Chapter 2: The Braichine

The fact that I had different types of mana inside made me think about what will happen if I change the ratio. First, I tried increasing the amount of the death element. To do this, the easiest way would be to not let any death magic particles go out of me. But when I tried doing this, even though the death particles stopped exiting, they also stopped entering me. I felt that I could make the particles enter me, but that would require practice and experience that I didn’t have. So, instead of the death particles not leaving me, I tried making them stay inside of me longer. And the method was actually very easy. Right now, the colourless bits entered me, went straight through me and then exited me on the opposite side. My plan was to make follow a long path that goes right, left, up, down. It is possible to compare it with the small intestine being like a maze instead of a straight line. The first thing I need is to learn how to create a mana shield. And to do that, I need mana control.

I tried moving the mana inside me by thinking about it and immediately succeeded. I guess being a sentient mana crystal has its benefits. Then, I tried moving mana outside of me, but wasn’t able to do that. Yeah, if it was possible to use the mana that isn’t yours, you could use magic almost infinitely. Maybe, I can control my mana even when it is outside? I made some the mana inside me go out and tried moving it. Even though it wasn’t as easy as moving the mana inside me, I was able to do it, probably once mana enters me, it gets identified as my mana. Then, I tried forming the mana into something resembling a butterfly net without holes and without a stick. I tried using this…thing, to get some mana from my right and move it to my left. After that worked, I moved on to my next experiment. I turned the thing into mana bits that I dispersed around me and then released even more mana into my surroundings. Having done that, I suddenly moved all of the mana bits under my control in one direction. And do you know what happens when you stand in a crowd and everyone decides to move in one direction? You have no choice except going in the same direction, believe me, I know. Here, the same situation occurred. All of my mana bits made the other mana bits move like a tidal wave and the place they were before, now had only a very small amount of magic particles.

What I observed next, gave me an even more important piece of information. The particles around the place without mana particles rushed into that place until it had as much mana bits as the places around it. It is very similar to what would happen in a low pressure area in the ocean depths if low pressure areas existed in the depths of the ocean. I am pretty sure magic can make such a thing, after all, since when did magic care about science? Ahhh, why am I getting only more and more questions to answer and targets to accomplish instead of getting rid of them? I found out that mana particles can move mana particles and that the density of mana particles always stays the same if not affected by something, because mana particles rush into low density mana areas. But now, I want to know if I can use that to increase my mana regeneration by creating a low density are around me or use that as an attack method by creating a low mana density area around someone and a high mana density area around the low mana density area with a mana shield preventing the mana to go inside of the low mana density area in order for the one I am targeting to get crushed by the sudden wave of mana particles once I cancel the mana shield separating them. Ok, I can do the low density area tests later, let’s not forget that I am doing all of that to increase the ratio of death mana particles to other mana element particles inside me.

 

Author note: In simpler words, the way the attack method works is making a lot of mana particles move towards someone at the same time in order to crush him/her/it.

What the main character thinks is the way the mana particles and their elements work is: 1) Mana normally is neutral, but the elements can have different ratios/percentages. 2) You can sense the ratio of elements inside the neutral mana, but not separate the different elements inside the neutral element. These are theories, they can be proven wrong later on.

In order to create a mana shield, I have to create a layer of completely still dense mana. If the mana isn’t still, there will be gaps and the shield won’t be stable, so the shield won’t be hard and things will be able to go trough it. My plan was to make a spherical mana shield inside of me just one or two millimetres under the surface with a hole for the mana to enter further inside. Then, I will create a path going around all the insides of the spherical shield that all the entering mana bits will follow. Then, once the bits have passed all that path, there will be another spherical shield with a hole and a path going along all of its insides. That process repeats until the particles reach the centre of me where there is a path with smaller paths on the sides going outside. The smaller paths will be there for the mana that already is pure death element to go to the very beginning and speed up the transformation of neutral mana into pure death element mana by adding itself to it.

It took me at least 4 hours to create the design I had imagined, but it was worth it. It looked amazing, it looked glorious and it looked…like a brain? You know, brains are normally shown like these pink tubes going in and out of a blob of tubes going in and out. My insides now looked the same, but much bigger and weirder. While sculpting my insides, I have closed the hole in the first shield, so the mana didn’t flow into me and didn’t disturb me while creating my mana to death mana transformation braichine. Get it, brain and machine give braichine? What am I actually thinking about? I shouldn’t be wasting time. But I guess after working for several hours on such a hard task like creating a braichine from scratch, anyone would be a little bit distracted. It is already impressive that I was able to create the braichine in the first place considering that all of the paths and openings had to be remembered and if I forgot about something, it disappeared. It is impressive that I can do that with only the two intellect points that I have. Anyway, let’s open that hole and see what happens.

Overkill, that is all I can say. Once the mana entered me, it took 6 hours for the mana to reach the exit. But what truly makes it an Overkill is that it took only 1 hour to convert mana into pure death mana. Then, once the little paths on the sides of the exit kicked in, that time reduced to only 5 minutes. Yeah, maybe I should make the machine easier? After all, it takes some processing power and memory not to forget all of the paths, walls and other stuff included in the Braichine. Nah, it took so long to do it, I will leave it for when I will expand and increase the mana inflow. It will surely be useful later on. Then, I got the result of my wonder, amazing, genius and…and brainy Braichine.

I knew that something will happen, but didn’t think it will do something that useful. But I would like to know how much it increases.

if the user thinks about any characteristic or other thing in the system for longer than 5 seconds, the user will receive more details concerning the thing the user thought about.

Ugh, why didn’t you tell me that earlier? I guess the system is somehow programmed to give information if the user asks certain things. So, let’s see the descriptions and check my Status again.
