Chapter 31: CHAPTER 31: The Invitation

Mickey was very worried while waiting for Harvey to come back. It was already noon but the bastard was not yet there. He entered that red hole in the morning but now the sun was setting, Harvey was still not at the apartment. The room was very quiet and Mickey too was bored. So, he decided to watch TV to entertain himself. He thought that if Kahuna was alive, he may not be fed up. There he seated on the red sofa and then leaned himself. He placed his feet on the table. Mickey smiled even if his mind was anxious about Harvey. In his mind, if he wrinkles his face, maybe Harvey can't recognize him anymore after that man will be back. He giggled while joking with himself.

"One of the malls in the city was ablaze yesterday. Fifty people were found dead and mostly those mallgoers were injured. The fire was out at exactly 3 noon. The cause is still in investigation.", the news reported. Mickey was listening and focused his eyes on the TV then uttered, "What? Had a mall been on fire? It is impossible."

The TV was still on the news when suddenly, Mickey's nape was struck by something. So, he checked but behind him was a wall, it was very impossible to have a hand at the wall. Mickey quickly stood up and moved far away. He observed that wall for a long time but there nothing changed. That wall was still that white. "You can't scare me. I am already used to monsters. Don't waste your time.", Mickey said mockingly on the wall.  He went back to the sofa and then sit again, his guts were very strong so he wasn't afraid. Mickey was surprised after leaning at the sofa's back when of a sudden, the TV's monitor became static and there was no channel anymore. "Death", was the word that bounced inside that monitor.

Mickey scratched his head and then screamed, "HAHAHA! Death. You are wasting your time. Whatever monsters you are. If I were you, I would just bury myself and will rest in peace."

Still, the room was solemn since Mickey was alone in the living room and, Zion was still sleeping in the bed. Mickey was not Harvey's type that will easily chicken out so, he decided to go out and then check the other room. He wanted to know if somebody is having a prank. He knocked at the door on the right of Harvey's room and the owner of that room showed up.

That young man was sluggish while opening and then quickly asked in a slow voice, "I am already paying the rent. Why are you still bothering me?" Mickey didn't understand what that young man was saying. "Honey, are you there? I am not still satisfied." the young man continued. In Mickey's mind, this young man was having loose screws. What he's saying is not having a connection.

The young man was staring at Mickey sweetly but Mickey frowned. Is this young man blind?

Mickey decided to tease and played his voice, he acted like a lady, "I have already done that many times but still you're not satisfied. I am really tired, I can't do it again.", Mickey has gained some knowledge about this thing after staying the real world. He giggled while finishing his sentences and thought that mocking humans was a good hobby.

That young man froze and then replied, "Honey, do you have a cough? Why you're voice is not the same as last night?"

Mickey reflected on the answer and then imitated the lady's voice again, "Haha. It is your fault. My throat is very itchy.", then he laughed silently while staring at the young man.

"Oh, I am sorry. I can buy you some medicine.", that young man quickly replied and then groped through the living space. Mickey watched the man and then laughed loudly. He can't bear his laughter anymore after what stupidity he had done. He was cackling crazily that echoed in the hallway. The other tenants heard it and then slowly opened their doors. They saw Mickey at that young man's door, holding his belly while giggling crazily.

One of the tenants murmured, "Madness is very contagious." In room 16, the woman in his fifties also smiled and then quirked her brows. This apartment was really hell, and people were gradually experiencing retardation.

The young man heard Mickey's loud cackle so he groped and approached, "My honey, why are you laughing that loud?"

Mickey was still in his happiness when suddenly, there something struck his back again, he quickly turned his head and then saw nothing. What he saw were tenants whose faces were confused and amused. Mickey hated to be stared at so he lowered his head while walking back slowly to Harvey's room. The tenants observed him silently. That blind young man was left unaware behind.

"I will hate myself.", Mickey quickly shut Harvey's door and then seated on the sofa.

That TV turned to normal again but the channel was no longer that news but now that cartoon movie. Mickey was amused so he leaned his back and then watched that movie. He screamed when suddenly, that two male cartoon characters kissed in that movie. He didn't understand that thing so he quickly described himself, "Even that cartoon man's clone kissed each other. I can't believe it.", then he laughed. There he focused his eyes on that TV without paying any attention to the environment.

After an hour of sitting on the sofa, there was a knock at the door. Mickey who was still bewitched by that anime unconsciously stood up after hearing that knock and then opened the door. Jessica was standing at the door and smiled at him. Mickey froze and can't move on from what he was watching.

Jessica noticed Mickey's laughing face so she decided to slap that man's face and then said, "Hi! Are your soul blown away?". Mickey finally returned to his normal state after that tingling slap. He replied while stroking his face, "What are you doing? Are you hurting me?" Jessica smiled and then answered, "Your soul had blown away so I slap your face. What's there? You seemed acting blank while opening the door."

Mickey had been feeling excited by that anime so he described, "I am watching those two boys having fun." Jessica's eyes widened, she didn't understand what this man was saying. In her mind, Harvey and that Zion had fun, or whatever it means. Jessica already knew Zion before, after seeing him on the ground floor finding Harvey.

So, she asked to clear her mind, "Ummm... What do you mean?" Mickey blinked his eyes and then talked, "Forget it. I will be ashamed if I said that to you. Oh, what's the matter? Why you are here?" Jessica decided to let go of that topic and then quickly went to her real matters, "Are you all busy this weekend? My sisters will be married this Saturday. I will invite you all. I hope you can consider my invitation."

Ignorant Mickey asked, "What do you mean?". Mickey didn't know what a wedding was since, in the netherworld, that wedding was a ritual so it wasn't that joyful celebration. Jessica replied happily, "My two sisters will be married on Saturday. You can come and eat." Mickey's ears moved after hearing that 'eat'. He wanted to eat so he agreed, "Yeah. Is their food delicious? I will come if there is. I will also bring that narcissistic Harvey to that event." Mickey's smile was that very wide after he agreed to Jessica's invitation. So, Jessica gladly answered, "There is a buffet so you can eat whatever you want." Mickey was feeling excited so he asked for the date, "What day is today? Friday?" Jessica laughed and then reminded him, "Don't be too excited. It is still Monday so you will wait six days." Mickey laughed loudly.

Jessica had other important matters to attend to so she just suggested, "Don't be late and wear your best suit. If you are late, you can't  eat that buffet." Then, she waved her hands and then walked downstairs.
