Chapter 39: Chapter 38: Hornet Nest. (1)

The humans were united when they first explored the unknown universe. After millions of years, there will always be people with great ambition or greed who want to break away from the human federation and establish their own power and become a new ruler of a planet. As a result, many independent human nations have emerged.

  

Planet Ilara fifty years ago. One of the capital cities of an independent human nation has been attacked. A large floating capsule transport is moving quickly inside a secret underground tunnel beneath the capital city. An elderly man, the ruler of planet Ilatra, and his family are fleeing.

 

“How dare federation frame me!” The ruler of planet Ilatra have been frame for colluding with the terrorist to attack the human federation.  

 

“Father calm down, after we escape we will confront the federation and we will charge the people responsible in the galaxy court.” 

 

“You are right, there are many factions inside the federation. As long as we can find one we will have our revenge.”

 

“Master, we will arrive soon.”

 

“Good contact the army, as soon as we arrive, get ready to take off. When we are in space it’s harder for the federation to find us.”

 

“Yes, master.”

 

The large capsule transport starts to slow down and stop at their destination. After coming out from the underground tunnel, what greeted them was a human soldier. The weird thing is the soldiers are aiming their weapon at their ruler.  

 

Seeing that, the ruler of Ilara shouted. “What are you doing!”

 

“I am sorry; we have no choice if we want to survive.”

 

“What do you mean?”

 

“The federation has promised to reward and spare our life, if we capture you.”

 

“How dare you betray me!”

 

“It's nothing personal. You also run away to save your own life and leave your people that have served your family for hundreds of years.” While taking the soldiers are moving to capture them.

 

“Kaboom!” The aircraft behind them exploded. All of them fall to the ground.

 

“Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!” Multiple bullets kill the rebel soldiers that are laying on the ground.

 

A group of people dressed in black military uniforms appears. “Are you all right, Master?” A middle-aged man approaches the Ilara ruler. At first, the ruler and his family were wary. Then he finally recognizes the voice.

 

“Li, you are safe.” The one that comes to save them is a loyalist of his family.

 

“Yes, master, please hurry and follow us. The federation is on this way because of this traitor.” While pointing his gun at the rebel soldier leader.

 

“Wait, I can explain.”

 

“Bang!” The rebel soldier leader's head was shot.

 

“I understand, everyone, let's go. Van if anything happens, make sure my grandson Donald survives.” The Ilara ruler looks at his only grandson fondly.

 

"Yes, father." A tired-looking boy is holding the man's hand. Near the boy is his mother, who appears tired and disorganized. Because of the sudden attack, the powerful ruler family of Ilara has become a wanted criminal.

Dread organization base. Mr. Donald, the Dread organization's leader, awakens from a nightmare in which he is a child fleeing the federation army. He is the sole survivor in the end. After fifty years, he is able to assassinate those who are responsible for the attack on planet Ilara. 

 

However, the main perpetrator is still alive. He attempted to coerce the Dread organization's top spy, Vance. To give him top-secret federation data, but he refused because doing so would expose his many identities in the federation.

 

In a fit of rage, he ordered that man be apprehended and used as a test subject in a human experiment. The war between humans and stur is coming soon. He needs to be prepared. 

 

Suddenly he hears a knock on the door.

 

“Leader, the new stur ruler, and Lance wanted to contact you.”

 

Opening the door, he sees Josie, a woman with brown hair and slender body. “Tell him I will contact them in half an hour.”

 

“Yes, leader.” After Josie leaves.

“It appears that my strategy was successful.” He is the one who is responsible for the stur massacre. The military-industrial complex and human federation could not have predicted this. The person with whom they collaborate for profit turns out to be their enemy. Now it’s time for more chaos.

Pharherb building. The human experiment has been progressing like usual, but today there has been a disturbance.

 

“Why do we need to obey you; I only listen to Mr. Sylas!” a man with black hair shouted.

