A young teen walked through a worn down street. The road itself wasn't the only thing worn, oh no. The buildings, if they could even be called that anymore, looked mere moments from collapsing. The walkway filled with the smell of rot, blood, feces and corpses. And the boy hopped along with a smile adorning his face, eyes squinted at the sun's rays, casting its blinding light twords his face.
Then a sudden tug at his tail caused his eyes to widen in Surprise, with an exclamation of "ow!" Escaping his mouth.
In a spin he brought a leg up behind him in kick, to ward off his assailant.
The kick was blocked and when he saw who it was, he let out an exasperated sigh.
"I told you to stop doing that, Cint!" Elijah exclaimed.
Cint chuckled, "what's got you in such high spirits?"
"It's morning!" Elijah exclaimed happily.
"So?"
"So!? Morning! Today's a day of opportunity! Tomorrow's a day of revolution! Morning, Y'know!"
"Shut up! you said the same thing yesterday and we're still here."
"Yeah but today's different!" Elijah countered.
"Oh yeah? How?"
Elijah let out an evil grin.
"Have you ever heard of classes?"

"I can't believe you did that" Cint said, "that's stupid!"
Elijah had discovered a hideout of a secret order from a map on a dead body. The map led into one of the dilapidated buildings of the slum, far away from prying eyes. Elijah had decided it would be a good idea to sneak towards where the map led and, lo and behold, had discovered a secret transcript for class acquirement.
"It was awesome. Now look at this," Elijah unfurled the scroll and went to Cint's side so he could see as well, his tail waving from side to side.
After reading it over, Cint exclaimed, "this'll take years to us understand! What even is all this!? Are you sure this isn't all fake?"
Elijah hadn't checked the contents of the file, and was startled to realize that he couldn't read it. He had learned how to read by stealing books and going over their contents, slowly but steadily building up his ability to decipher words over the course of five years. He knew two different languages, though, admittedly, he wasn't sure which, nor could he speak them.
"Is you went through what I did to get this you wouldn't say that so easily," Elijah folded the scroll back up and continued "we need to decipher this some place more... Private. Come."
Cint followed Elijah into his own hideout.

They found him.
It had been four years, and now Elijah was eighteen, running for his life, and having a blast.
A secret organization spending so much time to find him, how awesome is that? He felt like a superhero!
Wait, Elijah wondered, making his way through familiar streets, what's a superhero?
An answer appeared in his mind, and with it, a memory. A memory that wasn't his... Completely. Yet he felt somewhat attached to that memory for some reason.
As he paused to consider this newfound knowledge, another arrow grazed his shoulder.
He was already living in rags, if his clothing was ripped any more it would become a net!
He continued running, his innate agility somewhat aiding his escape, as he made his way to the city gate.
It's a good thing Cint wasn't dragged into this, Elijah thought. He had managed to decode the nonsense that was a mixture of code, regular words and bad handwriting, and he even explained it to Cint before he found out that he was found out.
Before long, he reached the exit of the city and barreled through the opening.
He ran into the forest, giggling like an idiot.
He needed one last thing to gain a class- to kill a monster.
He ran until he ran out of breath, and sat down by a trunk of a random tree to catch his rest, his chest rising and falling rapidly.
And as luck would have it, something grabbed his shirt and tried pulling him up. He was raised slightly before the shirt ripped and his rear hit the ground. His tail was rod straight as he rolled away from the next grab, which got a hold of his pants instead and he was pulled up upside down.
With a twist, he faced the creature. It looked like a lizard-plant thing, with Vine tentacles that was slightly bigger then him. His eyes widened as his smile grew, and a rush of adrenalin filled him. It opened its mouth filled with teeth and cloth ready to swallow him, and he punched its nose, narrowly avoiding its teeth. The monster was stunned for bit, which gave Elijah time to wiggle out of his pants and fall to the ground. It was a four meter drop, which was cushioned by a bush. Quickly looking for something sharp, he found a branch of a nearby tree which he promptly broke off and readied for the next strike.
When the vine shot twords him, he grabbed it with his right and tugged. The lizard plant thing fell and he quickly ran over to stab it. With quick aim, he nailed its eye, and with a push, twisted its head. Still it did not die, so after evading its attacks, he yanked out the branch and started whacking it until it would stop moving.
And as he brought up the stick one one last time to deal the finishing blow, he was struck as he hit. He killed the monster, but in turn was sent flying. The monster had a lot of power.
Thrown over twenty meters, he hit a tree's foliage that slowed his trip through the air. He landed on the cushioned floor of the forest and fainted.

Elijah woke up, fortunately.
Otherwise, this would be more awkward.
