A flock of avians fled from a particular area a few meters away from Xy and Zao, who were in search of the final Zipholet they had to eliminate to accomplish their task. It stood behind the pillaring trees that stood before them.

"Zao, you can entrust this one to me." Xy said with a smirk.

“Dude, you’ve been killing literally most of the Zipholets we’ve gone through, let me stretch my arms too, man!”

"Next time, okay? I am feeling quite confident today!"

They both sprinted through the trees and foliage, and there they beheld the stone golem, devouring its prey, which appeared to resemble a horse.

Xy aimed his large dark sword towards the monstrosity and adopted his combat stance, next to him lay a fragment of a broken tree, Zao sat on it with an annoyed facial expression, crossing his arms over one another.

“That’s a real piece of work, let me end this quickly.”

Xy shifted his foot forward and ran at a rapid pace towards the Zipholet, who emitted a loud grunt as it slammed its giant fist on the ground to strike Xy, he lunged at its arm and continued his swift advance. His sword produced a satisfying sound as he struck the Zipholet's neck with it.

The Zipholet convulsed violently and swung its entire body, causing Xy to land on the ground, it regenerated the damage he inflicted after a few seconds, which he observed.

“Hmm.”

Xy imbued his sword with a dark red fire and began running towards the Zipholet again. His speed increased, the flames reached his arms, and the Zipholet became extremely aggressive as it shot out its stone arms towards Xy, who narrowly avoided them all, leaving the trees around him damaged.

Xy leapt into the air, and struck his sword in the air with ferocious force, a beam of fire engulfed the Zipholet, incinerating it to ashes, this time, ending it for good.

“Took you long enough.” Zao said while sitting on the tree trench.

Xy safely landed on his feet and smiled at Zao.

“Come on, you can’t lie, I looked pretty cool, didn’t I?”

“I didn’t even watch, sucker.” Zao replied as he turned his back and walked away.

“Jeez, alright.”

...

After a few minutes of traversing a prolonged path surrounded by towering trees, the two began to notice a man attired in a brown suit, his face was not recognizable from the close proximity between them. However, they could feel his tremendously powerful aura rushing through their veins, causing their bodies to tremble.

"Ugh! What is this feeling?" Xy said.

The man started to walk towards them, and with each step he took the more his presence intensified.

"Who are you? Stay back before I attack!" Xy said, aiming his dark red sword towards the man, who kept on moving forward.

"You leave me no choice!"

Xy rushed at the mysterious figure and slashed his sword with great velocity on his chest.

Although the sword had not made contact with his body, the man remained motionless, as if Xy's sword had merely wafted over him like a ghost.

"What!?" Xy exclaimed in shock, as he launched a series of continuous slashes, none of which inflicted any damage upon the man.

"Xy, just fall back!" Zao shouted.

"I have come to deliver a message, Chosen Ones." The man said.

"Who... are you?" Xy asked, his sword still unsheathed and shining brightly in the moonlight.

The man smiled, his smile the only visible feature beneath his brown leather hat, which obscured most of his face.

"I am a messenger."

"A messenger? What message do you bring us?" Zao inquired.

"The world humanity inhabits, the forsaken prophecy that is. I have come to inform you both of the Eye of Numen." He responded.

"Numen's Eye..." Zao murmured, his tone softening.

Xy looked upon his sword with a melancholic expression, as the man continued.

"I am aware that the sword you hold causes you anguish and hatred."

"What do you mean..." Xy replied.

"That sword is not originally yours, am I right." He replied.

"It is not, it was originally our brother's."

"The original owner of that sword, he was someone who has searched throughout the lands of Gaius to find it, correct?" He said.

Zao grew visibly disturbed at this revelation. "Who told you that? How do you know this!" He exclaimed, as Xy attempted to calm him.

The apostle chuckled and replied, "I am but a messenger."

Xy looked back at his sword and reminisced a moment when he and his eldest brother were walking on a large vast field.

"Xy, I have something for you, I hid it right here."

"Really? What could it be!" A young Xy replied, with a big smile on his face.

His brother brushed away the plants, and they both came to see his very own sword, which was given to him by the Black Dragon's Nation leader himself, Sun Lee.

He knelt down and handed the sword to Xy.

"Xy, if I ever happen to not come back, promise me you will fight for me with my own sword."

"But brother, what do you mean? Of course you will come back! You are going to defeat them all!" Xy had replied, tears welling in his eyes.

Xy's brother smiled and stood back up.

"Keep that sword safe for me alright, never forget that you will fight for me if I never see you again."

Xy's eldest brother had left his family in search of the Eye, but never returned, and none of his loved ones had heard from him.

Xy had come to accept this after years of hope, but still believed that his brother might still be out there.

"If you seek the answer to the question that has plagued you all these years, you shall find it when you find the Eye of Numen." The messenger said.

"This is my only chance..." Xy said firmly holding his sword with his right hand.

Zao also seemed to get emotional by Xy, he knew what Xy was thinking, and he also knew that Xy would not let this chance slip by.

"It seems as if I have already gotten my answer." The mesenger said.

As both Xy and Zao looked back upwards, the messenger had disappeared. Leaving them both confused and shocked, alone on this sandy road.

"Zao, we can not let this slip by."

"This is exactly what happened to him too, do you still think he might be out there?" Zao asked.

"Of course, there is no way he would let anything get to him. He is somewhere out there, I just know it. Xy said while gazing at the moonlit sky.
