...

The enemy continued to falter as they were all being decimated by Uldok and Zao. The only thing left to kill was their commander.

"There he is, Xy. Want to step up our game a little?" Shira said as she unsheathed her gazing black sword.

Xy looked back at her and unsheathed his sword as well.

"Sure."

They both often didn't use too much energy on their foes, as it was reasonable considering their powers. Although it did happen that they faced a much more powerful enemy, it was mostly a 50/50% chance of who they might encounter.

They both ran up to the monstrous-looking commander. Its three large heads parted with its massive light purple body were truly giving a disgusting appearance, and it gave a loud growl as the two ran towards it.

The commander shot out its arms. Shira deflected the attack with her sword, and as this happened, Xy ran up the monster's head by running on the tentacle-like arm. He jumped in the air and slashed through its head with utter ease.

"That's one down." Xy said.

"You mean two down?" Shira replied.

As he turned his head around, he saw Shira in a slashing position, the monster's second head falling onto the ground behind her and a rain of purple blood gushing out of its body.

"-_-"

A few minutes passed, and the last bunch of monsters was killed off by Zao, their mission for today was complete.

"Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be." Uldok said.

"That prick ruined my coat though..." Zao said with an angered expression on his face.

The red crow appeared on the battlefield and landed on Xy's right shoulder, notifying them of their completion of the mission.

Each completed mission was always notified to both the fighters and the headquarters of the city.

It was also possible for people from other Nations to join in on missions, all Nations were accessible by each...

There have been wars in the world of Gaius, but perhaps one of the most notable ones was the war between the Treumera Nation and the Towai Nation, which resulted in many deaths and left both nations with a passive hatred towards each other. This led to the Towai Nation leader, Hugo, banning all members from assisting the Treumera Nation and wanting to completely cut off contact with them. Hugo's hatred for Gulstov, the leader of the Treumera Nation, became so intense that he demolished the Treumera capital and engaged in a fight with Gulstov, almost killing him before being stopped by the Treumera Nation's strongest fighters.

Sun Lee, leader of the Black Dragons Nation, did not approve of Hugo's actions and rejected his proposal to also cut off contact with the Treumera Nation. He threatened to wage war against the Towai Nation if Hugo continued with his plans. Despite being aware of Sun Lee's powers and the overall strength of the Black Dragons Nation, Hugo decided to stick with his original plan. It has been five years since the incident, and while it has not caused significant damage, the Shizu Nation, the Treumera Nation's neighbor, has not had any problems with them.

However, the most impactful war in the world of Gaius was the Attack on the Red Mountain, also known as the War of Eternal Fires. This occurred over 50 years ago and was caused by Sun Lee's father, Sun Jun. Before becoming the leader of the Black Dragons Nation, Sun Jun became the vessel for the Abyssal Essence, a powerful force randomly bestowed upon a human by the Six Angels of Nocturn, the guardians of Dyr. The essence allowed its vessel to transform into an Abyssal Angel with some human features remaining. It was created to allow a human to defend the world of Gaius without any issues.

The Angels, aware of Ziphot's desire to break the laws of Dyr, wanted to create something to help humanity in their battle against the Order of Hollow. As a result, they created the Abyssal Angel, Ab'ael, who would descend upon humans defending their nations against the Order of Hollow every 200 years.

However, to prevent killing his vessel with his god-like powers, Ab'ael had to conceal himself behind six shards. A human seeking to release Ab'ael's full powers must break these shards, either through the path of the mind or the path of despair.

For the path of the mind, one would have to conceal their whole self, practically entering a meditation mode, and find Ab'ael's shards, Ab'ael would then show himself to the vessel, in the powers of the first shard. This means that if one were to try to break Ab'ael's first shard through the path of the mind, they would have to battle Ab'ael who would make himself just as strong as the first shard. By defeating Ab'ael's first shard, you would have broken the first shard.

To be able to break any of Ab'ael's shards was close to impossible due to the sheer amount of power Ab'ael possessed.

As for the path of Despair, one would have to lose themselves in the power of Ab'ael, this only happens if one is in a state of mind of despair, or pure anguish. One would practically lose their consciousness, this is because one would have "Opened the pot" for Ab'ael to be summoned, when you lose yourself into the powers of Ab'ael, the one that now controls your body and mind is Ab'ael, however Ab'aels possession depends on how severe the state of the mind of his vessel would be. The more severe, the most likely the chance is that Ab'ael's vessel would be fully consumed by him.

Sun Jun was still a young man, although his prowess made him the Nation leader of that time, Shao Yu set his eyes upon him, planning on making Sun Jun the next leader of the Black Dragons Nation. There were no equals to Sun Jun in terms of sheer power alone, Sun Jun had perfectly mastered the art of God Invocation, as well...

Sun Jun, leader of the Black Dragons Nation, eventually received the Abyssal Essence and became the vessel of Ab'ael. He led the Black Dragons to victory in a two-year war against the Peria Nation, known as "The Wrath of Hell" for being the war with the most deaths. As a result of their victory, Sun Jun was appointed leader of the Black Dragons Nation by Shao Yu on his deathbed.

With the land of Peria still being in control of the Black Dragons Nation, Sun Jun had grown in becoming power-hungry. He believed that the Black Dragons Nation could become the only Nation in the world with the greatest power.

He led an all-out war against the remaining seven Nations, during which his son, Sun Lee, who was around 18 years old at the time, emerged as a powerful member. Sun Jun conquered three of the seven remaining Nations and the Black Dragons Nation became the largest empire in the history of Gaius.
