I hate it! Why does every dungeon core reincarnation story protagonist have to be so soft!? Humans(and other races) attack them with the intention to use them as infinite recourse providers, and what do they do? They defeat them, and instead of killing them, they release them even though killing them would give them tons of benefits. No wonder these protagonists complain about not being strong enough. If I was reincarnated as a dungeon core, I would have done much better…
Then, the most cliché situation happened to me. I was crossing the road and I didn’t hear or see a truck going at me with full speed, which led to me dying(this, kids, is why you shouldn’t look at your phone while crossing the road). The end.
Of course, the legendary machine of reincarnation truck-kun can’t just kill someone, so I reincarnated as a dungeon core.

Are you telling me that magic, other worlds and everything is real? That is unexpected…and great. It’s bad that I died, but there was no one who I really cared about on earth, because my parents died in a car accident and I never really had friends. So, let’s start upgrading the dungeon and prove that I was right about being able to do better than the soft protagonists! But first, I need to do a few basic things like choosing a name and getting useful skills. I am a death type dungeon, so my name should be related to it. I think that I could use the names ’Mrithun’ or ‘Morrigan’.
Mrithun is an Indian name meaning lord of death that I stumbled upon, while being on the internet and Morrigan is the name of the Goddess of death in Celtic mythology. Morrigan also means bringer of death.
I was very hesitant on which one to pick, because in worlds with magic it is very common that if you have a special name, you can get bonuses from it, at least it worked this way in books. For example, when reading fantasy, I often found strong priests and paladins having names like ‘Lux’ or ‘Miles Dei’. Lux means light and miles dei means soldier of god or knight of god. Rangers that where called ‘Ventus’, swordsmen called ‘Acrimon’ and assassins named ‘Umbra’. After all, they didn’t invent the saying « The name of a ship determines the direction it will sail to » without a reason.
In Latin, ‘Ventus’ means wind, ‘Acrimonia’ means sharpness and Umbra means shadow.
With that in mind, I decided to not make rash decisions and left that for now. Then, I made a list of the skills a new death dungeon core could easily get and classified them into types.