 

“Dylan, how many times do I have to tell you. Mr. Sylas asked me to be in charge.” Gianna looked at him with an unconcern expression.

 

“If you want me to obey you need to defeat me first.” After saying that Dylan's body begins to expand a shell begins to cover his head and body. His eyes begin to protrude out from his face and when transformation finishes, he becomes a humanoid Mantis Shrimp. He was already torn and only left a shred of pants.  

 

“Sigh, fine.” Gianna's skin begins to change into black scale, her eyes turn into reptiles and her carnie teeth become a snake fang.

 

Sara, Arian, Logan, and Mateo, a middle-aged man with gray hair and a full beard, were present in the large training room. After being beaten up by Mr. Sylas, Mateo the humanoid Komodo dragon. He eventually comes to his senses and surrenders. But the other is not so fortunate; he learned from Sara that the others were killed because they refused to obey Mr. Sylas.

 

Dylan disappears. Next people can hear a shockwave hit Gianna's body on the side. Gianna likes being hit by strong air cannons that fly to the air.

 

Near her is Dylan. “How do you like a shockwave punch?”

 

When Gianna almost hit the wall. She shifted her weight so that her leg would land on the wall and propel herself toward Dylan like a cannonball.

 

Seeing that Dylan is not afraid, with his hard shell nothing can hurt him. “Bang!” Gianna punches, cracks the shell and sends him flying. “What happened?” Dylan's brain still can’t process what has happened.

 

Gianna then pursued Dylan and pummeled him until he couldn't move. Dylan returns to his normal body after fainting due to a lack of energy. The rest of the people who were watching them vowed not to offend her in the future.

While they are busy, in other areas of the restricted floor. Mr. Sylas, also known as Levi, is checking a little girl with brown hair.

 

“How long can she live?” Devin's daughter 's condition suddenly turned worse because of her genetic illness.

 

“I don’t know, the test is not finished and I don’t dare to test it on her.” Devin is worried and doesn't know what to do. Finally, without any choice, he decided to tell Mr. Levi everything.

 

“Let me see your research.” I have never interfered or involved with any of Devin's research for his daughter. Because I don’t want him to become suspicious of me. 

 

When I read the Devin research my face looks calm and then shocked. The plan name is Phoenix and the process is to let her rebuild a new body. The idea is interesting; this reminds me of what happened inside the butterfly cocoon. A caterpillar's body digests itself from the inside out and becomes a liquid to transform itself into a butterfly. But this idea is more dangerous than the mutant soldier project.

 

“Why don't you try changing her DNA?”

 

“Impossible any fusion or modification, can cause my daughter's DNA polymer that carries the genetic instructions to collapse. That means she will die, the only way is to make her DNA to be reborn and rebuild it.” Devin said like a mad man.

 

I give Devin a thoughtful look. “It's difficult to rebuild her DNA, and you're not God.”

 

“Hahaha, god do you know how many times I pray to him without any answer.” Devin's expression looks hopeless.

 

“Devin, I have a way.”

 

“What! How!”

 

“But this plan required many people as sacrifice.”

 

“Tell me what to do.”

 

“First, you must be strong, and in order to do so, you must become a mutant soldier.”

 

Hearing that Devin without any hesitation agreed. My plan is to absorb a lot of soul energy and transfer it to his daughter Alice. Only after that can we begin changing her body without her soul dissipating. Of course the one that is going to be sacrificed is the stur. From what Liam tells me the stur are planning for full scale war.

 

It appears that I will have to alter my plans. Actually, my research is nearly complete, and I could leave the planet at any time after modify my DNA. However, with this new study, I must wait to see the results. If it's successful, I'll be able to use it on myself.

 

What kind of mutant soldier experiment do I want to perform on Devin? I suddenly recall a psychic power user. However, the test subject's brain was unable to withstand the sudden power and exploded. Even if the test subject survives, they will go insane or comatose.
