Elijah woke up, fortunately.

Otherwise, this would be more awkward.

As his eyes sprung open, his vision remained slightly foggy.

His ears wiggled like they always do when he woke, but this time it was slightly different. It was more pronounced, the twitching, the movement, the hearing.

He shut his eyes tightly, shook the grogginess from his mind and upon opening them once again, a thrilling sight was displayed. Well technically what was displayed wasn't that awesome, but more what it represented.

A system message. In the air.

Do to his excitement, he kicked out, waved his arms stupidly (still on the floor) and exclaimed "this is the best day ever!"

Then a click brought his attention to the six people pointing their bows and crossbows at him, arrows notched.

"Make that second best day ever," he amended, somewhat less enthused.

"And what would be the first then, eh?" A gruff and tough looking man asked, holding his crossbow in one hand and the other hand at his hip.

"Tomorrow, a time I would really like to look back on and remember fondly. So could you uhh.. point those things somewhere else?" Elijah did not feel comfortable with how the man held his weapon.

"Tie him up," another gestured with his head to one of his accomplices. "He may not have much on him, but he looks like he would fetch a pretty penny at an auction. Exotic."

Elijah looked at his person, realizing that, indeed, his apparel was lacking. Completely.

Elijah didn't resist the novel experience of being tied up in his birthday suit. Someone to the right of his first acquaintance but down his bow, procured a rope from his pack, and as he stepped forth, busily untangling the hemp, Elijah asked "are you bandits?"

"Yes," he said, coming behind him.

"Neat."

The bandit gave Elijah a confused look and said "it's actually quite a messy job."

"Really?" Elijah asked, fascinated and wide eyed as the bandit fumbled with the binding.

"Killing's not a daily occurrence and all, but when it gets to that point, it's gruesome. Horrifying even," he frowned, though Elijah wasn't sure whether it was concentration or consternation.

"But," he continued, "making a living is difficult, and times are tough."

With that, he finished securing the knots and stood up.

As he walked back to his group and another came to take hold of my bindings, Elijah asked "can I get something to cover myself with?"

The man who had tied him looked at the assumedly dicision maker (who had ordered Elijah tied) with a raised eyebrow.

"Whatever, we have something at camp. Lets go."

And with that, we were off.

Elijah felt that they didn't look like they wanted to answer any more questions at the moment, so he distracted himself with his surroundings. Trees. Lots of trees. And grass. And weeds. And rocks and dirt and moss and whatever you'd expect in a forest. He was about to grow bored when a sensation brushed past his rear (sort of) as they past a couple of trees that were quite close together on the trail. He looked back to find a long appendage attached to his tail end- a tail.

It was orange, spotted with black, thin and feline, and smooth. Vitreous.

Certainly didn't have one of those, Elijah thought. His ears twitched.

Are my ears the same? He wondered.

"Yeh! Iyeh! Hahh, hah!"

"What are you doing!?" The one holding Elijah's ropes asked, looking at him acting like an idiot, crouched and trying to reach his head with both arms behind his back, hopping as if the elevation would decrease the length of his spine.

Elijah stopped his futile attempts and asked "do I have ears?"

"What?"

"I mean cat ears."

"Yeah" he answered Elijah, his expression telling Elijah exactly how smart the man thought he was.

Satisfied with this, her began checking his body for any other descrepancies.

His teeth... Showed no change. No fangs. His fingers, from what he could tell when clenched into fists, were not clawed. He looked down at his feet. Normal five toe'd and slightly aching. Legs and stomach checked. The only thing that seemed different was his hight- he'd never been that short, but currently he stood a good head above his current company. Though not all were human, and the one holding me was definitely a dwarf, they didn't seem short.

His figure, usually shaped like a fridge, was a good deal more curved and lean. An hourglass in comparison to his previously rectangle likeness.

Wonder what my friends would think of my sudden disappearance, Elijah mused.

He had a lot of friends, his entire class and more. He went to a private school, not because he was a genius but because public schools often had influences, often bad ones, so his parents believed. This was not to say he wasn't smart, as his grades were above standard in all but history. Names were difficult to remember. The people there were friendly and welcoming. It was expected for every person to be part of the group, and for any not involved enough to be pulled in.

As such, strong bonds formed with entire grades and friendships lasted with everyone.

And his parents. His parents were probably worried.

Scratch that, his parents had probably alerted half the country the following day. And how did he even get here? Questions for another time Elijah thought as they came upon the camp.

Quickly tying Elijah to a tree, they set about getting food prepared for... Dinner, he figured going by the setting sun. Seems they had just returned from either an excursion or hunting.

The dicision maker of the group came over and threw a pair of pants at my feet.

Elijah tried reaching for the brown article of clothing only to remember that he was still bound.

"Could I get some help?" He asked as the man turned his back on him.

"No."

Elijah pursed his lips and wondered what happens next. Then his eyes widened as he remembered.
