Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Kidō

After going to his room Ichigo trained for another hour and more while doing a headstand though the majority of the time was spent on him trying hard to maintain his balance rather than him being able to sense his spiritual pressure, the good thing about this method was that he could clearly sense how efficient it was compared to the earlier one. Another benefit of this method was that he was simultaneously training himself physically while doing it. It was hitting two targets at the same time.

Ichigo finally got exhausted a bit and decided to take an evening nap. After waking up he ate dinner with his family and got back to training. Smartphones were still not made at this point in this world and the internet was not yet popularized and made available to all as a result he didn't have anything much to do except for watching the television or training currently. Flip-flop phones were available but his family couldn't afford them at his point.

Ichigo had long grown bored of the television in his previous life and now since he had nothing better to do than train or watch the television he chose to do the former. The next few hours Ichigo exhausted his body while sensing his spiritual pressure. He didn't know whether his progress was fast or not but he noticed that now while doing it his exhaustion was more related to his physical exertion rather than his mental one.

His body was focusing more on the physical exertion making the mental exertion he felt seem negligible and hence he was able to push himself more. Though this too had a limit as he soon got exhausted and went to sleep.

A week slowly passed by.

During these days nothing much happened in the school. His interactions with Tatsuki had been minimum. It seemed like she was taking her time with her decision but Ichigo didn't mind it at all. Orihime was still recovering from her wounds as unlike Ichigo her recovery rate was that of a normal human being. He went to visit her two to three times during these days to which she was very glad. The last time he went to her place was yesterday and she seemed to be almost recovered.

Tatsuki also got to know about Ichigo's visit from Orihime when she went to visit her and seeing how she expressed her happy emotions when she talked about him made her thoughts even more complicated. Orihime had sensed something about Tatsuki that was different from her usual self these days but she didn't voice her thoughts. She was waiting for Tatsuki to share her thoughts herself when she felt comfortable.

Youruihi came in unannounced almost every day to check up on Ichigo's progress in his training. She was impressed beyond belief by it. He was now currently able to sense his spiritual pressure in his half-focused state for about two hours or so. She thought that it would take him a month or so to do this but he had done it in only a week. Even though she was clearly impressed by it she didn't tell him about it in the end but instead gave him critics that would help him become even more faster.

Two more days passed by and Youruichi finally thought that Ichigo was ready to start learning Kido.

"Alright kid, let's start with your Kido training..." Youruichi says and began to explain to him about Kido

"The Kido spells are divided into three main categories: Bakudo, Hado and Kaido. Each of these categories has its own specialization and people spend decades of their life in it in order to learn them thoroughly so you can guess from this information how difficult and vast this field is...If you want to learn it all in a proper way decades is what it's going to take you. Lucky for you, you have me as your trainer. I would be only lying if I said that I knew all of the spells but I know most of the ones that I found useful during my active days and that is what I'm going to teach you."

Yoruichi said as she raised her she licked her front leg to get the hairs on it in order before continuing "Since you're quite proficient now at being able to sense your spiritual pressure now you'll need to direct it into a specific direction and mould it into what you want out of the spell, for that you need to have a specific image in mind and the words of the spell need to match with that image then only the spell would be successful. Worry not though, as I'll be demonstrating it to you first in order to make the image part clear to you."

Youruichi slowly raised her paw and brought it in front of her face as she recited the spell "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south! Hado #31 Shakkaho!" and pointed her paw towards a tree in front of her.

The small red sphere of heat that was forming on her paw launched itself towards the tree trunk and made a gaping hole in it which was five centimetres wide. Ichigo was clearly familiar with this spell as he had seen it being used a lot by the soul reapers in the anime. Realizing that he soon would be able to cast this spell just like them in the future he couldn't help but feel his blood rushing towards his heart in excitement.

Before was soon forced out of his daze as he hear Youruichi's following words "Hado #31 Shakkaho!" another beam of red light launched itself towards the innocent tree trunk and created one more hole just above the previous one. Seeing that Ichigo had clearly seen her demonstration Youruichi said.

"That's how you perform a Hado spell. The incantation I used is a basic one which was found out by trials and error to be the most efficient one for beginners though with time it is recommended to change it into what words you feel more comfortable with and can relate it with the spell. This would not only make the spell faster but it will also make it much stronger. While using the incantation direct your spiritual pressure towards your hand and imagine a sphere of red plasma forming. Just when you're finishing the incantation think of shooting it towards a target to which your palm would be pointing now. That's how it is."

"Ready to give it a try?" Youruichi asked with a smirk as she saw the excitement clearly written on Ichigo's face.
