Chapter 30: Chapter 29: Interview.

The military has blocked the roads at the edge of the forest leading to the city at night. Two soldiers are stationed on the road with their military truck.

 

“It’s useless, it’s not like the criminal is stupid to come here.”

 

“We can’t do anything about it, military order.”

 

“I am bored.”

 

“Stay alert.”

 

“Relax, the criminal will not go through here.”

 

After a few hours, they receive a message telling them to return to the base because their mission is over. I'm standing near them, listening to their conversion. They can't see me because I'm using my assassin skill, illusion. My hand began to emit an odorless gas in the direction of the two soldiers.

 

“Okay let’s go.” One of the soldiers moved toward the truck, suddenly he heard a noise behind him. Looking back, he saw his friend laying on the ground.

 

“What happened to you….” Before he can help, that soldier also falls to the ground. Both of them are asleep.

 

Looking at the both sleeping soldiers, I raise my hand and a fireball appears on my palm. Liam and Sara see the fire signal come out from the forest.

 

“What should we do with both of them?” Liam pointed at the sleeping soldiers.

 

“Bring them inside the truck.”

 

Liam and Sara each carry a soldier into the truck.

 

“Why not kill them, the soldiers try to kill us?” Sara dislikes the feeling of being hunted like an animal by the soldiers.

 

“No, we must not alert the military for any abnormality.”

 

Sara can only obey Mr. Sylas' commands. Liam drives them to the city after they get into the military truck.

 

We separated after leaving the truck and soldiers on the outskirts of the city. Liam and Sara are heading to a secret hideout unknown to the rest of Red Cobra group members. There are several members of the group that manage to survive. Because they were not at the base at the time. Liam will contact them after confirming there are no mole from the military.

Next morning, Vance and Chris are discussing the Dread organization's next plan. The clue that they have is according to the military spy, the Freedom fighter, and the Dread organization are planning something big.

 

A man with a beautiful face like a woman with brunette hair spoke. “What to do now? We are too hasty because of that they manage to escape.” Chris is anxious, because the man that sent him to become a lab rat also goes missing.

 

Vance looked at Chris and spoke. “Don’t worry that man that captured you last time is dead.”

 

Chris eyes wide when hearing that. “Really how do you know?”

 

“That man mistress that you sleep with, has another sugar daddy.”

 

“You means; that man has a fight and dies?”

 

“Yes, according to Ruby information.”

 

“Why didn't you tell me before?”

 

“You don’t ask.”

 

“Fine, at least that man is dead.”

 

“Now, our concern is the leader of the Dread organization group Mr. Donald.”

 

“Can’t you contact other Dread organization leaders for cooperation?”

 

Vance shakes his head. “No, despite being a top spy, I am not a high ranking member of the Dread organization.”

 

While they are talking suddenly Vance's phone rings. Looking at the number, Vance looked surprised and answered the phone. “You manage to survive.”

 

From the other side of the phone is Liam's voice. [“Yes, I am lucky but the Red Cobra group have been destroyed.”]

 

“Do you need help?”

“What kind of information?” Vance is perplexed because Mr. Sylas has never purchased information from him. Then again, all of the information he gives away for free about the Dread organization is for his revenge.

 

[“Human experiment data.”]

Inside my mansion room. There are several important tasks that must be completed. I have already directed Liam to find an intergalactic poacher. The federation has rules in place regarding the importation of creatures from other planets.

 

There are a lot of creatures that humans have discovered and recorded. But it was pointless because I needed to examine the creature myself to determine whether or not it had vital energy. And I can't leave this planet for the time being. Blade mantis blood from planet Zitrao is the only creature I have found with energy similar to vital energy.    

 

Blade mantis is not the top predator on that planet. If the poacher can capture or kill the creatures and bring them here. My adept rank beginner stage can advance to middle stage.

 

I've already ordered Pharherb to convert an entire underground floor into a restricted floor. And reinforce it in order to prevent the lab from being destroyed or experiments from escaping. Only a few people will know what I'm doing there. But I need to find someone willing to participate in the inhuman experiment. Professor Henry is out of the question because he is already old and upright.

 

There is a knock on my door as I am contemplating another plan. David, the butler, is waiting outside the door.

 

“Master, it’s time.”

 

“Okay, wait for me downstairs.”

 

“Yes, Master.”

 

Because my mother is in critical condition, all of the servants have stopped referring to me as a young master. My mother's condition is no longer critical, and I am confident that I can heal her.

 

The driver greeted me as I walked toward the car. While the car is on its way to the Pharherb building. I continue to ponder what to do next.

Few days later, a woman with blonde hair and slender body walks down the street. Elena finished her PHD a few years ago, and she thought her future would be bright. But, as fate would have it, she ended up with a nine to five job.

 

“Ahh I am tired; I hope that old hag will lose all her hair.”

 

While grumbling because of today's work, she checks her phone and email for new job openings. She received an email from a company called Pharherb. Elena suspected a scam after reading it because she never sends a resume or CV to Pharherb. Her PHD is related to creature biology rather than the medical field.

 

Finding a café, she sits down and orders a drink.

 

Elena is initially skeptical, but after double-checking for errors, she is convinced. She chose to attend the interview tomorrow. Because she owes a lot of money.

 

“Oh wait, I need to send an emergency leave to the HR.”

At one of the run-down apartment complexes. A middle-aged man with brown hair looks after his ailing daughter. Devin was once a promising doctor from planet Reawei. His doctor's license, however, has been revoked because he conducted a human experiment without permission.

 

He performed human experiments in order to save her daughter from a rare genetic illness. Her body is gradually dying. Devin is able to escape to planet Otune and work as an underworld doctor.

 

Devin can actually join the federation's secret organization to conduct human experiments. But he knew that the federation would not let him waste their resources in order to save his daughter's life. He had no choice but to conduct illegal human experiments.

 

Leaving his daughter's room, Devin goes to his computer to continue his research. After what happened a few days ago, he decided to lay low and take care of his daughter. The government this time has destroyed almost the entire underworld organization. But he knew the new one will replace them soon.

 

While using his computer, he sees many emails. But one of them caught his eyes. It was from Pharherb. He has seen that name before, that is one of the top pharmaceutical companies on Otune.  

 

"Is this a trap to catch me?" Devin is aware that his name is on the wanted list. He decided to go to the interview after considering several options. Because his research has not progressed and his daughter doesn't have much time left. His daughter is the only reason he is still alive after his wife abandoned him because of her depression.

The following morning, at the Pharherb building. Several people are waiting outside the interview room. I'm sitting in my office, getting ready to start the interview. After evaluating their expertise and personality, I chose the people outside for the interview.

 

Actually, I'd like to hire a biotechnology expert, but I've discovered that they work for the federation and other organizations. I wanted to kidnap them, but they are hiding in a secret and heavily guarded location.

 

A woman with brown hair and glasses entered the room and spoke. "Mr. Levi, may we begin the interview?" Vivian is my secretary from Sureset Investment. I ask her to choose between working for me or my mother company. She eventually decided to accompany me to Pharherb.

 

“Yes, begin the interview.”
