Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Reasoning

Ichigo also met Tatsuki's surprised eyes with his without any hesitation. Since the deed has already been done showing uncertainty here would only make him a coward. He enjoyed the supple sensation of her lips but didn't forget to take note of her facial expression. The moment he saw that she had gotten over the initial surprise and was about to resist he gently removed his lips from hers.

Tatsuki who was about to push Ichigo off her was surprised by this and couldn't help but subconsciously feel like wanting it to last a bit longer. This result would not have happened if Ichigo had let her push himself away from her. It only did because he was successful in taking action before her. This move gave Ichigo the advantage to speak first while Tatsuki was still in her thoughts.

"I know I shouldn't have done that...but I just wanted to let you know how serious I was and this is not a joke. I like you Tatsuki." Ichigo said as his gaze penetrated deep into Tatsuki's eyes.

"I-I...." Tatsuki who had by now recovered from her earlier thoughts was unsure about what to say. Ichigo could tell that she was not in a state to make a decision now so he helped her by placing his index finger on her lips while saying "You don't need to answer me now, my feelings for you won't change even if you take your time to decide on this matter thoroughly Tatsuki."

Tatsuki who was about to let her thoughts out stopped feeling that it would be much better to talk about this after she had calmed herself down. Seeing the silent agreement in her eyes Ichigo removed his index finger from her lips which were still moist. "Have you eaten yet?" Ichigo asked Tatsuki even after knowing that she hadn't.

Tatsuki shook her head and just when she did that she saw Ichigo sitting down on the ground and placing his tiffin on the ground as he opened it up. "What you're waiting up for then? Let's dig in." Seeing the bright face of Ichigo who was inviting her made Tatsuki again remember his words followed by the kiss they shared. Her face again turned a bit redder as she slowly sat down while avoiding Ichigo's eyes.

She initially felt a bit awkward but Ichigo skillfully managed to remove that awkwardness away from her as they started eating the meal. Looking back on her past, Tatsuki realised that this has been the first time that she and Ichigo ate from the same lunch box. She couldn't help but truly start believing that Ichigo truly meant those words that he had said earlier.

The lunch break soon got over and both of them went back to the class. The hustle and bustle soon stopped as the teachers entered the classrooms. It was the same for Ichigo's class which made Tatsuki take a sigh of relief as she could finally be by herself and think over what had happened between her and Ichigo on the rooftop.

Ichigo was also doing the same. It was true that he liked Tatsuki. He also felt that she also deserved to be with Ichigo while he was watching the anime though it was a pity that this didn't become true because the writer wanted to make things monogamous. He initially planned to take things slowly but seeing Tatsuki checking on him so much he worried that she might start digging into what was wrong with him due to his sudden change in behaviour.

To keep her from doing this he decided to jolt her mind by confessing his love to her. This would give her a reason that he's only acting weirdly because of his feelings towards her or just blame it on herself for observing him too much because of what happened between them. Though this carried the risk of rejection he felt that this was the best way of getting through the situation.

If Tatsuki ends up rejecting him, he'll still try for a bit to check whether she truly means it or not. If she does that he'll naturally not force it on her. There is no dearth of beautiful women in the bleach universe anyway. With that in mind, Ichigo focused his attention back on the class so that the teacher won't find faults with him.

The classes soon got over as Ichigo readied himself to go back home. He noticed that Tatsuki was quite uncomfortable speaking with Orihime now. Tatsuki knows that Orihime likes Ichigo but now that he told her that he liked her instead, Tatsuki was now in a weird position. She would have immediately rejected Ichigo at the moment he shared his feelings with her but now that she was given more time to think about it. She was getting more and more confused. 

Ichigo realized the problem she had but he wasn't dumb enough to go to her and say 'Don't worry about it because I like Orihime as well.' That would spoil all his efforts. He slowly stood up from his seat and went out of the class not forgetting to wish Chad and others goodbye while nodding at Orihime and Tatsuki as their eyes met.

On the way back home Ichigo didn't expect to meet with a bunch of thugs. "Hey Big brother, it's that orange head! He was the one who beat us." Two punks shouted while pointing their fingers. Noticing the folks that were pointing fingers at him Ichigo had an amused expression. 

"Hey kid, I don't like to bully kids but since you've attacked my men, I'll be returning the favour. Don't worry I will make sure not to kill you." A six-foot tall muscular thug with a scar on his face said while staring daggers at Ichigo.

"You're welcome to try," Ichigo said as waited for the man to attack him. Seeing the obvious disdain in Ichigo's eyes the man got triggered and rushed to punch Ichigo's head.

A move like this was something Ichigo had been quite used to by now because of his short but experience-filled career as a part of a famous thief gang. Unfortunately, he wasn't taught to show mercy as a result the man was soon lying on the ground with a dislocated shoulder grimacing in pain. The other two thugs quickly scurried away seeing their boss like this.
