Surprisingly it was a perfectly clear night yet only 6 hours ago it was still raining heavily. Hiyori was watching the cloudless sky, the bright, full moon parading through it, in its full glory as they neared his old school.
“Beaver Moon… heh… what a funny name.” said, while Everlong also chuckled.
“It is also called Frost Moon or Freezing Moon, heralding the coming winter. But as what we call it is inconsequential! What matters is the fact that Sheby can perform the ritual perfectly or not!”
“What kind of ritual is it going to be anyway?” asked while she was surprisingly calm in the face of what was this night’s meaning to her. In the past weeks, leading up to this day she felt like she was human once again and not a hollow creature, going through the daily motions of life simply by habit. Whatever the outcome is going to be, all of it was already worth it!
“Do you believe in time traveling?” raised his eyebrows with a grin as they pulled up into the parking lot before the school as the clock on the dashboard just turned to midnight.
“No way! You're just messing with me now!” scoffed, crossing her arms, pouting.
“Ahaha, yeah, I am. But it is similar!” said, unbuckling himself as they got out from the car, stretching “We are going on a trip, you’ll see~”
“Okay, then don’t tell me! Keep your secrets, you grumpy old man!” rolled her eyes, following Everlong with a pursed lip.
To her surprise, entering through the school’s gate, she saw Sheby standing there, wearing a puffy, green hoodie, her hands tucked into its pockets, breathing out white smoke through her mouth.
“Damn, you took your sweet time! It is freezing out here!” scolded them, stomping on the ground with her hoofs.
“Yeah, yeah, stuff it!” waved his hand Everlong “It is still above 0 celsius! Don’t start moaning like a cow!”
“Tsk!” clicked her tongue, turning towards Hiyori then she just looked behind her “Not bad…” licked her lips and Hiyori felt true fear rushing through her and she quickly realized… it was not hers! “Let’s hurry! It finally caught on that it's in deep shit and is trying to cut its connection to the girl!” grinned Sheby as her yellow, goat-like eyes were burning in an unnatural light. She just jumped and she flew upwards like a rocket, landing on the roof with only one move.
“Woah…” blinked Hiyori, looking after her, tilting her head to the side before her mind registered what she just said. “Wait! That fucker, after a decade of torment wants to bail out?!” flared up with a scream, finding it infuriating! “Hell no! I won’t let her divorce me like that!”
“Yeah, we shouldn't!” nodded Everlong before he just walked up to the front door “Come!”
“Let’s hurry!” rushed after him “But how are we going in? It must be locked!”
“It is, but I also stole some keys!” pulled them out from his pocket, dangling it a little, easily finding the correct one and opening the door for her.
“Nice!” smiled Hiyori, already used to it in a way but before going in she stopped once again. “Cameras? Sensors? Guards? Nowadays they are everywhere!”
“Nah, useless!” waved his hand, pushing her in, going straight towards the staircase, leading towards the roof “With Sheby here, her presence alone fries most modern electronics! What they would see is static and all of their movement sensors are probably off by now! The guards should also be out cold and going to wake up with a headache!”

“Double nice! Then we can do what we want, huh?” laughed, taking the steps by two, clearly in a much better mood and shape than before, where she had to stop almost every turn. Arriving at the roof, she was surprised by the giant pentagram before her, which was drawn up on the floor. “Is it made from blood?” asked, twitching the edge of her left eye as it was still fresh and crimson colored.
“Yeah, goat blood.” nodded Sheby, going around it, lighting up black candles at the focal points.
“Yours?” asked Hyiroi as Everlong also arrived, closing the door behind them.
“Fuck you.” answered Sheby, placing a mortar in the middle and putting the finger, they got from the corpse, in it. Suddenly the wind picked up, with an unnatural coldness but it was unable to extinguish the black candles. Their orange flame was slowly turning green as they burnt on, one by one, going clockwise.
“I’m going in with her.” stepped up Everlong and while Hiyori looked at them curiously, Sheby’s face turned dark.
“You never mentioned it! And you only brought a finger! There is no second item to transfer two wills into it!”
“There is.” smiled, taking out a small tabloid picture of Fukui Yukari, that was once stapled to her document he stole.
“This was not in the agreement! You did not mention this at all!” roared Sheby, clearly angry, huffing loudly and her hands turned hairy and her fingers grew longer, ending in black, claw-like fingernails. Even her face changed, morphed, getting elongated, taking up the shape of a mix between a goat and a human.
“Suck it up!” replied Everlong without breaking eye contact. “Do this for me and I’ll owe you one.”
“...”
“Or you can try and fight me.” continued taking out a completely silver revolver from his coat. Its barrel was unusually long and decorated with foreign symbols and words that Hiyori did not recognize at all. She knew things turned serious but she couldn’t help but smile, watching them with great excitement. Even she did not know why, not that she would question it.
“You!” came Sheby’s voice, that was barely human anymore, her yellow eyes focusing on the gun, flinching and stepping backwards when Everlong knocked the hammer back. “FUCK. You damned traitor, I should have known this is going to happen!. FUCK, FUUUUUCK! Okay! Throw it in! Fuck you!” cursed, quickly returning into her original form as Evelrong just put his weapon away, tossing the image into the mortar.
“You just need to expend a little more energy, why the hissy fit?” smiled Everlong, holding Hiyori’s hand, leading her into the pentagramm, standing above the little mortar in the middle.
“Eating that bitch won’t even recoup me! This is a net loss, you manwhore!” shouted Sheby at him, huffing and puffing as she walked closer, only sparing a glance at Hiyori, only scoffing at her in the end.
“Look at it this way, I’ll owe you one.” said Everlong while he still held both of Hiyori’s hands, raising her arms up so the mortar fell right between their stretched out arms.
“Like that matters to you!” crouched down Sheby, taking another deep breath and spewing out a sickly looking, green flame, right into the mortar lighting up the finger and photo in it. “Fucking traitor!” said, pulling on her own hair in frustration but Hiyori could no longer hear her well.
Even her last words were washed out, same with the colors around her. Everything became blurry and turned black and white. She almost fell backwards, but Everlong held her strongly. He was saying something… but she could no longer make it out. Soon her own thoughts became sluggish, mushy, as if dreams and reality were mixing right there and then, just before everything went completely black.
