Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Regret

Ichigo after dealing with the thugs walked back towards his home without bothering about the bulky man who had still not recovered from the pain of getting his shoulder dislocated.

After Ichigo's figure became distant from the scene, a man in wooden sandals appeared. "He's quite heavy-handed." He said as he gazed at the disappearing back of Ichigo.

Ichigo as if sensing something turned back only to find an empty road. Finding nothing unusual he turned around and started walking.

"So he could sense my minuscule spiritual pressure from this distance aswell. His spiritual pressure has grown quite a lot...at this rate, he'll end up attracting hollows. The constant leakage of spiritual pressure from his body will only increase with time." Urahara said.

"Don't you think we should help him control his powers?" A cat beside him said.

"Why don't you observe him and decide on that matter?" Urahara said as he walked back to his shop.

Ichigo unaware of the two people who were discussing him soon reached home and went straight to his room. Yuzu and Karin were not there at home whereas his father was tending to a patient. Entering his room Ichigo placed his bag beside his bed and dived onto his bed. He had been thinking about some things.

He didn't want to become a soul reaper and get acquainted with all the troubles that it brought but one thing was already set in stone. His spiritual pressure was high and as a result of it, people close to him will also start developing some powers. Just like how Orihime and Chad did.

This would make them a target for hollows. What's worse was that he was worried about them but the person whom he should be worried about the most should be himself. With his juicy Spiritual Pressure hollows, he would be like a feast for the hollows. With these thoughts in his mind, Ichigo's eyes slowly started becoming heavy as sleep took over him.

Ichigo has been thinking of ways to avoid becoming a soul reaper in order to not make things difficult for himself but in that, but he forgot that he was also part of Aizen's plans. He wanted to see him grow, get stronger and finally absorb him if he manages to become as strong as himself.

It could have been a stupid decision from his side to not become a Shinigami with the help of Rukia and it most probably is because as a weak person he won't be able to protect anyone, not even himself. Ichigo had just closed his eyes when he was woken up by a sudden quaking in his house which was followed by the sound of something breaking.

Ichigo who was still in a muddled state got his head cleared the moment he heard the screech of a hollow. 'Wasn't the previous one taken care of? So why was he being attacked again?' were the thoughts going through his mind but what he didn't know was that there would be no end to them unless he gained his powers.

He was a mere experiment for Aizen and he wanted his experiment to progress and not lie dormant so he would make sure to keep sending them again and again to activate Ichigo's potential. There was never a way Ichigo could escape from this fate. Thinking that he could, was only like closing his eyes in front of a Tsunami hoping for it to not crush him.

Ichigo was soon up on his feet and ran downwards. He saw his father lying unconscious beside the patient he was treating. Seeing that he was alright he took a sigh of relief but another ear-deafening screech came from right beside him as he saw the face of a hollow only five inches away from him.

His body unconsciously reacted and he used his arms to block the mask-like face that was about to chop his head off only to be thrown back like a broken kite slamming hard on the wall as he coughed out blood. Ichigo grimaced in pain as he had definitely broken a few of his ribs in this encounter.

It was only now he realized how powerless he was in front of danger. He soon started regretting his decision of not letting things go as planned because he could at least have the power to save himself. Now after being devoured by this beast his father would also be targeted. Fortunately, his sisters had still not returned from school otherwise they would also be killed like how he was gonna be.

These were the last thoughts in Ichigo's mind as he saw the Hollow about to attack him again. He tried standing up but had no strength to. Ichigo didn't notice but he was bleeding profusely from the back of his head. This was why he was unable to stand up. Seeing the approaching figure of a hollow Ichigo could only sigh in regret. 

'At least it's a better way to die than being poisoned by your wife...' he thought to himself as he didn't close his eyes in front of death. It's not like this was his first time dying anyway. Just when he had accepted his fate he saw a black figure rush from the side and kick the hollow lightly which smashed it into the wall. Before the hollow could recover a claw with a very minuscule trace of lightning in it slashed towards it and divided it into two halves.

Ichigo was surprised as he was not at all expecting this to happen.

'Is the divine plot armour in my favour?' Ichigo thought to himself (A/N: Yes sir, it is.)

The Hollow slowly dispersed into its surrounding while screeching. After its figure completely disappeared the cat finally focused its attention on Ichigo. Ichigo saw the black cat's head slowly turn towards him and its golden brown eyes staring deep into his eyes. The pressure in the surroundings increased as Ichigo unconsciously stopped breathing while Yoruichi's cat figure slowly approached him.
