"So... Are we going to meet your old friend now?" Elijah asked.
Sheridan looked at Elijah for a moment, considering whether he'd be whipped for introducing such an undisciplined man to his friend, then wiped the thought from his mind with a 'what's the worst that could happen?'
"Very well, but be warned that he's not a man for jokes."
And so they made their way to... A mansion?
It was big, was all Elijah could figure out.
Sheridan rang a bell by the gate, waiting for a guard to arrive. "Now listen, Elijah, my friend is of a very prominent family and dislikes anything improper. I strongly suggest to be on your best behavior: your usual antics will be greatly frowned upon in noble social circles. If you were to displease him, it would be a serious ache to save your furless hide, so please save me the worry and trouble." When a guard finally arrived, Sheridan turned to Elijah, ready to tell him to behave himself one last time, only to be met with the empty air. He turned in a circle, trying to locate his friend, and a dreadful wrenching feeling settled in his gut.
"Yes?" The guard asked.
Quickly composing himself and facing the man, Sheridan introduced himself, "a friend of Pont, Sheridan of house Marr."
"Marr?!" He asked in surprise, finally noticing his golden eyes. "Please, enter, I'll inform the young Lord right away!" Opening the gate and allowing Sheridan to enter, he escorted him inside the mansion toa waiting lounge. A few minutes later, a voice called.
"Sheridan, a pleasure to rekindle our bond. To what do I owe such good company?" A man dressed in form fitting attire, silver in color and embroidered in threads that moved along the cloth, creating a moving scene on his finery, spoke words of politeness and formality that were filled with true warmth and feeling. His golden hair was cut straight at his shoulders, and his brown eyes were full of mirth, even though his mouth retained its natural shape.
"Well met, friend Pont. It's great to see your esteemed self away from the paper," Sheridan replied in kind, also glad to meet his friend after such a long time. He stood from the couch, and walked over to shake hands. Although Pont's hands were firm, they were not as strong as Sheridan's.
"So, Sheridan, please have a seat and regale me with your exploits, so I may regale you in kind."
So they sat and talked, Sheridan going over his tales of having traveled north to save the daughter of a man he'd met, again yetis and hags, escaped an adult white dragon's lair, avoided an elder tempest, and fought the white knight of snow to a standstill to finally reached and bring her back. Then he had returned to Fenril, the empire of the west, and made his way to Phantol, expecting to have a relaxing time only to meet a fjynda, a lion hydra thing that has the ability to fire live snakes out of its mouth. Finally dealing with that, he was then chased by a herd of enferdin, small lupine pentapedal monsters that become a problem when in a pack, that were attracted by the noise. He had to fight them, and when he finished, was ambushed by local bandits, who had a surprising number of expert fighters in their midst. He was taken captive then rescued by a species of intelligent humanoid he had never seen before. When he got to his meeting with Elijah, he got to where they arrived at the city when Pont asked, "Sheridan, what is it that had you troubled? You seemed distracted with something since mentioning this friend of yours. Tell me, had something befallen him?"
"Well, he's... Here."

"Pardon?"
Sheridan put his face in his hands and said "I should have known this would be a terrible idea. I seem to have more lapses in judgement then I used to." He had been with the strange man long enough to know that he loved challenging authority.
"He's present, as in, in the city?"
"Present as in, in the manor."
"What?"
"I was telling him how he should behave himself, and during my forewarning he disappeared."
"Impossible. How did he get past the enchantments?"
"Enchantments?"
"A simple alarm spell. And you said he had recently gained a class?"
"But three days ago, he said."
"And you're certain he didn't just wander off?"
"Well..." Sheridan trailed off when a loud crash came from the floor above.
"Yes."
