Rain sitting in his one room apartment is contemplating over whether he made the right purchase or not. Sitting in his bed is a ring like object about the size of his head. This was the most expensive thing he purchased after running away from his home one year ago. He purchased this headgear because of its reasonable price and staying alone and workplace bullying was too much to handle lately.

Rain sighs and puts the gear over his head and lies in his bed. As he slowly drifts to slumber the device turns on and shows him a white space. Gears could be used during sleep and they wouldn't affect sleep so it was a good way to rest and have fun. As he checks his surrounding his eyes lands on a floating rectangle which has a name 'Death simulator' on it. He has a bad feeling as he approaches it and his feeling came true. It was the only game there and the gear he thought he got for a bargain was in fact a special gear with devices to recreate the feeling of death and could not download any other games.

He wakes up and contacts the store that sold him the headgear only to find out about their no return policy. He feels like he had been cheated as he doesn't only have to feel pain during playing but also has to feel the pain of death if he ever dies. For someone who hated pain the most this was a torture in itself. But he also couldn't think of not using it as it was too expensive. He enters the game while cursing the store that sold it to him and this time finally presses the icon.

'Death simulator' didn't just throw players to a world where they were all same in the start. As a matter of fact it threw them at a body of a existing person and that person stats would become your stats. Many times even inheriting their names, fortune and memory. So, Rain was hopeful at first to become a rich second generation and selling his fortune as the game had money exchange services. But all hope was lost as he saw a dark alleyway around and his tattered clothes. He thought of killing himself and restarting but remembered of the karma points which would determine who you spawned as. Karma points was set so people wouldn't do what he was thinking. Early deaths resulted in low karma and low karma resulted in shitty spawns but his spawn was already shitty. While thinking so a screen flashes before him.
