'How unpleasant... I feel so cold. Cold?'

An unusually small baby opens its black, coal colored eyes and looks into the world with confusion. There's an intelligent look to her eyes, too intelligent for a gaze for a newborn baby.

A man with frazzled hair glared at the baby but nodded his head. "I'll take this one."

'What?' The baby was slowly beginning to connect the dots as the man and another continued to talk. 'Scientist? Black eyes?' Amidst her internal thoughts she notice the man stopped talking.

"Drop her off at the Hollow Pass. We'll take it from there." Without another word he leaves.

After she was cleand then wrapped up in a course fabric she was left alone with her thoughts. 'Ok so I definitely have a baby's body, but how?' Trying to move was tiresome and lifting her head was near impossible. Sleepiness set in like an unforgiving tide. 'Curse this fragile baby body...' and just like that she fell asleep.

Coming to, she was in a poorly made carriage. It was bumpy and the squeaking was distracting. The girl holding her had a dead look in her eyes and was staring into space. 'I don't have time to think about that.' She could only see the sky outside the window but nothing else.

'Now, I'm happy to have another body even if it's a human. However, it doesn't mean I'm happy about having all my abilities, strength and everything else scrapped. If I don't recall... most humans awaken when there ten right?'

Eventually the carriage came to a stop. She was handed to a clocked man that placed a black, but breathable cloth over her head. Once again sleepiness started to take over her mind.

Once again, she'd woken up from her baby slumber. She was in a relatively baren, light gray room with several men in long white trench coats. They were talking with each other and one was holding a srenge with a merky liquid in it.

     "No, it's not safe!"

"When did you start worrying about safety?"

"We don't know what's going to happen, we should have just gotten someone older."

"Well that's why we have her- to find out what will happen."

She's got a good idea of what's happening... and she doesn't like it. She was just given a new body. What if she dies again?  She was lucky the first time dut isn't willing to bet on that luck again.

As the Scientist took the srenge and stook the needle into the baby's neck, but then she had an idea. Whatever the liquid was it had some magical properties and she still had her memories and knowledge of mind  sceals.... but it was risky. She would be able to disconnect part of her mind from her body and deal with problems as they come, but it could last from a few days to fifty years.

Her mind would be incomplete and it'll be a complete wild of when she'll wake but she doesn't have any more time to think as the fluid rushes through her body. She chooses to take the risk and uses it to seal her part of her mind.

It sounded like a snap. She lost her vision and felt an odd, numb tearing sensation in her body. 'I swear I won't fail, not this time never again.'
