Chapter 3: [First Story] The Story of An Extermination Part 2

This is a town called Sanders. Located in Yustraly Country, the southernmost country on the Amelda Continent.

In these months, the sun is quite tilted to the north. Resulting in the lands of the southern continent being quite cold. It is characterized by the fall of soft grains, which are called snow.

With the pale white sky, cold air fluttering, white specks fell down to gently rain down on Sanders Town. Not only Sanders, surely most of the southern mainland of the Amelda Continent experienced the same thing.

The City of Sanders, which tends to always have a cold climate, snow has become something that people usually see.

The fact that this city is closest to the world's south pole is the reason behind it. But apart from that, Sanders also has two other reasons why this place is more likely to experience winter.

Firstly, far southwest to the southern tip of the Amelda Continent, there was the Frost Mountain Range which had eternal snow on it. Having a frozen ecosystem, that's where the Blue Dragon nests. Even though it was still quite a distance from Sanders City, the cold effect emanating from the Blue Dragon could reach the city.

Then, secondly, another reason is because Sanders City is the area closest to the Glassical World, or what is commonly called the Frozen Hell.

It is known that the Glassical Word is the coldest place in the world. From there, cold air came in, soaring high into the sky and spreading a frozen curse to the clouds in its path. Or so the fairy tale about the falling snow.

Of the three conditions, Sanders is known as the City of Snow who always drops white seeds from the sky. It's rare to have summer here. Even if summer comes, the temperature rise doesn't make much difference.

Only people with special endurance can enter this city. Like from certain races or those who have the ice attribute as part of their life.

Somewhere in Sanders Town, an inn stood. Having a height of about 10 meters and two floors, this inn is called The Sleeping Rabbit Inn. Located on the edge of the main road and flanked by rows of other houses, this inn is easy to find. Especially considering that the building is the tallest building among other buildings. But unlike the other elven races who had blonde hair, the girl's white hair described herself to a different race. It was the so-called Snow Fairy Race, a race that was said to be a mutation of the forest elf race, which had paler skin and white hair. Having the ice attribute in their bodies, the Snow Fairy Race was more familiar in cold areas like Sanders Town.

 

"Yawn...."

 

With a still sleepy face, the fairy girl yawned softly while covering her mouth with her right hand.

Blinking a few times before she turned her head, the fairy girl looked around curiously. Immediately, her field of vision caught the bed that was to her left. What was reflected in her eyes this time was a human woman with long black hair that was already in disarray. She looked mature and was in her mid-twenties.

Despite that, she has a poor sleep pattern. With an open stomach, a torn blanket, she herself was already in the two o'clock rotation direction. Even snoring and drool came out of her mouth.

“Ugh,... the smell of alcohol.”

Soon, the fairy girl, covered her nose with both hands as a pungent smell tickled her sense of smell.

Obviously, this smell was coming from that human woman, she must have stayed up drunk last night.

Since she was from the Snow Fairy Race, she had no problem with the chill that ran through her body.

“Kalma, it's already morning, you know. Wake up!"

The human woman was named Kalma. She used to be an orphan girl that the fairy girl found during a visit to the Mealfar Kingdom. A human kingdom located on the western edge of the Amelda Continent. Roughly with the Yustraly Country, there were about three countries and one large forest separating them.

Looking back on those times, Kalma should have been an innocent girl with a hard-working nature. But, for some reason, instead of becoming more mature, as she grew older, Kalma became a spoiled-looking girl and seemed like an unreliable woman.

“Cold,… Please close the window, Sis Lurint. Don't you know how cold it is?”

Pulling back the blanket, Kalma curled up again in her sleep.

"That's because you are now thinly dressed and a little exposed. Be aware and wear warm clothes! Then you won't be cold. Come on, wake up! Breakfast must have been prepared.”

Screaming at her slightly annoyed, she was Lurint, a Snow Fairy girl who had accompanied Kalma for 18 years.

Despite her younger appearance than Kalma, Lurint was after all a Snow Fairy Race, which had a longer lifespan than humans like most of the other elves. So now she really has reached the age of 100 years. As for Lurint's role, she used to act as a magic teacher from Kalma at her young age.

But maybe it's because they've been living together for so long. Their relationship now looks like a pair of non-identical female sisters. Because of Lurint's excessive affection for Kalma in her childhood, that may also make Kalma not have the mature character that matches her appearance.

With white ears and a short tail, Yuria is a half-human girl from the Snow Rabbit Race who lives here.
