Chapter 42: CHAPTER 42: The Rhubarb Between The Dark Realm and The Netherworld

The manor house became abandoned and the high stade was kept secret and isolated. Those men in black inside weren't heedful about the top. Nobody dared to visit after that circling news that the top was cursed and whoever stepped on it will turn to dust.

The road going to the dark realm was dark and the bridge connecting it was decorated with human heads. Netherworld villagers can only have sight of it and nobody ever stepped their foot. The roses that were blooming before were withered and died. No flowers can be grown so the owner of that little house decided to find black flowers, to grow. Those pine trees that were leafy left dried brushwoods. The sun wasn't scorching but the land died. Every door were shut and few villagers can dare to walk around.

"Who put this human head at the front of my door?", one of the villagers asked angrily after seeing that box of a human head.

Nobody heard him complaining since all doors were closed so he decided to report it to the manor house. The door was large and wide, he knocked on it with a big wood to be heard. When it opened, he bowed his head and then prostrated in front of the man in black.

"Stand up. What brings you here?", the man in black asked dominantly. The stout villager slowly stood up and tidied his knees then reported worriedly, "Honorable, someone puts a human head at my door. I am worried about it what if bad will going to happen."

The man in black crossed his arms and then replied coldly, "Bring here that human head. We want to check it."

"Honorable, I will bring you here hurriedly. May I walk now?", the villager asked for permission.

"Go, and bring that here."

The villager rushed away hurriedly and brought that human head to the manor. It was inside a box and cannot be easily perceived by those few passersby. When suddenly, the north road going to the manor house turned foggy. The bridge wasn't visible and a few people in the street ran rushing to their houses. The villager who brought that human head quickly turned back and ran. He threw that box of heads in the road.

At the bridge, people were coming and those were wearing black. Nobody wanted to meet them since they were not afraid to kill even those innocent children. The dark realm came again bringing those demonic people and throwing human heads on each of the houses. The stout villager peered at his window and saw the black-clad people along the road. Their faces were as pale as snow and had no sense of life.

"The dark realm attacks again.", one of the men in black in the manor reported.

"Close the door and don't dare to open it.", the higher demanded.

At the high stade, Ivan sensed danger below so he lifted Zion going to the hole. Little Zion asked, "Brown-clad keeper, I am still playing." Ivan patted Zion's shoulder and then reminded them, "We can't play forever. The dark realm attack again, we must hide in your room."

"Where is that dark realm?", Zion asked willingly and continued, "I want to kill them." Ivan smiled and replied, "You, child. You are very boastful." Then, they went into the hole leaving the state isolated.

The dark realm people knocked on each door in the little houses. Who open will be killed and those who resist will be forcefully pulled out. The netherworld villagers trembled while hiding in their corners. Nobody dared to open the door.

"Kill each of them and don't leave anything alive.", a loud voice from outside demanded his subordinates. The villagers heard it so they stuck themselves. One of the houses was left wide open and the owner just arrived. He was unaware but when he saw those dark realm people, he rushed inside. The door closed violently and the dark people heard its echo. So, one of the subordinates languidly checked the door and knocked on it calmly. However, nobody opened it so he kicked it strenuously. The door was broken and the man inside was crouching before the door. He was trembling while slowly facing the dark realm subordinate. His sweat dripped violently to his neck when that subordinate didn't hesitate to cut that man's head. The blood gushed and that man shivered to death. After the villager became stiff, the subordinate
dragged him outside in the center of the street. His head was thrown above and dangled on one of the pine trees.

"Show them the body.", the higher demanded the subordinate. Every subordinate knocked on the door violently and if they don't open, the only way is kicking.

The black hole where Ivan and little Zion were bound outside the manor house. Ivan was stunned when he perceived the bloody street. They were in the middle and those dark realm people were there standing at each door. Zion who was still ignorant tried to run towards the dark realm people. Ivan noticed it and he flexed his hand to grab Little Zion. When suddenly, behind them, one of the dark realm subordinates brought a sword and then stabbed Ivan. Zion witnessed it and so, he gripped that subordinate's leg and bite it. Ivan screamed, "Zion, hide inside the house." then he raised his anklet and then he turned into dust leaving scared Zion.

"You, child. You are the one we are searching for. Come with us.", the subordinate pulled Zion into the air.

Little Zion smiled and then said simply, "Why? Do you want to eat me? My blood is poisonous."

The higher subordinate was approaching with arms at the back and then replied, "Do you have the strength to fight us?"

"I have. Mama gives me power.", Little Zion replied severely.

As of a sudden, those villagers went outside and screamed, "Don't kill him. If you let him die, the netherworld will
haunt you and suppress the dark realm."

Zion was put down so he had the chance to run away but the higher subordinate immediately gripped his arms.

"Where are you going?"

"I will hide so that you can't find me.", Zion said childishly.

The higher subordinate frowned and demanded his fellows, "Throw him to the monsters' lair. I want him to die there."

The villagers heard it so they fell silent and stepped back to their houses. When they reached their threshold, blood was scattered into the pavement. The body of the villagers was cut into hundred times leaving bits of flesh. Zion was scared and so he hid behind the dark realm people.

"Bring him now to the monsters' lair"

One of the subordinates lifted Little Zion and drew a circle. It was formed into a black hole and they entered it.

Little Zion punched the back of the dark realm subordinate which irritated the man. He threw Little Zion onto the barren land and rolled to the steep where hundreds of monsters were stranded there. The subordinate watched him with sympathy and later left him. Zion fell into the cylinder-like monster's lair. The monsters were gathered where Zion was and drooled. They wanted to eat Zion and taste that little child's blood.

The flying monster landed on the ground and smell Zion but, abruptly, it threw him into the steep wall. The other ghouls were slowly approaching Zion and opened their mouths. Little Zion cried and coiled his body into the corner. In that instant, those monsters moved far from him and didn't dare to come nearer. Zion's blood was suffocating those monsters and killing those low-level ghouls. The monsters turned intimidated and every time Zion played at the center, they will bow their heads to the ground.

Fifteen years after, Zion was freed from the monsters' lair when Ivan came back to life after being dead.

"Zion, let's go above", Ivan beckoned him happily. But, he was surprised when the man rolled his eyes.

"Why? Are you mad at me?"

"Bring me there and don't call me that name anymore.", Zion demanded.

Brown-clad keeper lowered his head and then slowly replied, "Yes. Kahuna. I will follow your rules from now on."

Zion was now a grown man. After he had stayed in the monsters' lair for a long time, he became selfless and despotic. His handsome face revealed a sense of authority. So, Ivan just fell silent while drawing a circle into the thin air.
