaged.

 

The people from the underworld begin to panic and shout.

 

“Quick enter the forest!”

 

“Run!”

 

Liam, seeing that, shouted. “Run to the forest! Without hesitation he ran deeper to the woods. The rest of the Red Cobra group follow except for one. Instead that man ran toward the multi-leg tank's direction.

 

Sara spoke. “Liam, that man.”

 

“Ignore him.”

 

“Yes.” Sara follows behind Liam.

 

The man that ran away shouted. “Wait, don't shoot; I am a spy for the military!”

 

Inside one of the multi-leg tanks. The pilot is contacting his superior. “Commander, there are multiple people heading our way.”

 

“Shoot, they must be the mole that the military recruit or they want to surrender.”

 

“But why?”

 

“Their identity has already been exposed. The general has already issued an order. We need to clean up the cities this time.”

 

“Understand.”

 

The multi-leg tank aims their cannon at the people that are coming their way. 

 

The man and woman that run toward the multi-leg tanks stop running and look wary. They all feel something is not right.

 

“Boom.” The multi-leg tank fired at them. All of their faces turn pale.

 

“Kaboom!”

 

The rest of the multi-leg tanks begin to fire their machine guns and cannon at the fleeing criminals. Multiple bullets and shells rain down on the criminal that can’t escape to the forest in time. Blood and body parts scattered everywhere. Because of the trees, the multi-leg tanks move slowly to prevent any damage. 

 

Military aircrafts vertical landing in the forest not far from them. Troops of soldiers emerge from the aircraft and begin searching for the criminals.

 

The other cities on planet Otune, experience the same thing. Almost all underworld organizations are being attacked at the same time. Except for the planet native inhabitant, the stur.

The Dread organization base, Planet Otune. “Leader, we should run; the army is heading this way.”   

 

Middle aged man with blonde hair and a full beard looked calm and spoke. “How do they know this base location?”

 

“We don’t know; someone must have leaked our location.”

 

“Prepare to escape.”

 

The middle-aged man had no idea the federation would fight back so fiercely. Actually, their target is not the President, but no one will believe them if they say so.

The Dread organization's headquarters are hidden deep within a mountain, far from any cities. One large plane is approaching the base.  

 

“Raise the altitude and in 5 minute drop the bomb.”

 

5 minutes later. The large aircraft above the mountain dropped the bomb.

 

“Kaboom!” When the bomb hit the mountain surface, its exploded and large mushroom cloud appear. The mountain begins to crumble and collapse from the explosion.

 

“The mission is completed, send the army to the location to search for any survivor.”

I used my assassin skill to hide from the army after arriving in the forest to witness the massacre. Using shadow movement, I begin searching for Liam and Sara. The military is powerful and easily destroy the underworld organization. The reason they don’t do it before is because of a lack of political will.

 

The federation is decisive this time, because of the planet otune president. The president must have connections with someone influential in the human federation.

 

The underworld organization here is weaker compare to Assiorath world. My idea to use the underworld to create a powerful force is in shambles. They can’t even fight back because the military is using their superior military weapons.  

 

I need money and weapons to build a powerful army. There is an occupation that make a lot of money by becoming a space merchant, but it requires many resources and high risk. Because of space pirates, space monsters and natural disasters.

 

Traveling between planets needs the use of a hyperdrive, and there is a limit and cooling-off period based on the planet's location and distance. That means the spaceship required to travel using a thruster for hours or days. Depending on hyperdrive quality.

 

I need to find a way to advance to master rank faster and acquire the spatial storage spell. Suddenly, I recall an old anime on Earth about a black heart doctor who charges people a lot of money to cure their illnesses. Thinking about it is not impossible, however I need to cure my mother first.
