I sit in my car,

Trapped in this endless sea of steel,

The traffic moving at a crawl,

As I try to escape,

This hellish ordeal.

The cars are all around me,

A never-ending stream,

Of headlights and taillights,

Flashing in my eyes,

A nightmare in gleam.

The horns blare and beep,

As tempers start to flare,

But still, we move at a snail's pace,

Trapped in this nightmare,

With no escape in sight,

I check the time,

And see that I'm already late,

For the meeting, the dinner, the date,

But it seems that fate,

Has other plans for me,

As I sit here,

In this endless misery.

I try to distract myself,

With music, with podcasts, with books,

But nothing can break,

The monotony of this traffic snarl,

That stretches on and on,

Into the endless night.

And so I sit and wait,

With nothing but my thoughts,

To keep me company,

As I ponder the futility,

Of it all,

In this never-ending traffic jam.
